Hi all, I am so annoyed, I had a lovely day in Big Town yesterday, but when I was driving home from the station I thought my car was sort of weird. Turns out I have a very flat tyre. Friday after my car service I had an illegal tyre, and I got it changed by what looked like a dodgy garage - but I thought £25 no matter it will last me until MOT in May. Ha it didn't even last me back and forth to the train station. I didn't even get a receipt from garage. So now it's sunday, my car is in the driveway with a flat tyre. And I have to go and pay a premium for unplanned tyre change.
Guess who will have a visit from me on Tuesday if I'm off work - or if I have cover work I will go into work and make more than £25 and possibly forget about it.
But I am steaming, I don't usually get cheated that obviously.
Paid Tube yesterday with my bank card, am slightly worried about price of 4 stops, hoping it was cheaper than my upgrade to travel card - at least that was the plan.
Today I will stay home from run - I had looked forwards to
    Walk dog
Go for a run this afternoon when I know what happened with tyre etc
Bake and muffins bread for week
Hopefully go and get ds form service area, he's coming home for a specialists doctors appointment tomorrow morning, if I get tyre fixed
    Clean house
    Make ds bed
    Run laundry x 2
Call around and check tyre prices before taking it in
Tweak bank account, am having to dig into EF and am not happy.
Have a bette Sunday, mine will be fine, but I'm not happy.

That is awful Ditty, and could have placed you in danger. It is not just a matter of £25, it could have caused a serious accident injuring you and / or others. I would definitely be going back to that garage and making a complaint, and if you don't get a decent response, complain to Trading Standards, see https://www.tradingstandards.uk/consumers/support-advice
I also would not be using that firm again, or recommending it to others.
  • Dittty - That's awful. Hope you get a refund

    Ditty

I highly recommend you contact the garage and trading standards as Dawn advised. Whenever we needed tyres I have always checked out prices etc on https://www.blackcircles.com - hope that helps

Hope you have a better day today!

    Afternoon all :)
It actually isn't raining! So I have put some washing out and am anxiously scanning the sky.
Decided not to go to the boot sale / market this morning as the weather was pretty vile early on. Also decided not to go shopping today, as there isn't anything we can't do without for another day. So 2 NSDs in a row to start the new month :) Just as well after my splurge at the butcher's the other day!

DS and his gf came in for coffee. Nice to see them :)

Apart from that I have / will:
    Walked the dog

    Cleaned both bathrooms (go me!)
Prepped a swede that has been lurking in the fridge for ages, will have some with our roast lamb later, the rest can be mixed with some mashed potato and used to top a cottage pie.
Put meat and potatoes in to roast earlier than usual because my main oven has still not been mended, despite the fact that this was supposed to happen last Thursday :( My old range cooker has a second oven, but it is less efficient / does not get as hot.
Maybe a bit of gardening if it doesn't rain
The lower set of stairs needs hoovering
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday :)
  • Afternoon guys :D Ditty that sounds worrying. Hope you get it resolved tomorrow and thankfully you made it home safe x

Have had a lovely weekend. Had fun with oh at the band last night then came home and danced some more, trying to learn the hustle :D

Today picked up madam, went for a walk this afternoon and have just put a hotpot in the oven for tea

Did a load of washing & hung outside :D will need to go on the airer over night

About to go and pruce my car up and clear of junk as have MOT tomorrow

we are being real cheap skates and going to watch the local fireworks display in a field rather than pay the entrance price! Will take a flask of hot chocolate and a blanket to sit on and dress up warm :o:money::rotfl:

going to play scrabble with madam after I'm done my car

either read my book or do some sewing later on

only spend today is some milk

    Ok that's me.

  • I'm shocked about the tyre ditty - really hope you get your £ back. Surely it's not legal for them to be that lax with safety? Good luck getting a positive result.
I've had a busy and spendy couple of days - but it's all been on festive stuff so I don't feel too guilty about it. I feel much better for having made some of my home made Christmas goodies, and decluttered a couple of cupboards as well - so it's been productive.
Not much looking forward to going back to school tomorrow. Almost on the Christmas countdowns already.
