Just a quick check in today. Work is slightly quieter which I'm eternally grateful for! Another NSD today. Doctors appointment booked for next week. Claimed some money on my health cash plan, should get that back soon. Sorted out a pet insurance claim, hopefully get money for that back soon too. Also switched insurance provider for my pet insurance, they've doubled my premium despite only making one claim in 3 years, so I've found the same cover cheaper elsewhere. Gym later after work and then housework.

Today I'm grateful for making contact with an old friend and provisionally arranging to meet, for saving money on pet insurance, and for a chance to breathe and catch up on work. :)
  • Pay to your debt or savings first
Another £25 overpayment made this week, along with a monthly DD, will clear one card in full next week

Take your lunch to work every single working day
    Doing well :)

Come on here every day and post three things you are grateful for

My physio has now referred me higher, so may get somewhere now with my foot, I made a lovely chilli in the week which has gone very far meal-wise, and looking at a new car tonight

Reach out to help other people
Messaged my older sister who I really do not see enough and seems down in the dumps on FB - need to continue this conversation (still need to!!!!)

Start 1 or 2 new habits this month
One of these is making protein smoothies full of fruit and spinach for breakfast rather than junk food breakfasts (still going strong with this)
Second is to walk UP the 15 flights of stairs at work once a day - doing this well, too.

I will finally get out of this nightmare week at some point!!

The day after I paid the £75 to get my windscreen fixed, the car sounded awful on starting up, juddering, and gave me some nice warning lights on the dashboard, so I've given up throwing any more money at a £600 car. Went straight online to a finance company, was approved for a decent rate, and I am test driving a car tonight that (as long as it is what I expect it to be) will be saying I want and bringing it home Saturday. I had planned to save anyway at the start of the year to buy the kind of car I am seeing later, so I will just overpay with that money and settle within a few months, rather than being stuck in the finance deal for ages. It's the same result either way, really, I'll just end up paying a little bit of interest.

Oh, to add onto that, after I booked the test drive Tuesday night and got the finance amount and rates confirmed, I couldn't find my sodding driving license. Fortunately I found it this morning poking out from under the side of my drivers seat near my handbrake, so all is well in the world again today :rotfl:

Oh - and I did my £5 charity donation yesterday to the Poppy Appeal man for a pin badge :D

These things are often in the c/s around by me, the big ones that do electricals (Air Ambulance/BHF/RSPCA) , or the ones that do furniture tend to have the most. It is one of those things you either use nearly every day, or get stuck in a cupboard forever - old style glass jug coffee percolators, slow cookers, bread machines, toastie makers, and George Formby grills as well, all easily under a tenner.
Thanks f0xholes. I know what you mean. I barely have a functional kitchen so I am very, very, careful about gadgets coming in. I can see myself using a food processor often so I will probably invest in one. I will keep an eye on charity shops :)

  • I slept poorly and was up in the night. My lady time ;) Feeling a bit meh today so staying home. The silver lining? A NSD so now on 2/15.

    Grateful for:
Found some yom tum sauce so made a split pea and courgette curry that came out lovely.
My new teapot is so comforting. It makes me smile.
It rained most of the night but today is sunny.

Wishing my fellow turtles a relaxing evening :)

Waiting for a parcel being delivered for the Boy which has just arrived so have been in all day.

Himself brought in a carry out Chinese meal last night when he finally came home. I've finished it off for lunch so soup for dinner tonight.

We've had a quiet day so no decluttering but I do have some things earmarked for disposal.

    Have a good evening
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Was up early to wait for food. Did about 3/4 of an hour pottering round collecting rubbish and recycling and ferrying it to the bins, stopping to hold onto things when the dizziness got too bad. Frantic 10 minutes putting the food away (they both helped as I was getting close to falling over).

Too much food for the freezer so suggested they pick things to eat and pick something bulky. They have small roast to eat with two ends of pack vegetables. I have cooked 4 baked potatoes and a pack of sausages in the oven and mixed eggs and milk for crustless quiche. One was going to be sweetcorn and chorizo but think Beloved put the chorizo back in the freezer (did look but gave up as bending down didn't feel good) so both (about 4 portions each) will be red onion, sweetcorn and peppers. Any leftover veg will go into either a veg curry or veg chilli.

Going to go and do a small part of the kitchen then either sew or wrap presents - need to finish off a small amunt of sellotape. I think I lost it near to the end of last year's wrapping and had to go and buy a new one. Might as well wrap the presents that are bought rather than moving the roll every five minutes (since I took it out of the wardrobe now it's time to use it).

Today I am grateful for helpful delivery drivers, having food in the house and getting some fresh air.

    No money spent today.

Dreadful weather all day today, lots of flooding around and about now, it was dark on the way home from work at 4.30pm due to such bad weather.

Avoid every chain coffee shop etc. Support local shops and traders.- nothing today. OH has bought a coffee at Bham New Street station as his train was delayed so missed his connection and has to wait another hour - so have told him to keep receipt and claim from work (work trip, jprney home will end up taking around 3 3/4hours, so I think they can pay for a cup of tea!

Remove 60 items from your house - 7 more today - 1 recycled (loads of old part used 'organising' sticker sheets from past calendars) and 6 binned (I broken old (like 20y) hairclip and 5 items of makeup/ nailvarnish - none of which were less than 5 years old.....) 151/60

Use up your toiletries and household cleaners before buying any more. - yes - although I have added deodorant to my shopping list - I've started a new one today and haven't another as back-up and it's something I wouldn't want to run out of.....

Go on 2 outings - 1 done so far

Donate £5 or time to charity - lots of 'things' donated to various places. Money donated to poppy appeal and Gloucester Cathedral. Will likely still send some things to school with DS2 for food bank as they are running a collection this month

Come on here every day and post 3 things you are grateful for. - 4 hours at work today - where I noticed I was underpaid by an hour last month (it all adds up!! :D) and also hadn't had my 2 hours added for this Monday, a dry day (but cold - have advanced the heating tonight as I just can't get warm), no plans for tomorrow :T, an extremely lovely and very understanding boss

Start 1 or 2 new habits this month, ones that are simple and will make you feel better - fewer cups of tea and min 4 f&v per day - tea ok today. F&V - only at 2 so far - but dinner still to come......

    Good evening!

What a grey rainy day... went out for a haircut and for a free cake/coffee and ended up spending £50 at nearby supermarket!!! Most expensive cake and coffee EVER!!! Somebody needs to barricade me in my flat and not let me out!

Ahem... so... not a NSD... That said - on the plus - am still on track with my calorie count despite cake so yay! Am really looking at what I eat and trying to be healthier <the cake was a treat and erm FREE>.

Doctor swapped my meds (happy pills!) and I have been so zonked out and away with the faries today... Need to give them time to settle in I suppose but seriously!!! I slept through 2 alarms this morning!!! Good job I am off work right!?! The joys of depression!!!

On that cheery note - I am off to do something positive... some mindfulness and then chill out for the evening.

    G'night all! ;)
