    Ugh, I am poorly!

Ate too much on Saturday just trying to feed the fever, but struggled yesterday. I'm going to try to cobble a soup together now. Healthful soup! Trying to think liquids, vitamins, veg, honey. Those weird herbal tablets that smell like cat pee... Not counting cough sweets. Not getting many steps in. Have not yet spent my flu voucher either. It's not flu. It's rubbish, that's what it is.

  • Sorry about your difficult weeks s_glover, but well done on getting back on track with the healthy snacks and lunch! :)

Thank you BlueDoggy about the lbs lost this week, I am so glad to make that 2stone mark. Thanks for answering my question about nails, it is all a mystery to me as mine too are kept short these days. But not for long!

Fingers crossed that cold doesn't develop fully.

Oh no, Wishus! Get well soon. :)

Well done on the 2.5lb and especially the 2 stone in total FrugalLina :T:T:T. You're doing fantastic :)

Wishus and Blue Doggy I hope you both feel better tomorrow :)

S_Glover remember our no judgment rule which especially includes ourselves :) so no more hanging your head in shame, I'll get my ruler out to draw that line

Hi everyone, really impressed with how you are all getting on, great work :)

I'm hanging my head in shame as the last 2 weeks have been just as bad as the ones before. I've had the odd good day but on the whole my diet has been pretty awful. Anyways, no point looking back so focusing on the here and now I've got a drawer full of fruit with me at work today and some tasty looking soup for lunch. Hoping to turn a corner and get myself back in a better frame of mind before we head off for a long weekend away at the end of next week.

I've avoided the scales this morning (again), at the moment I'm just wanting to get my head back in a better place and I don't think the numbers on the sales are going to help. Hopefully a few days of good eating will.

Sometimes our heads are in just the right place for weight loss and it comes easy, and other times every day is a struggle. Well done for looking forwards and carrying on. :)

Yay, well done BlueDoggy on your 1lb loss this week. :T

Brambling, now I am wanting cauliflower cheese. A vegan friend of mine buys a very easy vegan sauce, I wonder if that is less calorific? I will investigate, although I suspect it is very highly processed, which I do try and avoid. :)

Well done on the sewing, even if you were "helped" by your cat.

Honeythewitch, you are right about cheap foods being the unhealthy ones, I wince every time I buy fruit these days as it is so expensive. I know I am buying less because I am eating less, but the shopping bill is higher than ever.

Oh, Cranky40, cats are a law unto themselves. My cat is terribly spoilt (elderly rescue cat), she has a large "Who Gives a Carp" toilet roll box with 2 pillows, 2 blankets a heat pad and a large blanket over it. She loves it and it kept her warm during The Big Boiler Blackout of last week. :rotfl:

Well, I am delighted to report a loss of 2.5lbs this week, which brings me to exactly 2 stone off. :j:j:j

That means I can now book my reward which is a manicure. My nails have become brittle as I have aged and they never look nice. If anyone has any advice as to what treatment to get, I would be very grateful to hear. I don't want to be tied into spending a lot every month so I want something that will last and is practical (I hate the over long ones) and won't damage my nail bed any further. Acrylics? Gels? I just don't know. :o

Yay! :j Well done, Frugalina. :D

I hope you are feeling better soon, Wishus. i think a good sleep helps a lot.

Are the wee tablets echinacea? :D

    Today I have had

    Beef/pepper/mushroom curry and brown rice.

Mushroom soup and rolls. (It was supposed to be a wholewheat noodle and prawn stirfry, but I didnt like the look of it when it was done)

    Frozen banana.

I never had a problem with my cats going onto the kitchen worktops or table, and I assumed this was because I was a talented cat trainer..... until we got the junior cat, who jumped straight up on the sink within half an hour of arriving, and has persuaded the other two that food preparation surfaces are ideal locations to sit and lick their bottoms  and I cant seem to make them stop, no matter what I do. :o
I have tried wiping various essential oils to put them off, ignored them, left empty cans on the edges to clatter when they jump up, all for nothing. They have got warm, heated, comfy beds boxes and adventure tunnels galore, but they prefer the hard cold worktops.
  • Thank you for all your support. Yesterday wasn't quite the day I had planned, although I did get plenty of fruit, veg and salad, just some of the unhealthier options sneaked in too.

    Today is another day.

Hope those of you suffering from lurgies are feeling better soon.

Honeythewitch I had 2 types of pee tablet - the Echinacea and the herbal sleepy tablets!
    Today's plan:
I am work with tea, vitamin drink and bovril, all the cough sweets, tissues, painkillers and pee tablets. Non-drowsy.

    Real food:
    B: crumpets
L: pasta salad with chicken, avocado and cherry tomatoes
D: I have some beetroot and coconut soup left from yesterday, but I might keep that for tomorrow. Fish and chips. :)

  • Thanks Brambling, I am feeling much better for the 2 stone off already.

Honeythewitch, thank you also. Also, cats, the term copycat was invented for a reason! Little tikes.

s_glover, just keep on trying, every day is a fresh new start. :)

I hope all the meds help you Wishus, mine turned out not to be too bad after day 3, so I hope your cold is just as light.

I am getting some housework done today, but hope to get out for a walk inbetween the showers.

Later, I will be sewing tribbles (as you do)! :rotfl:

My current cat was five when I got him so came with bad habits and because he had obviously been mistreated I haven't wanted to raise my voice with him, some days we play a game of I remove him from the table and turn my back and he gets back on  he doesn't get on the kitchen worktops (at least not when I'm home) but I think he was fed on them previously but we compromise I keep the draining board clear when I cook so he can get on the kitchen window sill and supervise :)

FrugalLina am I right in thinking Star Trek when you talk Tribbles?

Blue Doggy, Wishus I hope you're both feeling better :)

Late lunch today as my 12.30 telephone conference didn't finish until 14.30 and it was too wet to walk

I popped around to my sister when I got home to hand over the sewing I did for her and turn a deaf ear to a hint about some cushion covers, maybe a Christmas gift as I have some fabric I know she would like and would go with her decor depends if I have time

    B - porridge and fruit
L - chicken laksa and noodles
    D. Cold roast beef with LO veg

    Morning All
Well as expected a gain of +3lb for me, to be honest it was better than I expected, although I think that takes me back to the start again. Still not to worry I shall try my hardest up to the end of the year.

Wishus and Blue Doggy hope you both are on the mend xx
    Well done FrugalLina :T

Our cats do not get on the work or table tops, although when we are out I'm sure they are lounging all over the place, before having cats, I always imagined them to be very graceful, however ours our both a bit klutzy, particularly the black one, she takes ages to jump anywhere, you can see her calculating it in her head, and pretty much keeps her feet on the ground. The tabby is much more agile but does have a habit of sleeping on the arms of the chairs and then falling off.

Work day today and then off for the rest of the week, need a good tidy up before the :xmastree: goes up! I know we are early but we always try to put it up the last weekend of November.

    Food for today
    B porridge, fruit
L lo rice and chicken (took it out the freezer, looks like it might be curried
    ?) pear
D probably jacket pot and salad.

After a positive day yesterday I plucked up the courage to step on the scales this morning. Pleased to report an STS from previously, however I'm still heavier than at the start of the challenge, so much work to be done!
