The downgrade then upgrade option doesn't produce another Lifestyle Benefit email (I've tried it) so I assume that the existing Lifestyle Benefit on that account number is only renewed after the existing year is up (similar to how you can't open another CL monthly saver until the year is up even if you close it early).

Wonder if my three unused cinema tickets before downgrade would be re activated upon upgrade!?

    Doubt it!

Are your Cinema tickets actually now de-activated after the downgrade?

Have you tried a test Cinema booking, or even a real 3 film mega-binge ;) ?

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

Good point! Info on here is that the tickets become instantly void but once issued and Vue cinema paid by Lloyds for six tickets don't think Vue would be happy to have their money clawed back (and would it even be worth it?)

There's a distinction here between vouchers and tickets - I haven't seen anyone report vouchers work after closing/downgrade, but I've certainly seen people report they don't work - so I don't doubt they are cancelled (although not sure how quickly).

Of course, if someone exchanged the voucher for a future ticket/booking just before downgrading or cancelling, I imagine those bookings wouldn't be cancelled.

In terms of clawing back money, I suspect Lloyds are more likely to pay Vue based on the average number of vouchers used (or only when a voucher is redeemed) - I doubt they pay them a fee based on assuming every single voucher is used by every single customer.
  • Ashen, yes I meant Vouchers was just following on from terms used in post I was responding to.

My understanding is Lloyds contract cinemas, restaurants, one year magazine subscriptions on a yearly basis once the customer has chosen their benefit. But I have no proof of this.

I'm new to Lloyds and I've received the PIN to go with my debit card. There seems to be no indication in the covering instructions that I can change the PIN to something suitable to me.

    Is this really the situation?

No it isn't. My letter, although poorly worded, states that the PIN can be changed. It's just that they've put it in the "If this is a replacement PIN..." section!

You can change it at an atm using the pin services option.

I've opened/switched a few bank accounts recently, and I have to say, I've been very impressed with the process of opening the Club Lloyds account out of all of them.

I applied on Tuesday night, and found the application process online very easy & straightforward to do. Selected a switch completion date (the earliest being 17/10/19), and received my activation code by post on Thursday. The £125 was paid into my account yesterday (Friday), and I received by PIN & card this morning (Saturday).

    Very impressive!

Together with the option of the 2% on 5k, and the tickets/gourmet/mag subscription, I'd like to say well done Lloyds.

    Maybe I'm easily pleased :D

    You're going to be disappointed...when you realise it's only 1.2% on £5K.
