Feeling slightly more human today, but no change on the scales.
I think it is because I have mostly been horizontal. And OH got us a veggie curry yesterday, so I have been very lazy.
B: crumpets
L: leftover curry, yoghurtbeetroot and coconut soup - made it the other night. It's delicious.
S: apple and a cookieKeep reading books!
July grocery challenge START: £150.
total SPENT £127.53, REMAINING £22.37.0 -
Glad you're feeling a bit better wishus. Resting when you're poorly isn't lazy, it's good sense.
Another STS for me this week. I've given myself a talking to though and I'll be trying to follow SW from tomorrow as my sister is also following that plan and I still have the books indoors. I didn't start today as the HT's best friend (unmedicated ADHD) came for tea today and I knew the noise and activity would be stressful.
Today I cleaned the kitchen while I was making vegan condensed milk. A proper empty the cupboards and drawers kind of clean so everywhere is tidy and I know where everything is. The freezer inventory is done and after I'd finished making vegan Irish cream (for a friend, not for me) I nipped to Asda for a few bits that I needed to make complete meals with the food that is already in the fridge/freezer/cupboards. Fingers crossed for a stress free couple of weeks.
I'm off work tomorrow (working Friday, Saturday, Sunday) so I'm going to try and make a few freezer meals. making them shouldn't be a problem but getting them in the freezer might be :rotfl:
Our cat has short legs and doesn't climb too much. She only sneaks onto the table to see if my laptop is warm usually. Her long legged half sister who died earlier in the year climbed everything and could run along the tops of door frames. I never had to dust the curtan rails either.
Take care all of you0 -
Yes, Brambling, the tribbles are for a Star Trek themed birthday party in a couple of weeks. My little brother is turning 50 and he is a geek. My plan is to put one or two on the table (we are going to a restaurant to eat) then gradually add more as the evening goes on. I have made 10 so far and they are adorable. I can't stop giggling when I catch sight of them! :rotfl:
Like you, I am the relative with a sewing machine, so get called on for random sewing jobs. I think the idea about the cushion covers for Christmas is a good one.
Oops, Sirens, but I am sure if you nip it in the bud now, you will recover quickly and start 2020 a lot better than if you bury your head in the sand, like a lot of people do at this time of year, then regret it come January 1st. :T
s_glover, I am glad you had a STS rather than a gain and hope you can lose enough over the next few weeks (oh, gosh, not many now!) to have a decent loss by the end of this challenge.
I am glad you are feeling more human today, Wishus, don't worry about weight loss while you are ill, the important thing is to get better, you can tackle it full on then.
Beetroot and coconut soup does sound good and I am sure it looked very pretty too.
Good luck with the SW plan, Cranky40, I am sure it will be a great help. I shall cross my fingers for a stress free time for you.
The vegan Irish cream sounds lovely, I have been looking for the vegan Baileys, but had no luck around here. I may end up making my own instead, but not until nearer Christmas because it will be calling me otherwise.
OK, back to my sewing, my tribbles need their furry little bottoms sewn up, LOL! :rotfl:31.5/1000 -
Good evening, everyone
wishus I’m glad you’re starting to feel a bit better. I’ve had a couple of days out of action, too. Hope you’re soon up and doing.
FrugalLina, Brambling, s_glover, SIRENS thank you very much for your good wishes. Sadly I didn’t manage to avoid the cold, but for the moment it’s just a head cold.
SIRENS hopefully the new weight won’t get established and will come off quickly.
s_glover, CRANKY40 STS is good when achieved in the face of stress.
FrugalLina I had to look up “tribbles”, they look really cute. I bet your brother and other guests will be delighted.:)
I’ve been a bit fragile yesterday and today. Not only the cold, but also a stomach upset yesterday, so nothing got eaten until the evening.
Yesterday evening: porridge oats with raisins, sultanas, milk, and a pinch of salt; oatcake & Marmite at bedtime (for the aspirin).
Today:
B: fish fingers and fennel
L: almost grilled mushroom with goats cheese, salad, cinnamon yogurt (it was almost grilled because the oven packed up part way through . Still, it is 30 years old.)veg soup, tomato omelette with mixed vegetables, yogurt with rhubarb

STS is good.
One of my cats got onto the picture rail once (via the curtains) and swung along it like a monkey. It didnt look very comfortable for him but he was obviously pleased with himself.

I'm happy to declare a -3lb loss this week :j. Not sure how that happened but I hopped off the scales quickly just in case they changed their mind
Sirens well done on getting on the scales his week not easy when you're expecting a gain
Cranky, s_glover well done on the STS :T
FrugalLina the thought of multiplying tribbles made me smile, maybe because I'm old enough to remember the original Star Trek
Blue Doggy I hope you don't need a new oven this side of Christmas
You're right Honey there's seems to be one lurgy after another floating around the office and as my sister works with children she's often got something from the little darlings
A bad burst pipe at work over night meant no lifts and no ladies loo between floors 2 to 5 today and unfortunately we're the 5th floor  I was happy that I could climb the stairs without requiring oxygen but going down upset my knee which has been a little dodgy since i went to the theatre last Tuesday (the joys of being a plus size middle aged lady ) there was some rebellion by the ladies so the gents on the 4th floor was commandeered for us. The lift engineer was there as I left tonight to check the electrics were safe so hopefully there will be lifts tomorrow
B - porridge and fruit
L - another lunchtime meeting meant I was passed hunger at 2.30 so I had a pack of crisps
D - beans on toast

Hi all
Back from a lovely break yesterday. Can’t sleep so just checking in. Weighed in this morning with an STS. I think lots of walking balanced out any excess calories I had!
Today went like this -
B - slice of toast, butter, marmite
L - small ciabatta roll with chicken and a little avocado
D - spinach and feta tart with veg
S - still in “holiday” mood so had a glass of wine with dinner, plus an instant hot choc before bed to help me sleep. Clearly that didn’t work 😂0 -
Too late to edit my last post, but well done to all who have losses this week:)
Hope those with lurgys feel better soon.
Home made Baileys sounds good! Sadly, I think I’m going to have to ban myself from buying any this year; it’s only me that drinks it and I think it’s extra calories that I can’t afford to add to all the other Xmas indulgences!0
