I had this exact same problem, and a poster a few post back seems to have had the same issue, so I reckon it's quite widespread.
I went onto live chat and they were useless, but I had a Twitter conversation with a helpful chap last night.
The account is not opened and it's a dropped application. Dropped applications fall off their system overnight.
I had the "already applied" message when I tried again yesterday, but it's worked fine today when I've reapplied., so it seems any failed applications from yesterday (due to the missing button!!) will work today. The button was there today too.
Good luck.
Thanks for this - it seems this is the case for me too. My application went through as usual today. Much more helpful than the live chat / Twitter. Thanks!0 -
You can only open a joint account in Branch. Are Lloyds living in the dark ages?I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

Great to hear it worked for you. I have just tried but go the message saying I have applied recently. I applied late last night so maybe this is the reason it has not been cleared from the system. I will try tomorrow then.0

Anyone getting the issue with the "continue" button not showing up in Chrome?
Just tick the "I agree" button or whatever at the bottom (untick it first if you ticked it before reading this)
Then press tab and press enter. Worked for me
Didn't work for mejust took me back to the beginning again

Query:
Do you think I can switch, transfer £1500, and then downgrade after the incentive is paid?
Thank you0 -

Also note you don't have to leave the £1500 in there, you can move it instantaneously back out and still avoid the fee.0 -
I called up and they deleted my application and said to try again using internet explorer or Firefox. So I tried firebox and the continue button wasn’t there still. But pressing tab then enter worked in this browser and finally got the account opened.0

Put in my application on the 1st, got the email saying account was open today, switch application straight in. Presume it'll be like the Halifax one where when the other bank confirms the switch is OK the money gets credited to your account immediately.
Will probably stay with Lloyds for the foreseeable to be honest. Nothing against LBG particularly (Halifax were fine for me) and Nationwide weren't giving me much anyway.urs sinserly,

Personally this account is no good for me. I won't ever use the cinema tickets as I only have an Odeon near me, I'm not interested in the restaurant card or magazine subscription. Only the incentive might be a thing, but still...0

You don't have to actually want the account or its perks. Indeed I doubt many on here are looking to switch because they want the account's perks...
This is, for most people, just about the switching incentive. Many on this forum have had every switching incentive ever offered - shamelessly leaving the accounts unused or just switching elsewhere or closing them. This one, unless you pay in 1500 every month, will cost £3 a month to keep, so many will just be closing it or switching it onwards. Unless they want the perks.
Remember, obviously, you don't have to switch your 'main' account.... Any old current account will do!0
