  • bluedoggy well done! :j you are on a roll!!

frugalina I expect it's being without a boiler for a week that's made you poorly. Hope you have a good warm this weekend. Well done for getting back on the wagon so quickly.

  • I think you could be right, tighteningthebelt, I have been cold and I suppose it has upset my immune system.

Roll on Weds when the boiler manufacturer comes and fixes it!

    Evening all :)

Congratulations Tighteningthebelt, Debbie and Blue Doggy lots of smiles this week :T:T:T

Sorry FrugalLina, I was brought up to share ;). Hope you're feeling better this evening and you're not too cold. You did well in not letting a blip sabotage you, it's so easy to say I've ruined this week and blow the whole week

Another day of culture for me, opera screening from NY met, Madam Butterfly because it was the encore it was 2pm which is a strange time  the friend I go with is a bit of a opera snob so I have to tune her out during the intervals. I've got another couple of things to go watch Tuesday and Wednesday, I must stop reading their emails :p

I had brunch today as I had to be out 1.30pm potato Farl, scrambled egg, smoked salmon trimmings and saute spinach. Dinner was roast chicken thigh, Savoy cabbage stirred fried with onion, garlic and bacon, braised leeks and celery

When the oven was on I cooked some mini crustless quiches using up the salmon trimmings. There's also enough LO braised celery to blitz and make a portion of soup. I cooked a mixture of diced veg and bacon and added to a sachet of rice and mixed grains which will do for a couple of meals next week. That's most of lurking veg used up I just have a half a red cabbage which I'll probably use the last of the cranberries and a large cauliflower which seemed a good idea at the time of buying  you know when they're all the same price so you grab the biggest :o

  • Morning all,
    Todays grub...
Veggie tagine with jackets, cheese, and hot cherry tomatoes
    Stewed apple and custard

Lovely son home for a few days work experience ... bread and marmite in the house... wish me luck!!! I put his packed lunch crisps in his room so I would actually have to steal from my own child to let myself down!! Its reminded me that those of you with kids about, and husbands, must have to have so much willpower. Impressive.

    Happy Mondays!! :)

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I have put a 1lb on this week which I am annoyed with myself. Too many little snacks and my portion sizes have been creeping up too. Oh well, it is what it is and this week I will do a lot better.

I will make a soup to have for lunches as it is a bit chilly here and I am getting a little fed up of salads. We still have a pumpkin left over from Halloween so if it is still any good I will make a spicy pumpkin and carrot soup.

My meals today look like this:

    b - 2 Weetabix, milk and sweetener
    l - soup
    d - tuna pasta bake
    s - apple

Hope you all have a good day and good luck to the Monday weighers, take care xx
  • I love Madam Butterfly, Brambling, it is super that you are getting to enjoy so much culture lately. :)

Tighteningthebelt, enjoy having your son with you and good tactic to hide the crisps. I struggled with one of the Walkers Christmas edition crisps as I bought a multipack to give to my DiL (who hates brussel sprouts with a passion) as a joke, but they have been in my pantry nearly a week and have been calling me. Luckily, if I don't open the pack, I am OK. Besides only the brussel sprout flavour ones were vegan and that was the whole point of me getting them, so I couldn't eat those. Anyway, safely delivered to DiL last night and I tasted them too, they were OK and DiL even enjoyed them. Freeze the bread if you can, it was bread that was my downfall on Thurs and Fri, the birds had it in the end. :o

Dumpling that pound is probably just your body adjusting after the big loss recently, hopefully, it will be off again by next weigh in.

My loss this week is just 1lb, but that does mean I have lost a quarter of the total I need to lose. Just got to do this 3 times more!

Well done FrugalLina :T, you're chipping away at those pounds

Dumpling your body is still recovering from being so ill, I think you said you have lost 5 stone since you went into hospital so it's allowed a small blip :)

Tighteningthebelt just remember to send him home with any lurking 'shouldn't eats' speaking of which I was led astray in W8itrose lunchtime as well as the fruit and veg a half price panettone seems to have fallen into my shopping basket  it will need to be hidden in the spare bedroom and rationed out at Christmas :wall: luckily they were out of the half price stollen :o

Today the idiots seem to be comiing out of the woodwork, the boss has said i can't remove all their rights to our systems  even if it is a good idea :rotfl: some of these people go out on site and meet customer  it's just as well the office biscuit tin is empty, although I will need to bring in the ones in from home i brought for the gardeners

B - usual porridge and fruit
L - mixed grains with bacon and diced vegetables, clemintine, grapes
D - not sure - if i can be bothered a small beef joint with green beans and roast root veg (it will probably end up in freezer) otherwise crumbed chicken thighes airfried with airfried chips and some veg
S - fibre one brownie bar

  • Well done frugalina that's terrific! :j

dumpling you have been very poorly so I'm sure it will all settle down as you get better. Just keep on keeping on for now.

brambling your smoked salmon quiches sound really tasty, might put salmon on the list for next shop. Hope you dont mind me asking but ould you change my running total lost this quarter to 14.5? I see you have already added the smiles but not changed the number. Thank you so much.
