Good morning everyone :hello:
I have woken up absolutely starving this morning but I have just had a couple of Weetabix and that seems to have filled me up.
I have a busy day today with nurses, occupational therapists, friends and family all wanting to come and see me. Hopefully they will space themselves out or it's going to be very crowded in here. I thought it would have died down a bit now I have been home from hospital for a couple of weeks but obviously not :rotfl:
My diet has been going well but I am still very tempted to secret eat when I am left alone....which is not that often thankfully. Old habits die hard though and there have been the odd marmite sandwich slipping through the crack. Still haven't touched chocolate for nearly 7 weeks now so I feel quite proud of myself for that as I used to eat 2 family sized bars a day.
Todays food looks like this:
b - Weetabix, milk and sweetener
l - chicken salad wrap, baked crisps
d - not sure yet but I fancy baked fish in batter and peas
s - apple, satsumas
Hope you all have a good day and make healthy choices, take care xxI ended up having a bite of my husband's chicken burger last night, because the portion of veg chilli was so teeny.
Today, I'm out but not far from my house, so I have a pre-cooked bolognese sauce to quickly eat before.
B: crumpets and marmite
L: goats cheese and herb salad sandwich, carrot sticks, strawberry Activiaspag bol
S: not sure... need fruit I think!
I thought everything was calorie free if it came from someone's plate?Blue_Doggy wrote: »Good evening, everyone

wishus hope tonight’s gig goes/went well.
Izadora commiserations and hugs. I hope you can draw a line under this week and start again tomorrow. Thank you for your kind words, I do find planning is key to keeping somewhere near the track, but ambushes can and do happen to all of us.
dumpling hoping your busy day went smoothly and wasn’t too tiring. Well done on staying off the chocolate :A.
This afternoon’s cream tea was delicious, and my friend and I had some good chat and laughter. I’m currently fighting the temptation to find and scoff “something” sweet, and keep having to utter the magic incantation “how fat do you want to be?” Luckily there’s nothing open at present, so rule xx applies: “if it’s not open, don’t open it”.
Blue Doggy’s Delectable Delights of the Day
B: plain porridge
L/S: apple
T: 2 fruit scones, strawberry jam, clotted cream, pot of teahm tomato soup, steamed haddock with fennel, peas and carrot, cinnamon yogurt
My problem is that if I ask myself "How fat do you want to be" my answer is that I dont really mind
Of course, I understand the health benefits blah blah blah, And I am (slowly) getting on with it, but I truly dont give a monkeys.
Todays food. Oh crikey i am ready for "Shady Pines" I havent the foggiest what I had! After consulting my tracking thing I can now report that I had...
Bacon, eggs, black pudding, mash, tomatoes, and a bite out of some monstrous thing that Slimming World are trying to pass off as sausage.
Coco pops with soya milk. (I havent had them for donkeys years. Bliss!)
Lots of ice cream.

Or as someone once asked me what do you want more to lose a lb or eat that cake
If I'm honest sometimes it's was more about the limited clothes choices and dreading an invite somewhere which involved 'dressing up' I still have a way to go but clothes shopping is a lot easier than it was especially as I live in a small town.
I know I'm lucky I have low blood pressure, low cholesterol and no sign of type 2 diabetes probably helped because I walk a lot and I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables (it's just the carp in between my meals which causes the problem) but I'm in my mid 50s now and my joints are beginning to cause me issues and I know my knees would like me to lose another 2.5 stones

Thank you for all the birthday and anniversary wishes, I had a fab time, eaten way to much, so far of the wagon that I can't even see it's tracks in the distance with binoculars. I did weigh in on Wednesday and had a sts but I am expecting a significant gain next Wednesday. Dh is still at his mums as she is still in hospital, although the op went well.
Well done all those who have lost and hugs to those that didn't, make a (Large) space on the step for me as I'll be needing it. Xx'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Glad you had a good day Sirens and well done on STS, you've still got a few days to catch up with the wagon and hop back on
I went out for lunch at the local farm shop cafe with my sister for a [STRIKE]gossip[/STRIKE] chat up and put the world to rights. It was a grey day so no inclination to do much outside the house
B -
L - smoked salmon pate and two thick slices of bread - we left before being tempted by their delicious cake
D - roast beef, mash root veg (carrot, swede, parsnip and celeriac) red cabbage with cranberries and cauliflower- no potatoes or Yorkshire pudding but a small knob of butter in the mash
S - mini coconut meringuesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Having a fab time is as important for your well being as being slimmer
Todays food...
Egg on toast, raw carrots, grapefruit.
Coco pops. (the last of the box and thats probably a good thing)
Mash, peas, stewing steak in gravy.
I have got an orange aero lurking at the back of the cupboard and the front of my mind. :undecided0 -
Good evening all
FrugalLina well done (cappuccino).I hope your parcel has turned up.
Brambling giving chocolate biscuits to the workers is not kind!. I’m glad you had a lovely lunch with your sister - the best use of a grey damp day like today.
honeythewitch we all have different reasons for trying to lose weight, and what works for one doesn’t make sense for another.you are so right about the importance of enjoying life.
SIRENS glad you had happy celebrations, I’m sure you’ll catch up with your wagon soon.
I have to get tough with myself. In early 2017, I couldn’t shift the half stone I’d put on at Christmas, was the heaviest I’ve ever been, and was going to have to buy clothes the next size up. A restricted calorie diet wasn’t shifting any (I was even starting to gain). By chance I read about the diet I now follow, lost two and a half stone in three months, and have only put the half stone back on. Earlier this year a health check showed borderline high blood pressure so I must get serious about my diet again & lose another two stone (half a stone has gone since I joined you lovely people here - thank you :T. I really couldn’t have done it without your support.).
Anyway, eaten today was
B: bacon & eggs
L: mackerel salad, yogurt with cinnamon
S: 3 oatcakes with a scrape of jam on each (to cheer up the dull day)tomato soup, lambs liver stir-fried with fridge-bottom oddments, cinnamon with yogurt

