  • Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few days, it’s been crazy busy and haven’t had much time.

I’m on 7 NSDs at present, and the spends I have had have been planned in. The wants v needs battle in my head is still going strong!!

Lunch to work every day and avoiding coffee shops aren’t too hard, I always take my lunch, and although I love a coffee I’m equally happy with one I’ve made myself! One of my challenges is to drink less coffee and I’ve been limiting myself to 3 a day, i was on 8 or 9 a day previously....

I’m also still running, it’s not getting any easier and I’m not getting any better but I’m going to stick with it.

Today I’m grateful for the beautiful weather after the awful rain, quality time with my sister, and for feeling that my back cloud is lifting.

Have a great weekend everyone x

Much better day today. Changed the bedding, did all the washing, some ironing and made soup. Dinner is in the oven. Another tatty pair of trousers and some things from the bathroom in the bin.

We've decided to donate the a small. local charity that the boy next door volunteers for. Something that is actually very close to our hearts having experienced what they are trying to help some years ago. We'll also donate to the Salvation Army Christmas appeal, as usual.

Budgets and everything else all going according to plan.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Hope you’re ok indigowarrior, sending hugs if you need them.

I’ve chsnged my beds today Toni’s friend. Line dried them but had to finish them off in the tumble drier.

I was cold and sweaty and very fed up but kept going. Have just had a sit down shower and washed my hair and am snuggled under the bedclothes. I have been in contact with something I'm allergic to as I have weals across my forearm and I've scraped the back of my hand with brambles.

Lots of stuff still to do. No painting got done, I have 3 loads of clean washng piled in front of the washer and probably another 3 or 4 loads to do. I reached the nearside furthest corner of their room but not quite the far side corner (picked the cans up from there yesterday).

However lots of bedding and clothes have been washed, you can walk across their room and down both sides of the bed, lots of clothes have been hung up, rubbish has been swept from all but the furthest corner of the floor, as many quilts and pillows as possible have been aired outside over the bins, I have removed both mattresses from the single bed downstairs and used the boards of my raised bed to reinforce it where the slats were broken.

Just to add to the mix my neighbours have been 'tidying'. They have dismantled their metal shed and emptied out all the large planters. last year they did this be plonking the soil outside my wall (didn't mind - I am continually trying to improve the soil and make more things grow - I have a secret plan to colonise this end of the backs).

This year they dumped the soil in my green bin, which is not allowed (the council won't take it and it makes the bin very heavy). So in amongst the other stuff, I have pulled soil out of the bin by the bucketload, then tilted the bin and taken more out sideways and finally tipped it on its lid to get the last lot out) And I did not use any bad words.

If they had asked, I would have happily accepted the soil but they think it's clever to be sneaky and do things behind my back. Anyway I now have a large clump of 2' long chives, soil which I wanted anyway and the satisfaction of a job well done.

Today I am grateful for the warmth and comfort of my bed, for easy food (had some of the cauli + broccoli cheese with added mushrooms and a baked potato) and for being able to see the floor in their room. Found 1 more pen, 2 teaspoons, another pair of my scissors and an unopened pack of throat sweets (all down the couch cushions); a few pennies, 2 more towels, 2 part used paper towel rolls, another roll of binbags (these are the things they often ask me what I have done with them) and a lot more of DS3's clothes (another half dozen t-shirts that fit him and another for making more rags).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Budget - still within budget

NSD - 4/15 - this was REALLY TOUGH today - had a busy but productive and successful day at work, and in the past I would have treated myself to something small like a takeaway or a drink on the way home, but I have abstained! *pats self on back*

Remove 60 Items - nothing extra today, I have a day off tomorrow so will be doing a pre-Christmas clear out

Outings - none today, only work :(

Use up Toiletries etc - all going okay and no unnecessary purchases

Lunch to Work - yes, wasn't the most appetising but filled a hole!

Tread lightly - another walk to and from work today

Reach out - contacted a friend during a break, and we now have plans for tomorrow

New Habit - no fizzy drinks - FAILED. I needed a pick me up and with the staff cafe closed I got stupid and lazy and asked someone to pick me up a coke whilst they went out for lunch. At least I didn't pay for it? *slaps wrist* 9/30

Grateful for - feeling healthier today; for being productive and getting good feedback at work; for having some chocolate saved from last week to enjoy tonight!

Apologies for not updating much this week. Redundancy shenanigans and prep for an internal job interview have kept me busy this week though I have been reading along.

Budget - bought DH another 3 shirts as still at 20% off. Also replaced the 3 faulty pairs of DS school pants that were returned in the week, got 15% of these :) All other budgets looking good, even food budget is on track :)

Pay to Debts/Savings first - no more DDs for debt gone out yet, savings still intact

15 NSDS 0/15 Errr....zero. I am happy with where I am with the budgets though

Avoid Coffee Shops - my 2nd outing was to meet a friend at a coffee shop. I haven’t had my Christmas cost a lot yet.

Lunch to Work - Aiming for 20 days for DH 4/20

Remove 60 Items - 8/60 Haven’t taken stuff to charity shop yet. The 8 items have all been binned and included a stained table mat, a broken glass, 2 worn cushion covers and a side light removed from the dining room before decorating.

Use up Toiletries and Condiments Finished the shampoo so have moved 3 hotel miniatures into shower to use up. Used up pickle, Wooster sauce and had to bin a dried up chutney.

Daily Fresh Air Walked to school and dog has been out this week

Donate £5 - poppy appeal and shoe box donations done. I am pulling together a reverse advent calendar for the food bank

Daily Gratitude - 1) a colleagues help with my interview prep 2) calpol for DS who woke up unwell in the early hours and is now on the mend 3) a glass of red

Help others, Love People :heart2: catch up with friend, text another friend whose husband has been unwell

New Habits - Done better this week but today has gone to pot

    1) Eat 3 proper meals each day 6/30
    2) Drink 2 glasses of plain water each day 5/30
    3) Eat a minimum of 3 F&V each day 4/30
    4) Complete 2 items off my to do list each day 7/30
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Indigo - hugs, and more hugs to anyone else needing some.
I am on NSD5. I sat here yesterday and printed out all the survey vouchers and points vouchers and found I had £20 of free Mr T's food if I spent £30, so I spent £31(£11 in real money) and got the other stuff free. It is all store cupboard staples and my posh Stephen Fry teabags, but it should do, and it was a massive discount. So I am happy.

Plenty of food in the house now.

Lists written for most days next week.

Thermals hoicked out of the drawer - it is not above 8 degrees all week over here. Brrrr!

Gratitudes: dh made doughnuts, finishing 3 more books, finding the vouchers before they ran out, David Attenborough programmes
