Well done on all the weight in results today:T :T:T. I think I've picked you all up
Cranky I understand the stress electrical problems can cause, I know it really stressed me out when I had problems with my electrics earlier in the year, luckily I had a good Electrican and I was able to get him to check all my electrics for my peace of mind, well worth the money to sleep at night
FrugalLina if I suggested our manager stopped bringing in biscuits and mince pies I would be very unpopular in the office  usually he puts them in the kitchen which I can try and ignore :rotfl:
Another miserable day, so I got the sewing machine out to do some sewing I promised my sister, I've had some 'help' and have had to fish the cat off the table several times (he knows he's not allowed) at this rate it will be Christmas before I finish it  but it kept me away from the kitchen
I made a cheese sauce to go with the LO cauliflower for lunch, it was very tasty as it contained far too much cheese  there's LO of the cauliflower cheese for lunch tomorrow

L - cauliflower cheese
D - salmon, air fried chips, LO red cabbage
S - grapes, fibre one brownie, crystallised gingerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Wow! So many great losses and staythesames. well done everyone. :jdebbiedodge1737 wrote: »Hello everyone,
Well Done to any losses and sts and to those that have gained ... I know you can pull it back. Sorry I have not managed to check in every day. I will try to this week.
I find diet and money a struggle. I could buy just healthy food in the house but the family would miss out on their little luxuries ..... I am trying to find a balance and find cheap cheap and healthy, so I still have money left for their extras. This week I have on the menu Salad (while boys have carbonara) , Chicken and leek pie with tons of greens , sausage rounds mash n veg , lentil and spinach korma , HM turkey burgers , veg packed slow cooker chilli , and Salad (while boys have cheese and potato pie.
I'm going to try get in my 10,000 steps by walking and exercise monday to friday this week. But will relax more Sat and Sun and going to make sure to up my water as I'm sure I am not drink enough.
Oh I was not even going to weigh in as I thought I would have stayed the same or gained that lb from last week back , as is my norm. But nope ...... I lost 2lbs ......yep -2LB I am still in shock here sitting with my coffee, as none of my days have gone right really...... but I have tried to keep half and eye on it. It motivated me ..... this week I'm going to keep both eyes on it !! lol
Today :
Coffees at the moment
Breakfast : Grapefruit with sugar
Dinner :I'm making chicken, bacon and leek pie ... boiled new potatoes and greens. Not sure of the amount but I expect it is a good 900 calorie meal eeeeeeek.
Tea : slice of sour dough with marmite
water and for my exercise ... I'm in the middle of a big clear out so .. continue with that today.

I am finding that healthy food costs a fortune. no wonder obesity is linked to poverty.
Of course, a lot of it is self inflicted due to having lots of supermarkets selling yellow sticker food at predictable times, so although salads and stir frys are cheap, when you can get five doughnuts for ten pence any time you like, it is very tempting.Good morning all,
Went AWOL again - tired and stressed are not a good combination. I think a lot of us here handle stress by eating, sigh. Anyway I have a STS to report for last Tuesday and probably the same again next Tuesday but we'll see.
Hopefully nothing else will go wrong for the forseeable. The electric tripped on Sunday night - just the sockets so I went to look for the problem. We've been able to smell a strange smell downstairs for weeks. I've run the washing machine empty in case it was that and decided that I probably needed to pull the washing machine out to look behind it. When I checked on Sunday night the only things out of the ordinary that were on were the dishwasher and the cat's dodgy heated mat from China. I unplugged both and the electric stayed on.
When I finished what I was doing I pulled the washing machine out (about 10pm). The dishwasher is plugged in to the same double socket and the dishwaher plug was very hot. I pulled it out and the socket behind the plug was black. Luckily I managed to find a lovely local electrician who came on Monday, repaired the socket and put a new plug on the dishwasher. He also checked to make sure that the other sockets were safe in case they'd been wired up by th same eejit.
Fast forward to Wednesday and there was a further education open evening that the HT wanted to go to in Liverpool. I worked until 4pm, came home, changed into dry, clean clothes and off we went. Pub tea in Wetherspoons (no dessert) and an interesting couple of hours out. A very positive evening but the next day we were both tired and sore (hypermobile joints for those that don't know us).
Tired lasted right the way through until Saturday morning and then I had work again at mid day. I do feel more normal today though and I don't have work until Tuesday now thank goodness.
Well done to everyone who has lost, Izadora you sound like you've been following the same eating plan as me this week except I try to kill the stress with gin and diet tonic.
Take care all of you
Weatherspoons seems like good choice for eating out, because at least they list the calories.
I have found that sometimes I might just as well have the cake instead, calorie wise.
I hope you didnt want grape juice while you were in Liverpool because we have NONE!
It is not sold in any major supermarket. Yet I would consider it to be a pretty standard item. (drove around searching yesterday)Well done on all the weight in results today:T :T:T. I think I've picked you all up

