    Happy birthday, sirens

Weight day for me and an STS - well, it's a fraction of a lb, but let's not go crazy. Only a deficit of 2500 which is why (yes, cake!). You need about 3500 for a half-pound loss, I believe.

I feel like Rachel Riley! Well, not Rachel Riley as she is right now...

    Plan for today:
B: overnight oats with prune activia, a square of grated dark chocolate and a spoon of chia seeds.
L: aubergine and pumpkin korma with turmeric rice.
    D: mystery sandwiches.
S: if I feel hungry before I leave the office, I have some YS melon.

  • Good evening everyone :)

wishus a fraction in the right direction is good, especially when cake has been involved :)

tighteningthebelt enjoy your roast chicken dinner! I hope the sandwich was good, too :).

debbiedodge well done on holding the line in spite of the bread. :)

Brambling the show sounds good fun! Your description of your airfryer got me looking at them, like yours my kitchen is small.:)

FrugalLina did the man fix your boiler ok? I hope you’re enjoying the warmth. :)

Well, I may have made a jump at the waggon, but I tumbled off again yesterday :(:o:mad:. You know how we hide things to make it difficult to succumb to their alluring charms? Even to putting a well-wrapped packet of chocolate biscuits in the freezer and forgetting about it? And not finding it until rearranging the freezer to fit a new batch of soup in? “Oh, what’s this?” ................. All gone now :D!

    Anyway, trying again:
    B: fish fingers and tomatoes
L: herb omelette with salad, yogurt with raspberries
D: veg soup, aubergine fennel & tomato bake, apple with yogurt

I’m spending the evening watching cookery programmes - probably not the best idea! :D
    Today’s food
    B - none
L - Ham and (very thin sliced) cheese sandwich
D - sausage, a little mash, lots of veg
    S - packet of sunbites 😳
Doesn’t look great but it’s a win by my standards of the last few weeks! Baby steps!

STS as well for me, i will admit to being disappointed with myself as I thought I had been better than that

My airfryer isn't a actifry so it doesn't have a paddle, it's one with a basket which you shake your chips or just turn food over. If you're making chips using cold cooked new potatoes makes really nice ones with a touch of oil.

My final trip out this week, this time we went to a live screening of a Shakespeare play Timon’s of Athens which wasn't one I was familiar with, quiet with only a few of us there but I enjoyed it :). And the next one booked for a couple of weeks :p

Debbie I also have a weakness for cookery programs

Blue Doggy I have been known to 'hide' chocolate under the stairs behind the emergency gin :p. Unfortunately I hide it so I know where it is

B - usual porridge and fruit
L - braised celery soup - unfortunately it was too salty
D - seafood and avocado sandwich- I knew I would be pushed for time and was led astray by a nice farmhouse loaf in the supermarket  I may have to rehome the rest or regret it
S - grapes and a mince pie (someone left a box on the table at work)

  • I need a pep talk. I've drifted off course this week and my impetus has ebbed away. I'm getting back at the helm today, now, to get the Good Ship Healthy Weight back on course.

I had a lovely meal at my friends, calorific and lovely! Loads of courses... Soup and olive bread, avocado salad, canneloni, chicken dinner, cake and ice cream, wine. I had all of it! Oh dear. Then I didn't sleep well because we ate late and my belly didn't know what to do with the volume. Once that was sorted out I had nasty leg cramps and spent the second half of the night getting annoyed about that, so I'm off to a sterling start today - virtually no sleep and wooden legs!! Moan over.

Today I'm going to rein it in and only have eggs on a toast at lunch and some sauteed tomato-onion-peppers-herbs with wilted spinach and an orange at teatime. A detox!

Have a good day everyone. We are all doing well! :)
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

Yesterday's mystery sandwiches were coronation chicken! Or chikken tikka... very nice anyway.

Started a hot chocolate and had to leave it as I was logging and I had run out of calories.

    Today's plan:
B: crumpet swith butter and marmite
L: egg and herb salad sandwiches with carrot, fig yoghurt.

D: checked the menu of a gig I'm at tonight and have picked veggie chilli and rice.
    S: melon, alcohol free cider.
    Keep reading books!

Thanks for all of the encouragement. I'd like to say that I'm back on track but I was working from home yesterday and ridiculously busy so ended up grabbing biscuits and crisps instead of any proper food. I had a very sensible dinner (veggie toad-in-the-hole with loads of veg) but my mum was having a bad day so I ended up drinking vast quantities of wine. One day I'll find a healthier coping strategy... :o

Sirens I hope you had a good birthday and anniversary.

I hope everyone has a good day xx
  • Hello all. :)