Hello everyone,
Well Done to any losses and sts and to those that have gained ... I know you can pull it back. Sorry I have not managed to check in every day. I will try to this week.
I find diet and money a struggle. I could buy just healthy food in the house but the family would miss out on their little luxuries ..... I am trying to find a balance and find cheap cheap and healthy, so I still have money left for their extras. This week I have on the menu Salad (while boys have carbonara) , Chicken and leek pie with tons of greens , sausage rounds mash n veg , lentil and spinach korma , HM turkey burgers , veg packed slow cooker chilli , and Salad (while boys have cheese and potato pie.
I'm going to try get in my 10,000 steps by walking and exercise monday to friday this week. But will relax more Sat and Sun and going to make sure to up my water as I'm sure I am not drink enough.
Oh I was not even going to weigh in as I thought I would have stayed the same or gained that lb from last week back , as is my norm. But nope ...... I lost 2lbs ......yep -2LB I am still in shock here sitting with my coffee, as none of my days have gone right really...... but I have tried to keep half and eye on it. It motivated me ..... this week I'm going to keep both eyes on it !! lol
Today :
Coffees at the moment
Breakfast : Grapefruit with sugar
Dinner :I'm making chicken, bacon and leek pie ... boiled new potatoes and greens. Not sure of the amount but I expect it is a good 900 calorie meal eeeeeeek.
Tea : slice of sour dough with marmite
water and for my exercise ... I'm in the middle of a big clear out so .. continue with that today.

Good morning everyone :hello:
I'm popping on to report a 2lb loss this morning. I weighed in a day early as I just felt thinner. I also wanted to make myself a big fat cheese and ham toastie so I thought if I have lost weight this week I won't be so tempted by it
. It worked as now I am happy to have my usual Sunday breakfast of dippy eggs and soldiers.
My meals today look like this:
b - dippy eggs and soldiers
l - tuna wrap with salad
d - slow cooked beef with loads of veggies and a baked potato
s - banana and an apple
Hope you all have a great day and make healthy choices xx0 -
Good morning all,
Went AWOL again - tired and stressed are not a good combination. I think a lot of us here handle stress by eating, sigh. Anyway I have a STS to report for last Tuesday and probably the same again next Tuesday but we'll see.
Hopefully nothing else will go wrong for the forseeable. The electric tripped on Sunday night - just the sockets so I went to look for the problem. We've been able to smell a strange smell downstairs for weeks. I've run the washing machine empty in case it was that and decided that I probably needed to pull the washing machine out to look behind it. When I checked on Sunday night the only things out of the ordinary that were on were the dishwasher and the cat's dodgy heated mat from China. I unplugged both and the electric stayed on.
When I finished what I was doing I pulled the washing machine out (about 10pm). The dishwasher is plugged in to the same double socket and the dishwaher plug was very hot. I pulled it out and the socket behind the plug was black. Luckily I managed to find a lovely local electrician who came on Monday, repaired the socket and put a new plug on the dishwasher. He also checked to make sure that the other sockets were safe in case they'd been wired up by th same eejit.
Fast forward to Wednesday and there was a further education open evening that the HT wanted to go to in Liverpool. I worked until 4pm, came home, changed into dry, clean clothes and off we went. Pub tea in Wetherspoons (no dessert) and an interesting couple of hours out. A very positive evening but the next day we were both tired and sore (hypermobile joints for those that don't know us).
Tired lasted right the way through until Saturday morning and then I had work again at mid day. I do feel more normal today though and I don't have work until Tuesday now thank goodness.
Well done to everyone who has lost, Izadora you sound like you've been following the same eating plan as me this week except I try to kill the stress with gin and diet tonic.
Take care all of you0 -
Hi everyone, sorry I forgot to pop by yesterday, it was a busy day (as was today, I have a small weekend job, although I am trying to be a retired person, really).
Anyway, food has been good, so I am hoping to have lost when I weigh in tomorrow.
Brambling, your senior manager needs to think of healthier ways to reward you - flowers or fruit would be nice!
I am glad your wool is safe. :rotfl:
Honeythewitch, I am rather the same, if my weight didn't impact my health (we have heart conditions in our family and both my parents died early due to heart failure), I wouldn't be bothered.
Having said that, like Brambling I am looking forward to being able to buy clothes in normal shops in normal sizes instead of all the worry of being able to find something half decent for special occasions. Also, as you get older, many joints begin to grumble.
Sirens, I am very glad you had a fab birthday and anniversary and well done on the STS and fingers crossed for next week. I am glad your MiL's op went well.
BlueDoggy, yes my BP goes up when I am overweight too, well done on doing so well on losing that half a stone, the rest will come off in time too and you will have one less thing to worry about.
Debbiedodge, and Dumpling well done on your loss of 2lbs each - that is fantastic, yay! :j
Cranky40, I am sorry about your stress and at least you have had a STS, you have got the hang of maintaining, which is the hardest part of any diet. :rotfl:
I am glad you got to the bottom of the electric fault and I hope everything is safe now.
Oh and my parcel did turn up - it had been delivered to the wrong address and they found it. Phew! :T31.5/1000
