Thanks so much for the welcome everyone:)
I’m going to aim for 7lbs loss by the end of the quarter... hope I’m not overreaching, but will give it my best.
I’ll have to start gently by cutting out the naughties between meals to begin with.
    So today’s plan -
    B - nothing
L - soup, crackers, small piece of cheese
D - salmon, small scoop of mash, salad with low fat dressing
    S - fruit if wanted
  • Thanks Wishus, I have a Fitbit and use it for my exercise, but I must confess to not using many of the other functions. I will have to take a look at them and use it more, that will probably be enough, I think.

    Hello x
Thanks Wishus for the links - I have just worked out my BMI and it is not as bad as feared!!!
Keep positive Im plodding around making trips to the bin and the garage and doing the stairs regularly. I know it doesn't sound much but it is for me x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Good evening everyone :)

SIRENS All best wishes for tomorrow for your birthday, and congratulations on your wedding anniversary :T:T. Enjoy your cake!

Bfh Hi and welcome :hello: everyone here is very friendly and supportive.

tighteningthebelt your menu sounds really tasty! :)

Izadora good to see you again. Being busy at work does make it hard to stick to eating healthily, so just being aware of what you’re eating is a good foundation to build on.

    wishus that looks good :)

FrugalLina thank you for your support :). I hope your boiler gets fixed properly tomorrow.

Molly41 excellent news on the BMI! it sounds as though you’re doing really well, keeping moving even if only mundane things is key. I often deliberately make extra journeys up the stairs to get the benefit of the “built-in exercise equipment”.

Today I made a big pot of tomato soup (ten portions, seven now in the freezer).

    Food of the day:
    B: plain porridge
L: cottage cheese and salad, five oatcakes, one apple, marmalade yogurt
D: tomato soup, grilled lamb leg steak with parsnip, butternut squash, celery and cavolo nero, yogurt with raspberries.
S: 2 chocolate biscuits (out with friends).

  • It looks like you found your wagon and climbed aboard, BlueDoggy, well done!

Bfh, that seems like an achievable goal and it will be great to start the new year feeling lighter instead of heavier like most people. :j

Good news on your BMI, Molly, you are doing so well with your recovery, you are quite an inspiration!:A

Well I am hoping tonight is my last night of being too cold, hooray! :T

    Evening all :)

Bfh I've added you to the list :). I seem to overreach my target every quarter  no one counts :D

If it was easy Izadora the likes of SW and WW wouldn't still be going strong after 50 years :grouphug: all we can do is keep trying :)

FrugalLina my airfryer isn't anything fancy, but it does me :). I do things like crumbed fish or chicken, scotch eggs as well as jacket potato (tastes like oven baked ones) quorn steaks and falafels etc which you can cook from frozen, small pizzas and pastry things (not now obviously :)) And chips or potato wedges I probably don't use it as much as I could but it saves putting the oven on just for one. My kitchen isn't big so it gets swapped out with the slow cooker, electric pressure cooker and toaster

I agree it looks like you've managed to hop back onto the wagon Blue Doggy :)

I'm not long back from the local theatre it was an Evening with Eric and Ernie tonight with half price tickets using my friend of the venue card :money: it brought back loads of memories from my childhood where we all sit down to watch the Morecambe and Wise Show on Saturday night :) and obviously being a audience of a certain age we all knew what was coming next :D and finished with everyone singing along to Bring me Sunshine :)

    B - porridge and fruit
L - same as yesterday mixed grains, vegetables and bacon, mini crustless quiche
D - same as lunch as I was late home from work and I could ping the last of it :)
S - fibre one brownie, Twiglets, grapes

  • I would enjoy air fried chips, Brambling, and I would like the economy of using it instead of the oven. I will put it on my wishlist, maybe Santa will get it for me (ha).

What a fun evening - that would bring back memories, they were good in their heyday and I can remember some hilarious skits they did (as well as the song).

    Morning everyone,

Well the last couple of days have been ok, still busy, not sure whats happened to my life lately as busy is all it is lol. I had a plan for the past two days but never stuck to it at all and have eat lots of bread. Way too much. not lots of food mind you. So I am reigning in the bread from today and adding more veggies.

I had a sneaky weigh in and I am still the same so perhaps no damage done ...... so time to make it go down instead.

    Today :
B : Tin of Grapefruit and tsp sugar
L : x2 eggs on 1 slice of toasted tiger loaf (needs used still lol) and a little butter
D : Butter chicken, a poppadom and broccoli on side
    S : tangerine

    plus All the water

Calories according to My Fitness Pal 1245 (seems a little low.... I will reweigh and scan as I go I guess) I am aiming for 1700 a day :-/

    Have a nice day :-)

  • Afternoon everybody,
Just checking in in to confess I had a sandwich yesterday while I was out in the city.
Today I'm having a roast chicken dinner at my friend's house.
I feel like I have lost the grip of it a little bit this week. Anyway I'll just keep on keeping on and catch up with everybody's posts tomorrow.

    Happy birthday sirens
    Happy boiler frugalina

Have a nice day everybody - lovely to see the sunshine!
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks
