Good evening everyone
Lots has been happening, I see. Congratulations to those who’ve lost weight and commiserations to those who’ve put some on.
Good health to those who are or have been poorly , and warm wishes to those who are cold in this chilly weather.
If anyone sees my waggon, could they send it back please? I fell off it and need to get back on pronto. The medicinal choccie biccie yesterday turned somehow into three, and has infected today’s menu.
Which was:
B: bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes (that’s ok, just as planned)
L: errr ... two mugs of coffee, six chocolate biscuits, two apples (plan was mackerel salad ... oh dear.)veg soup, aubergine fennel & tomato bake, yogurt with raspberries
(that was planned)
S: mini Jaffa cakes, at least four but I lost count(meetings, wretched meetings!)
Good news, I’m right out of chocolate biscuits now:eek::)

Evening All
Well a very average day for me today, work pottered along nicely, not too busy but enough so that boredom did not set in.
Well done on the losses FrugalLina and Tighteningthebelt , excellent.
Dumpling, I'm sure your body is still settling in I'm sure that 1lb will drop of in no time xx
Speaking of caketarianism, I declare forewarning that I shall be indulging on Wednesday as it is my birthday (and wedding anniversary) I shall try to keep myself as reigned in as possible though, we are supposed to have a meal out at the weekend but mil is have a knee replacement on Friday so dh is going down to stay for a couple of days to help her get about so we will have to postpone. Anyway I shall weigh in on Wednesday as usual (before cake!)
Today's meals
B porridge, berries
L lo lemon chicken and rice, apple
D lo spag Bol. Might have a small biscuit later with my tea
Debbiebodge, you are doing well, hope your son is feeling better. I, like Brambling follow SW and have been since sept 2017, I did go to meetings at the start but just follow from home, I'm not always on plan so it's been slow going for me since I started I've lost just over 4 1/2 stone but I find it easier than calorie counting and weighing food.'You have brains in your head. Hi
I wondered would it be ok to join you? No worries if you’re midway through a challenge and I’m too late to join in, it’s just that I think the thread is a really good idea for a bit of group support and staying accountable without the expense of paying for weekly meetings ( and in my case, following a plan that has me thinking about food all the time and becoming more and more obsessed with it!)
I’d really like to try and lose weight by simply eating a bit less!0 -
Welcome Bfh  new faces are always welcomed
just let me know what you want as a target to the end of the quarter and I'll add you to the list.

Morning all
Welcome bfh :hello: I find accountability really helpful too, though I dont like the idea of paying for a group, or going out on winter nights!
Tonight's food will be; gammon from the slow cooker, roast potatoes carrots and leeks. Stewed apples and custard.
Tomorrow I'm having tea at my friend's house so that'll be totally out of my control! I'm also eating with friends on Saturday evening though I'm cooking then so that should be easier.
I've just realised I can dictate this text rather than typing it, which is great fun!
Have a great day everybodyA bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks0 -
Hi All,
Sorry for the quietness - a combination of being busy at work and fed up with myself for my inability to eat healthily for more than about half a day - and well done to those who've had losses and commiserations to those who feel they're on the naughty step. I fear I may be there for quite some time so at least you'll have some company...
Hi Bfh and best of luck to all for the week ahead0 -
Much better day yesterday.
Made huge progress in trying to incorporate a bit more green stuff into my meals. Not only was last night's curry an aubergine one, I added in half a small squash too to make 2 portions, 1 I'll keep for lunch tomorrow. And then I looked at my protein intake for the day and thought, whoops, better make that a low fat korma rather than a tomato-based one.
No yoghurt, so improvised with:
Base:
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cumin
1.5 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp chilli
Dry fried, dash of water to unstick
then 1/2 aubergine
1/2 munchkin pumpkin
Cooked until soft, then added
20g cashews
25g almonds (nuts whizzed and ground)
10g creamed coconut
2 tsps slaked cornflour
50ml semi-skimmed milk
Served with 55g basmati rice dry weight, plus a dash of turmeric
Better, but not enough protein for my veggie day, so will have some meat today.
B: 1 crumpet and egg
L: houmous and avocado sandwiches, carrot stick, Activia prune yoghurtspaghetti bolognese.

Hi everyone, just one more day until my boiler is fixed, yay! Thanks for the kind wishes about my lb loss this week.
Wishus, please tell us more about the NHS health app, I looked in the app store and can't find it. I would like an app that has a record and makes a graph, but can't find anything. I tried My Fitness Pal, but didn't like it.
Your curry sounds delicious, I will have to try it.
Brambling, sorry about your PIA day yesterday, I hope today is better!
Please tell me more about your air fryer - I have been meaning to get one for years, but I don't know if I will use it enough.
Blue Doggy, draw a line under yesterday and start afresh today, the cold weather seems to trigger something in us to eat more and that coupled with those meetings makes it very hard, so it isn't your fault.
Tighteningthebelt, how fun dictating text, I have poor eyesight and struggle to see my mobile phone and sometimes use that facility to send texts, never occurred to me to try it here.
Sirens, you are allowed cake once a year, I feel, so have a great day tomorrow and tell us all about it so we can enjoy your cake vicariously through you! :rotfl:
Hi Bfh, welcome to the fold, it is a great place to be and very helpful to keep you on the right track.
Izadora, you are still showing up and being accountable, it is when that stops that you are in trouble. Weight management is a complicated thing and we are at the mercy of a lot of different factors - a lot of it is beyond our control, we just have to keep trying our best and sometimes we do great and sometimes we struggle, but we plod on regardless.
Pop on here and tell us when you are feeling the food calling and we can chat and try to talk you down, LOL.
That goes for everyone who is finding it difficult. I am here for you as you are here for me (for which I am forever grateful)! :A31.5/1000 -
H FrugalLina - I'm on Fitbit, MyFitnesspal, here and now Health Unlocked. Everything does different things.
Fitbit will do all the graphs and things and you don't need a Fitbit - you can just use mobile track if your smart phone is compatible, or use base sedentary calories.
The NHS one is healthunlocked - one word.
It's more of a tips and accountability 12 week programme. You need a way of calorie counting, either manually using the NHS calorie checker or something like MFP or Fitbit.
https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/calorie-checker/
You can then either use the app, or do it manually with PDFs https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/start-the-nhs-weight-loss-plan/
I thought I'd try the app to account for 5-a day and logged exercise, get the ticks. I am not really recommending it as very user friendly, probably good for exercising mental arithmetic, but have a look at the site see if it works for you.Keep reading books!
