I have had a look and cant see anywhere that says you cannot use this if you already have a club account - or any I missing something?
This offer is for new Club Lloyds and Club Lloyds Platinum accounts opened between 1 October 2019 and 5 November 2019
It would be a NEW account?I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
You can only have 1 club llyods account at a time.I think....0

Plus 1 joint.;)I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

Thank you for the advice guys!
When I logged in, it still didn't offer the CL account, but when made the application without logging in, it went smoothly :-)
The only issue is that we had to register to online banking again, but earlier experiences with LBG show that these will automatically merge later.0 -
Other half just tried to open an joint but the application on line only refers to one person on acct and at end said she already has one

I did this as well and it has worked - downgraded my Club Lloyds to a Classic account and then applied for a new Club Lloyds account without logging in
Also just FYI, the system was smart enough to recognise that I held a Club Lloyds account when I tried applying for a second CL account, even when I wasn't logged in
EDIT: I should also mention that in my situation, I haven't had to re-register for online banking. The system seems to have married my accounts up basically straightaway following my application0 -
Ive been waiting years for a Lloyd’s switch with spare accounts everywhere and I’ve just used my last available dummy account to switch to Barclays .
Which bank is quickest for opening an account for the sole purpose of switching out for this offer?0 -
Actually the system is even smarter... I have a Halifax log in, as I have a Clarity credit card and some savings accounts. I opened a Club Lloyds account just now (without logging in to anything, as I don't have accounts with Lloyds), and I was able to log into my Lloyds account with my Halifax credentials, and see the newly open account.
So it works across sister banks too... I wouldn't be surprised if I could log into the Bank of Scotland website with the same credentials, even though I don't have an account with them.
Funny you should mention this, as I've got a bit of a weird success with this. I have a Halifax account that I can view using my BoS credentials (and vice versa) but neither of those can see my Lloyds accounts (or vice versa). However my Scottish Widows pension shows up in all three credentials... the LBG stuff is odd -shrugs-Ive been waiting years for a Lloyd’s switch with spare accounts everywhere and I’ve just used my last available dummy account to switch to Barclays .

Generally it's quickest to open a second account with an organisation you already hold an account with, since you won't have to jump through as many hoops getting identified, etc. Alternatively, many people seem to like (mis)using Monzo/Starling for these sort of things - they are very easy/quick to open and subscribe to CASS so can be used for switch incentives0 -

Obligatory mention that you can only do it once every 12 months with Starling, but the alternative avoids a hard search, so it should be the first thing to consider.0
