The vegan Irish cream sounds lovely, I have been looking for the vegan Baileys, but had no luck around here. I may end up making my own instead, but not until nearer Christmas because it will be calling me otherwise.
Thank you. We were talking about the possible variations last night - coconut cream made with Malibu, coffee cream made with extra coffee and espresso Smirnoff..... I have the feeling that my friend is looking forward to home made Baileys. He bought the almond flavoured one from a shop (possibly Waitrose?) and says it's ok but not great. Your tribble idea made me laugh - I may have to borrow it at some future time for the same friend as the Baileys is for :rotfl:honeythewitch wrote: »Evening everyone.
I dont know what people without pets do for entertainment.
Neither do I :rotfl:
Bfh - The beauty of home made is that you can make as much or as little as you want. It's probably cheaper too, but I didn't cost it as it's for my absolute best friend. He's a lovely generous person so I don't mind doing stuff like this for him.
Does anyone have any quick, warm breakfast ideas that don't involve bread or porridge oats please? On my working days I have a bacon and egg toastie at 11am before I start work (work 12-4 without a break) but I need to eat at 7am when I get up with the HT. It's hard to fancy yogurt and fruit in the winter and a cooked brekky would leave me too full for my pre work sandwich.....
Take care all of you0 -
Hi All,
There are way too many posts to catch up with but well done for the STSs and losses and commiserations for the gains - I fear I'll be joining you again this week as I was quite bad over the weekend and dinner last night was hideous. I'm blaming my dad and husband as they've been going on about wanting steamed syrup sponge...
Get well wishes to those with lingering lurgies too.
Cranky - Egg muffins are a good breakfast option. There are loads of different variations but this should give you an idea of what I mean.

Sorry the cold decided to stay with you BlueDoggy, I hope it clears up quickly - same with your stomach.
Sirens, Honeythewitch, Cranky40 and Brambling, I am glad you like the tribbles idea, too! It is going to be fun. Like you, Brambling, I am old enough to remember the original episode, The Trouble with Tribbles. I am sure my brother, who is a lot younger than me, will have seen a rerun of the episode, so will get the joke.
Brambling, I hope the lifts are working and you can access the loos a lot easier today.
Bfh, well done on STS while on holiday, that is quite an achievement!
As I like my Baileys in hot chocolate, I really am going to have to be careful not to buy it just yet, the calories would be too much. Actually, come to think of it, I may as well just have a slosh of brandy or something in a low calorie hot chocolate and call it good!
Cranky40, there is no law that says we can't have soup for breakfast, I do that occasionally and it is a good start to the day. You could make a batch for the freezer or open a tin if you are short of time.
Today is hopefully the last day of rain for a while - thank goodness, I have tons to do in the garden and it has just been too wet to get anything done for what feels like months now!31.5/1000 -
I need a proper rejig. I'm not eating enough veggies, and I'm bread-heavy, so having a good rethink for December.
I ate too much yesterday and that was down to 1 biscuit and one alcohol-free bud extra. So fed up, and the cold isn't helping.
B: crumpets
L: goat cheese sandwich and carrot, yoghurtprawn stir fry and noodles, I think
S: apple - and I already ate a flapjack.Keep reading books!

I have the same problem, there was one day last week when I realised that I'd had bread as part of every meal
I hope the cold goes away and everything feels less gloomy soon.FrugalLina wrote: »Hi Izadora, we posted at the same time again!
Maybe we have similar routines so are free to catch up at the same time
Also, the tribbles idea sounds fantastic :T0 -

Evening everyone.:)Hi all
Back from a lovely break yesterday. Can’t sleep so just checking in. Weighed in this morning with an STS. I think lots of walking balanced out any excess calories I had!
Today went like this -
B - slice of toast, butter, marmite
L - small ciabatta roll with chicken and a little avocado
D - spinach and feta tart with veg
S - still in “holiday” mood so had a glass of wine with dinner, plus an instant hot choc before bed to help me sleep. Clearly that didn’t work 😂
You did good! :TThank you. We were talking about the possible variations last night - coconut cream made with Malibu, coffee cream made with extra coffee and espresso Smirnoff..... How about potato cakes or vegetable burgers or a rumbeldethumps type thing? They could all be microwaved quickly.
I made a variation on a slimming world fake Baileys recipe a few years ago. I cant remember it exactly but it included vanilla pods, almond milk and quark.
I was confident there would be a good loss when I stepped on the scales this morning.
However....
I had put ON ONE AND A HALF POUNDS!:eek::eek: I was like Victor Meldrew, shrieking "I dont belieeeeeeve it!" and demanding a recount!0 -
Blood pressure is still on a downwards spiral, it seems as a veggie I have not eaten cheese in ages, so I have wondered about plant based ( all the frozen meals I have in the freezer are dairy free) so I am trying to be plant based for a couple of weeks to see if that makes a difference!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

Hi there, I am here to confess that I have not been very good this week. I have eaten fish and chips from the takeaway last night and a few days before then we had a Chinese . The line is firmly drawn in the sand now though and I promise I will stop stuffing my face.
I have ordered some smaller plates from Portmeirion as part of the problem is that my husband overfills the ones we have now and because I am a greedy guts, I eat it all ( and then complain of stomach ache). I am hoping these smaller salad plates will help with that.
Today I am going to make a lasagne but it will be packed with veg as well as low fat mince beef. I will serve it with a salad and swerve on the garlic bread. I really want to succeed in losing more weight so it's time to knuckle down and get on with it.
My menu today looks like this:
b - shreddies, milk and sweetener
l - salad wrap with pickles
d - lasagne and salad
s - satsumas and a banana
I am looking forward to today, I need to prove to myself that I can do this. Hoping you all have a great day too xx0
