Well done tighteningthebelt :T:T that's a nice consistent 2lb a week :). Blue Doggy it looks like you recovered what you thought would be a gain :T

Hope you had a better day today Honey, some days you feel you should just stay in bed :)

It looks like you are making steady progress Molly and a puppy will certainly keep you on your toes, what kind are you getting?

Another wet day here :( so other than a trip out for petrol and going to fix a former neighbours email problem (which turned out to be a couple of minutes) I've stayed in and pottered.

    B -
L - cheese, apple packet of crisps
D - gammon, Boulangere potatoes with celeriac, cauliflower with mozzarella cheese. I decided on a low calorie version of cauliflower cheese but the low fat mozzarella was tasteless so I wouldn't do that again. Followed by a bowl of pineapple
S - banana, fibre one brownie

  • Evening/Morning everyone. :)

It started off well. Oat bran, boiled egg. pear. :)

Then I was ravenously hungry all day and by the time i got home at six o clock I was beyond making dinners, so everyone else had frozen pizza and I had cheese butties followed by Alpro ice cream, which was underwhelming.

I will have to have a permanent supply of pre-made food in the fridge from now on.

    Morning All
Well off back to work today, still pain in my elbow but have taken my tablets and shall hope for the best.
Mixed bag of a weekend, very well behaved on Saturday but not so good on Sunday!
Well done on your loss tighteningthebelt excellent result.
Honeythewitch what an awful day, hopefully you got it all out in one day.
Brilliant progress Molly and how lovely to have a new fluff to start of the new year.

    Today's plan
    B porridge, fruit
L something from freezer have taken out a random assortment of low fat meals to last the next few days.
D I made a big vat of low fat tomato soup to last a couple of days so that, there is also chicken left over from yesterday so maybe a chicken salad to go with.

Have a lovely day everyone x

  • I hope the weather improves for you Brambling, we've had too much rain lately.

I did manage to get out during a brief break in the rain yesterday, so I got a short walk in at least.

I found another pair of unworn jeggings in my "sports" drawer (old running and cycling gear, that I cling to hopes of being able to use again one day). Anyway, I must have bought the jeggings just as my weight began to soar last year :o and they obviously didn't fit. They are still too small for me right now, but soon they will fit, hopefully.

Honeythewitch, premade food in the fridge or freezer is a good idea - there is nothing worse than being tired and hungry and the effort of making something healthy seems too much when unhealthy food is all too easy. :T

Sirens, congratulations on being back to work, I hope the elbow doesn't give you too much trouble.

I weighed in this morning and have lost 3lbs this week. It is beginning to slow down now and soon it will be 1 or 2lbs a week, but that is OK, so long as I am not gaining, I will be happy. I must say, though, I feel as if I have had to put a lot more effort in to losing now, with more walking and being stricter with my food intake. It certainly isn't easy, but I suppose anything worth doing isn't easy.

The middle comes out very runny without suet, but seen as the pastry is harder than an actual brick it is probably an advantage. :rotfl:

:rotfl: That sounds like interesting pastry...

Frugalina The colour changing wool sounds fab and well done on going out and not overeating. ETA - sorry, only just seen your post. Well done on the loss :T

Blue Doggy It may have been very random but how lovely of the hardware shop. Well done on your STS.

Brambling Well done on your 'new' clothes. How great that you managed to rescue the jeans just before you'd gone past being able to wear them.

Molly Well done for getting out and about this weekend and how exciting about the new puppy.

Honey That doesn't sound like a fun Saturday!! I hope yesterday/this week goes better for you

Tighteningthebelt Well done on the loss :T You'll need a new belt soon!!

Sirens I hope all goes well with being back at work

As predicted, this weekend was pretty much a write off as far as dieting was concerned.

I managed to eat very sensibly on Saturday but then had way too much booze at IzHe's mate's birthday party and a combination of hangover and hormones (I don't know why but I'm permanently hungry and when I'm due on) meant that I ate rubbish all day yesterday. Oh well, I'll do my best to stick to plan for the rest of the week and hope that I can undo the damage by Friday :o

  • Thank you Brambling and Izadora, it is because I am so very overweight in the first place, you get more losses at the beginning, but then it settles down to the more sustainable 1-2lbs.

I am feeling a lot better already and am able to walk a little more each day, which will also help.

Izadora, I used to struggle with the hormone fluctuations as well, so you have my sympathy. They would really mess me up, even though the menopause is tough, I felt it was better than the monthly hormone circus I used to go through and now I am very much post menopause, I am so glad not to have that to deal with.

Fingers crossed you can turn everything around by Friday!

  • Congratulations, FrugalLina, I’m so glad you’re feeling the benefits already :T

Well done, Molly41, and look forward to hearing about the puppy.

I hope your elbow’s getting better, SIRENS.

    Today:
    B: bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes
L: butter bean stew (the second portion of last week’s), apple with yogurt
D: spinach soup, tomatoey lentils with green beans and celeriac, two tangerines

But: I was doing a big lot of paperwork and picking at too much crystallised ginger (yum!) but it’s all gone now :D so none left for tomorrow.

    Hi everyone

sirens hope it went well today, and you and your elbow survived.

honeythewitch those too-hungry-to-cook times are fatal! Good idea to be prepared for them if you are able to.

blue doggy congrats on the sts. Not bad in view of your reported 'excesses'!

izadora here's to Friday... ! Sounds like a good party though.

FrugalLina congratulations, it might be less than last week, but you are still leading us through. Me today in class "thank you, that's lovely, I do like a chocolate hobnob" ... thinks of FrugalLina... pats large tummy, discloses diet, and follows up with "do you mind if I take it for later? You are so kind to bring them". Me later at home ... fishes it out of handbag, blows it in case of any fluff, puts it in a little tub, stashes it in abandoned bread cupboard with the butter dish and the tumbleweed, like the low level food hoarder that I am. Then I set myself a challenge to see how long I can keep it like a talisman to ward off temptation. Oh - truly i know i will eat it, but when good people, when??!!

brambling you are so organised with your clothes. I just give away stuff that doesn't fit, in whichever direction. Not sure if its wasteful or pragmatic. I only have a little house and I'm constantly scouring round for things that can be "outward bound". It's a running joke with my mates who wont leave anything here just in case. I do envy everyone who has interim clothes and goal clothes all ready and waiting though. (Hate shopping)

Thank you to everyone for your kindness and encouragement.

    Todays grub...
    Grapefruit
    Banana
Shepherds pie (last of) with lots of carrots and green beans
Small bowl of custard with a spoon of stewed apple

Have made an orange jelly and split into 5 portions. Have re-listed my freezer contents as I'd gone adrift with them, again. I'm good at putting stuff in, not so good at getting it out ... see above re food hoarding!!!

    Night all.
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

This really made me chuckle! You should have a medal for tact and diplomacy. And another for self-restraint :T. I blush to say, I’d probably have convinced myself to eat it by now:o.
