    Afternoon all,
Its a quiet day here as the weather is awful.

    Todays list
    * checked banking/updated cashbook and told the rest of the family we need to be less spendy this month.
    * picked up ds2s prescription at the same time as dh had his flu jab. Straight home so nothing spent.
    * breakfast was american pancakes using up a part tin of leftover sweetcorn, some cheese and a bit of ham - yum! The kids thought it was their birthday!
    * lunch was yesterdays mince & mash leftovers (not enough mash for the four of us but had 4 dumplings in the freezer so padded out with them :) )
    * washed a load on the quick 30 degree wash as the washing I'd done the day before was finally dry to go away from the radiators
    * another bond film with dh this afternoon with candles lit and fleece blankets
    * split peas and bacon thing for tea tonight, ultimate comfort food for a cold wet night!
    * cancelled our current nowtv subscription - in deal until the end of Dec so fingers crossed for a black friday deal maybe.
    * ordered more library books online, saves us going and spending ages looking for what we want. This way we get an email when ready, saves us time and lots of money over the year!
    * research xmas gift ideas for mil/fil as we were going to see them before xmas to hand over but now need something that can be delivered to them as they've had to cancel.

Thats about it. Take care all.

Hi its a bit weird, but my bank account doesen't seem to reflect my goings out? A bit unnerving, I know that by Monday night all will be clear!
Today I will be cooking from stores, dropping off gift for bicycle, go on a planned trip- bring train snacks and water, as I need to give up my phone ... aimless browsing I will bring a book to read on train.
Keep up my spending diary, walk dog, hope everybody has a great day and stay out of the wind. And keep an eye on the ball this morning!

    Morning all :)
Rain and high winds this morning :( OH has gone to take part in an outdoor event, not terribly enthusiastically, which is understandable, but he didn't want to let his friend (the host) down. He had wet journeys there and back, but it stayed largely dry during the outdoor part - unlike here, where it has rained nearly all day, The dog on the other hand took one look at the weather and decided that he and I would not be going for a walk. It cleared up for about 45 minutes at around 9am so we went then, got back just before it started pouring down again.
DD2 plus little ones usually turn up on Saturdays, so it is unlikely to be a relaxing day :rotfl:It certainly wasn't - they were quite good though, GD played with the big box of lego which I had fetched downstairs. Iwill be pleased when GS will play as well, rather than wanting me to carry him about all the time. He is getting heavy and I am a bit achey this evening!
Other than that, my plan is to:
Have HG fruit from freezer with breakfast Done
Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
Continue to work on the shopping list. Might go tomorrow (?) It won't be a big list as I spent a lot at the butcher's yesterday on a bulk buy of meat. Must check online to see what the local food bank are asking for atm and do my monthly donation though! Still in progress. Might go tomorrow.
All food from home, dinner will be the chicken and chorizo stew that I took out of the freezer for yesterday and didn't use. Done, was yummy with a jacket potato
Some cleaning as needed (and it always is :() Didn't happen apart from a quick kitchen tidy
Not a very exciting list today, too wet for gardening or going for a decent walk :(

I'm sat on the sofa, thinking about making a coffee, and contemplating my weekend. I don't often get a full weekend off - but this is one!! The forecast wasn't good, but it's actually a perfectly pleasant autumn day.

So far I've got the Christmas decorations out of the back of the big cupboard - it's like one of those tile puzzles, where everything has to move around and then move back. I need to open up the boxes and see how we're doing for wrapping paper and cards. I'm doing Christmas Lite this year, so no new decorations, and I'll only be buying more cards and wrap if I don't have enough left from last year.

This afternoon is Christmas Shopping. I have a list of people to buy for, and I'm determined to spend no more than £10 per person. I have a £20 M&S voucher, so that should help!!

I've bought two gifts already - a fancy box of biscuits for my father, and a book about gin for my daughter-in-law - from the National Trust. As a volunteer, I get 20% discount in the shop, so a £20 purchase only cost me £16 - it's good to be ahead of the game.

The reason I'm doing it so early is that I'll be seeing 6 of the people I'll be buying for in about 10 days' time, so if I get the gifts bought and wrapped I can hand them over and avoid the postage!! And if I'm buying all that, I might as well do all the rest as well, and save on train fare!!

