So if you downgrade your club lloyds to Classic, Can you upgrade it again to club lloyds and then switch in another account . Or do you have to open a completely brand new club lloyds account and then switch in to get the incentive.
    tia :)

The T&C say a new account is needed. See comments on the first page or two of this thread for more info.

Ok thank you. Just wasnt sure if an upgraded account was a new account or not. So wanted to make sure :)
  • Husband and I have had a joint account with Lloyds since the year dot which was upgraded to a Club account. However, that enables us to open a sole CL account each and bag £250.

As we already held a CL account we had to open them over the phone (couldn't do them online) but that was comparatively easy and it's all done and dusted and awaiting our switching bonuses. :)

Thanks, did you have to provide the switching account details whilst you opened the account? I'm in the same position, the online account opening process only suggested to visit a branch

    Ughh

Another bank with absolutely terrible security practices. I'll be switching away as soon as the money hits my account.

    Hi Foofi22,

Yes, I did provide the switching details at the same time as opening the account over the phone. I had initially rung Lloyds to make an appointment at my local branch, but the lady to whom I spoke (who was very helpful) suggested that I open the accounts over the phone and set the switch in motion at the same time.

She actually asked why I wanted to open another Club Lloyds a/c and I told her quite truthfully that I was opening it to obtain the switching bonus.:p
