  • Our activity spend was only budgeted at 25 a week which isnt a lot but we are subject to extra measures so unlikely to have much need to use it all. Fingers crossed.
We are planning a Halloween party in the garden with our neighbours. Decorations and a kind of sweets hunt and music or something. Like a egg hunt. We cant go in each others gardens but if we do it at the same time the kids will get all hyped up and hopefully enjoy it anyway.
I'm assuming things like school christmas discos and santa visits wont take place which is a shame but it means we can use the money for things at home.

  • 8% of my wraparound childcare cost paid so far for this school year. Much nicer to look at it this way. ;)

That's a good way of looking at it!

  • 10% of childcare paid.im so glad i put money away over summer to have a head start.
A few pounds quite literally paid to debts but all helps.

I was going to do my soa for feedback but I'm not sure how best to. Weve been given 90 a week in tax credits but this  will only be 42 a week from april. Do I do a soa on our earnings now but try and get really ahead in childcare costs or do I plan a tight budget on what it will be. Maybe I should do one now as it's still 6 months off.

  • Total failure. Did the soa and I cant get it to copy and paste on my phone. Aarggh. It had me as having 161 spare a month to save/overpay debts/put towards swimming lessons once the north west calms down a bit...I will have 189 less coming in from April.so potentially will be okay but not able to have much spare to save. I'll try again on a computer later to see if I can do it.

  • I can find the 28 a month by getting ahead on childcare costs and diluting back a bit in other areas.

Great news about the leak!  Fingers crossed it's all ok now :)

  • Leak seems to have stopped leaking. Currently saving to replace damaged kitchen floor. thankful though it was not worse as it could have had a 4 figure number in but it should only cost 3!!!
Ideally we need it doing asap as its draughty but we have been spend spend spend on the house so need to be quiet for a couple of months and recoupe.  I'm doing a cheap today upnod the kitchen whilst its trashed. It needs ripping out to be fair but instead we are going for a mini makeover which will distract from its faults. I'm making it up as I go and so far it's looking different but okay

  • Middle sentence of my last quote makes no sense but the general gist is I'm upcycling a knackered kitchen with the age old phrase "well it cant look any worse"

Money wise its ticking along. Not much reduction in debts but I honestly have no inclination to pay extra on them with everything going on.  We have just cleared out the house fund on our planned work and are hopeful to have kitchen floor saved up by new year. We ever so carefully took the old floor up to find the leak but alas it did not want to go back down.
Not much happening otherwise. We are tier three so it's all a bit miserable on that front. Not planning much as it all ends up cancelled. Film nights house discos and walks in the park will do us for now!