I havent got the hang of making a lower calorie cheese sauce yet. I have tried protein cheese, quark, everything, but the best I have achieved so far is "edible"
Todays food.
Beetroot and olive rolls
Chicken and pickled onion
Grapefruit and black pudding.
Some of the orange aero. :embarasse0 -
Our cat isn't allowed on the table either Brambling. I have a photo of her with her furry backside planted firmly on my table mat but the heated mat that I bought her seems more popular at the moment. The mat is on my armchair mind, nothing as common as a cat bed would be enough, sigh.0

The word NO isn't in a cat's vocabulary cranky
I brought cat beds for my last two cats and they ended up unused in a charity shop  the only time one of them used it was when I put a shoe box in it and she squeezed into the box

Yay, well done BlueDoggy on your 1lb loss this week. :T
Brambling, now I am wanting cauliflower cheese. A vegan friend of mine buys a very easy vegan sauce, I wonder if that is less calorific? I will investigate, although I suspect it is very highly processed, which I do try and avoid.
Well done on the sewing, even if you were "helped" by your cat.
Honeythewitch, you are right about cheap foods being the unhealthy ones, I wince every time I buy fruit these days as it is so expensive. I know I am buying less because I am eating less, but the shopping bill is higher than ever.
Oh, Cranky40, cats are a law unto themselves. My cat is terribly spoilt (elderly rescue cat), she has a large "Who Gives a Carp" toilet roll box with 2 pillows, 2 blankets a heat pad and a large blanket over it. She loves it and it kept her warm during The Big Boiler Blackout of last week. :rotfl:
Well, I am delighted to report a loss of 2.5lbs this week, which brings me to exactly 2 stone off. :j:j:j
That means I can now book my reward which is a manicure. My nails have become brittle as I have aged and they never look nice. If anyone has any advice as to what treatment to get, I would be very grateful to hear. I don't want to be tied into spending a lot every month so I want something that will last and is practical (I hate the over long ones) and won't damage my nail bed any further. Acrylics? Gels? I just don't know.31.5/1000 -
Hi everyone, really impressed with how you are all getting on, great work
I'm hanging my head in shame as the last 2 weeks have been just as bad as the ones before. I've had the odd good day but on the whole my diet has been pretty awful. Anyways, no point looking back so focusing on the here and now I've got a drawer full of fruit with me at work today and some tasty looking soup for lunch. Hoping to turn a corner and get myself back in a better frame of mind before we head off for a long weekend away at the end of next week.
I've avoided the scales this morning (again), at the moment I'm just wanting to get my head back in a better place and I don't think the numbers on the sales are going to help. Hopefully a few days of good eating will.0 -

I have to get tough with myself. In early 2017, I couldn’t shift the half stone I’d put on at Christmas, was the heaviest I’ve ever been, and was going to have to buy clothes the next size up. A restricted calorie diet wasn’t shifting any (I was even starting to gain). By chance I read about the diet I now follow, lost two and a half stone in three months, and have only put the half stone back on. Earlier this year a health check showed borderline high blood pressure so I must get serious about my diet again & lose another two stone (half a stone has gone since I joined you lovely people here - thank you :T. I really couldn’t have done it without your support.).
Do you mind if I ask what diet you follow?Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without0 -
Good afternoon everyone
honeythewitch wow! Five doughnuts for ten pence!! I’m just so glad I’ve never seen them so cheap, my temptation-resistance muscle would be worn out.
FrugalLina thank youmy solitary little lb is well surpassed by your fantastic 2.5lbs :j:j:j. I wish I could pass on tips about nails, but mine are very much “au naturel”, kept short and brushed because of gardening and grooming my dogs. I do massage hand cream around them, but that’s all. I hope you find a style you love.
s_glover it sounds as though you’re already beginning to turn the corner with the fruit and soup you’ve planned. Enjoy your weekend away.
Hodgepodge hi there! The diet I follow is the Harcombe diet.
I’m fighting the threat of an oncoming cold, so dosing up on aspirin and lemon&ginger tea.
Today’s menu:
B: bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, lo slice of aubergine
L: goats cheese salad, cinnamon yogurt, appleveg soup, sausages with spiced green beans and tomatoes, yogurt with rhubarb
