DNMS hope the holiday blues don't last for too long
ziggy sending hugs, make sure u don't overdo it
CCL great to 'hear' from u, even though I've been rubbish at posting. Good old RL and a decorator!
DD has a friend staying over as they are going out for Halloween tonight. Her bestie was over last night, very handy. I've bought a compact table and chairs where the chairs tuck in the table after. They put the table together in return for free food of pizza and garlic bread, which I already had in and helped free up space for some Christmas bits.
Living room is a tip with a table in the middle but it was a win, win evening!
Banking all checked everything good
Must bank a cheque this morning
Quidco checked
Picking up some presents (reduced) for birthdays at the start of next year. Always great not to spend after Christmas and nice to get something that I know will go down well at a much cheaper price.
Still tweaking things after the decorator much to my DDS frustration. Keep moving bits about!
Washing machine on (eco setting) blue skies today so will get the washing outside.
Need to do a few emails and then I will see where the day takes me.

So far today:
Phone and tablet charging
Banking checked and pennies moved
Himself's banking done. He's hopeless. don't think he even knows how to log in.
To do:
Post postal vote applications
Print an application off for the Boy and give him a sae to post it otherwise it will never get done
Bring the sweet dishes for tonight downstairs and hope that Himself doesn't demolish them before the children arrive
Go to Aldi and buy some fruit to make a bag for a little boy who can't eat sweets. He has medical issues. I always feel so sorry for him when the others are chomping away on chocolate
Use some salad type stuff for lunch. I know it's cold but it's not going to waste
Minestrone soup for dinner
Check the C present stash and see what else is needed. Not much I hope.
Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Morning all
No blue skies here I am afraid HK
Waiting in for oven repair man today - hope he shows up! He didn'tWill see what tomorrow brings.
DH has taken the dog to the groomers for a haircut - cue grumble, grumble, how much??!! I will tell her to give him a no.3 all over for that! :rotfl::rotfl:Done
I have wrapped up 3 ebay parcels, still awaiting payment (promised yesterday) for a 4th. Completed post office drop and go form for the 3 that have been paid, but holding off printing it off in case the 4th buyer does decide to pay up, then I can add that and take them all at once  Non paying buyer still hasn't paid. I will give it one more day then raise a case with ebay to avoid paying fees!
Other things:
Kitchen clean up needed! Done
Check banks and update spreadsheet / spending diary Done
Get something out of the freezer for dinner. Tomato sauce I think, to go with pasta and parmesan. Daren't plan something that will need much in the way of cooking in case the oven man turns up late. Done
Neighbour has brought me round a bag of green tomatoes for chutney, but I won't be making it today
Ought to list some more things on ebay Did list quite a few
No doubt there will be more, will update later.
Popped along to corner shop to buy sweets for potential trick or treat visitors (we only got one this year, lots of sweets left for GCs)
Also bought a sympathy card for DD1's MiL, as her FiL has sadly diedSpoke to DD today, they are still all in shock really, as he was expected to recover from this op. Very sad

Morning all,
I HATE Halloween!! Although I do look forward to the evening pulling the boys into the back of the house with us, with all the lights switched off at the front pretending we aren't in! We're going to have a night in front of a new dvd (hoping Mr amzn arrives as promised! - its a Tim Vine (comedian) dvd and we've booked to take the kids to see his live show next year, will be interesting watching to see if the kids get the puns!) I've got popcorn to make, having chicken drumsticks, wedges, corn on the cob and salad bits to nibble on.
Today I have/will
* gym session to make the most of my membership
* make a cottage pie for lunch using up random left overs from the fridge/freezer - I've done my part, just waiting for dh to make the mash now.
* check banking/update cashbook
* sew up holes in two jumpers of the kids
* watch another Bond film from our stash with dh this afternoon, wrapped under fleece blankets
Thats if for now. take care all.
Dnms & Ziggy hope you're feeling betterSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi all,
Yep payday. Had myself a well overdue haircut (the dog has had two since I had mine in February), and mine are cheaper!
Made chicken for dinner and there is enough for one or two more dinners.
Baked a cake.
Baked muffins from old bananas.
Work a half day of cover. It turned out to be about an hour and a half, so tht made up for some rather long days earlier in the week.
Finally tried gifted bike, it will work for getting into town- and back, but the frame is too small.
Am hiding from Halloweenies as bought no sweets, and I don't want to loose it on any kids from a cover lesson at local school the other day! They don't deserve sweets.
Didn't even get a pumpkin this year. Have a peaceful evening and don't scare the ghosts.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

DawnW blue skies didn't last for long. By early afternoon grey skies, just thought it would hold out but some rain on my washing
1LL I'm with u on Halloween. I love reading about the history of the origins and folklore but I usually completely shut the house down. With DD having friends over to go out I knew I wouldn't get away with it this year. Had some American sweets from DD BF to declutter that he didn't like and had picked up a few bits from h.bargains. It wasn't too bad, lots of polite youngsters, and the odd older person taking them round pushing their luck- one had their bag deliberately open for sweets, I deliberately ignored it! But we all took turns and it didn't last for long.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