I've pruned my Christmas card list severely - basically anyone who I haven't seen or spoken to in the last 2 years is for the chop. And if I can get away with an online greeting, I'll be doing that.

Right, coffee time. If I have one before I go, I won't be tempted to spend big money on a Spiced Latte when I get there!!

    Bah, humbug.

Well, I think that was very successful.

I needed 8 gifts (with my limit of £10 per person per occasion, that's £80). Plus Secret Santa at £5.

I managed to get the lot for £81!!! And as I paid for some of it with my £20 M&S voucher, it only came to £61 'really'!!

And I avoided having a coffee in town - and came home before lunch so avoided that temptation too.

    Happy bunny.

    Banking checked
    Had breakfast

As it's Saturday I think I'll have a quiet day

    Finish soup for lunch
Make dinner with chicken from freezer, tomatoes and other veg that we have.
Do a kind of a meal plan
    Declutter another couple of things

    Have a good day
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Morning :D jeez weather is miserable here! Hard to believe 6 days ago it was a blistering hot day on the beach and trying to keep madam out of the direct sun!

I was meant to be going to the allotment for a clear up day but weather has put me off!

Going to do homework with madam in a minute and get that out of the way.

ds & gf are coming round at lunch. They are expecting a little bundle of joy :smileyhea Hopefully they'll take something of dd's and drop it there on their way home ;)

Put suitcase in loft, one has my summer clothes in :(

madam going to a sleepover tonight and oh & I going out dancing :)

Might start cutting out fabric to make baby blanket. Will see hard to muster the enthusiasm

somehow take dog for a walk. Also need to bath him

  • DNMS congratulations :) on ur DS and his partner expecting. It's lovely to have positive news :)

Weather isn't looking too bad at the minute but we do have a weather warning in place.
DD and I are having our annual traditional trip to the local garden centre for their Christmas display opening. Have my vouchers at the ready as we get 20% off this weekend and there are a couple of bits we have seen that we are after for presents.
Will also have a carvery meal there-have vouchers for this as well.
Will place an order at the farm shop for the Christmas turkey and beef-definitely a smaller order, the turkey we had last year looked like it had been body building and on steroids it was so big. We had definitely over ordered.

Wrapped a couple of Christmas bits last night and will wrap more tonight.
I'm the same as trailing spouse some presents will be leaving the house early including next week. Determined to be organised.

    Banking all checked-everything good.
    Quidco checked
    Need to update RM surveys

    Right need to get off.
Have a great day everyone x

Afternoon all, wet and windy here too. The thunder was very very loud at 5am!
Another day at home, will definitely go out tomorrow as I'm fed up of being in now .

    Today I have/will
    * used ys bread from the freezer for breakfasts TICK
    * kids finished the last portion of peas/bacon between them for lunch, topped up with a few crackers and cheese. TICK
    * watch another bond film from our stash with dh TICK - well dh is watching,
I'm on here typing this! we're on the old ones, I 'll pay more attention when we get to Pierce Brosnan ones honest!

    * order a computer program online and check for discount code first TICK, no code but this is a one off payment to help support ds2 whereas the programme hes followed the last four years is a yearly cost,
    * chicken curry from the freezer for tonights meal, with a couple of naan bread I found at the back of the cupboard, a month or so out of date but smell fine.
    * berries out of the freezer to stew with some apples TICKto go with yogurt as a dessert later
    * make some popcorn to have whilst watching Would I like to you? with the kids
    * candles lit, fleece blankets out and no heating on for as long as possible TICK
    * start writing a to do list ready for next week as after the half term and being ill etc for the month of October I really want to have a good start to November.
    * painted my toe and finger nails after going into the box for handcream (the skin between my fingers peeled badly after burning it earlier in the month) also cut the top off a tube of footcream as nothing would come out but there is plenty in there. TICK
    * gather up library books/audio books to go back as I've had an email saying some of the books I held yesterday are available - will go tomorrow TICK
    * book next weeks gym classes online TICK

Thats enough to be starting with. Take care all.
