Sirens There's no need to apologise and you're not letting anyone down.

Brambling I have the same problem with snacking at work. It seems like someone brings in cakes or biscuits on pretty much a daily basis and I'm rubbish at saying no.

Well done both of you for drawing a line under it though, I know how easy it is to give up rather than get back to it.

All the talk of cross stitch reminded me that I've had one lurking at the back of a cupboard for a couple of years so I dug it out last night and will try to do that of an evening in a bid to stop me reaching for snacks.
  • Afternoon everyone.:)

Hello, everyone, I hope you’ve all had a very good day today :)

Oh, FrugalLina that’s horrid when “equipment” goes rogue. I hope it behaves itself better tonight.
Thank you for your kind wishes.

Well done on your weight loss, CRANKY40 :T

May your fingers always be nimble, all you cross-stitchers

    Today’s food:
    B: fish fingers and tomatoes
L: jacket potato and baked beans, cinnamon yogurt
D: spinach soup, ham omelette with mixed veg, yogurt with blackberries and apple.

    So far so :A.

But had tea out with a friend, pot of plus toasted tea-cake with jam :naughty: - but I did only look at the lovely cakes, and brought the butter home unused.
You did very well to minimise the "damage".
I am often teased for "stealing" unused sugar and butter from cafes.
I think if i have paid for it, it is mine, and it often comes in handy. Presumably, they cant use it again once it has been on someone's saucer or plate?

I once put a huge effort into making a batwing jumper while I was in hospital, though everyone on the ward had to help sort out my mistakes so it was a collective effort :D but I couldnt bear to wear it because it reminded me of being ill.
Maybe by the time they come back into fashion I will be able to face it!

I am also in the " weight going in the wrong direction club" :o and have PUT ON ONE AND A HALF POUNDS!!!!

I had a few days away and couldn't seem to stop eating, even when I got home.
Still, it is a new start, and a lesson learned. :)

Thank you all for your kind words xx
Decided to go shopping with Mum today so had a good walk, picked up a couple of gifts for my great nephews for "C" had a lovely salad for lunch, which was full of veg and grains, was really tasty. Got home and dh has ordered Chinese

I will only have a bit of rice and noodles (will share with the kids) no fried anything's for me!

Cranky those sprouts sound fab, last year I did little Christmas wreaths to go on the gifts, I love the thought of sprouts with googly eyes though :rotfl:

I am knitting a temperate blanket one line a day as well as a jumper for ds so will push on with that to keep the hands busy.

Gosh, so many busy productive crafters!!!

molly41 good to hear about your outing to the bin. Well done. You'll soon build it up.

I pretty much stuck to plan today, and swerved cakey temptation by literally not looking in the cafe! The alternate day fasting system seems to be suiting me more than I expected when I decided to try it.
    B
    L
T butternut and chickpea curry, couscous, courgette onion and red pepper sauteed together to bulk it up. Yogurt with kiwi and grapes for pudding.

    Scales are back. Phew.
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks
  • Todays food has gone quite well. :)

Mince pie. (I have made fat free ones)

Duck eggs on toast. pomegranate. (not together)

butterbean, chick pea and cauliflower curry and brown rice.
    Raw carrot.

If i am hungry later I will have oat bran.
  • Yay for all the crafters, it does keep our hands busy and I can't eat and stitch at the same time.

I do have a tapestry in a cupboard (you reminded me, Izadora) and may do some work on that as well.

Cranky40, I like a ripple blanket and made one for a friend's baby a few years ago, it was great once I got started. Currently, I want to make a scarf and maybe a hat for myself. I love the sound of the sprouts!

Tighteningthebelt, your funny food experience rather reminds me of when I overdo the sugar and carbs, I get really zonked out. I wonder if you have become a bit more sensitive to it because of the alternate day fasting? Well done on surviving today and I am glad you are finding the fasting useful. I am amazed I am sticking with it too. ;)

Well done, Molly41 on your successful bin perambulations - you will be able to do more and more each day. :j

Honeythewitch, I suspect these packet butter and sugar portions get reused. Ah, batwing jumpers. That reminds me of those ones we made in the late 70s/early 80s, usually of very itchy mohair. Sorry about your gain this week, but yes, start afresh, it will come off again now you are back on it. I love the idea of a temperate blanket, now I want to do one. Hmm, maybe something to start in January. Gosh, how do you cope on really hot days?
Well done on a successful food day!

My food yesterday was a fasting day, so just the green tomato curry, oranges, Ryvitas, Nakd bars in the evening.

    Today I had:

    B: Overnight Oats
    L: Soup and Ryvitas
D: Cashew nut and edamame stir fry, followed by 2 x oranges, Nakd bar and an Alpen bar.
    31.5/100
  • Hello Everyone :) Senior Doggy sends wags and thanks for everyone’s good wishes, he is beginning to feel a tiny bit better :j

Sirens, Brambling, Honeythewitch it’s amazing how very sensitive our bodies are to what seem to be quite small extra bits of food.

(I deliberately haven’t weighed myself since last Sunday, I’m sure weight has gone on and I’m hoping to get rid of it by next Sunday.)

Well done on temptation avoidance, tighteningthebelt! :T

Today’s food was almost the same as Tuesday’s
    B: porridge and an apple
L: ham salad, yogurt this time with cherry compote
D: tomato salad with olives and capers, steak & kidney casserole with broccoli, cauliflower and courgette, followed by more cherry compote yogurt.

No outings, no temptations, no snacks so hopefully starting to reverse the damage.

All the best to you all for tomorrow. :)

I've extended the line Honey so it's drawn under you as well, as Cranky said if this was easy we would all look like models :)

Tighteningthebelt maybe you were feeling yuck because your body has gotten out of the habit of fatty food, I know I do, I blame the lack of gall bladder. I am glad you're feeling better today.

Little steps Molly, just don't do too much at once

I'm another one who's fished out a cross stitch I was given at Christmas and put away as the cat took too much of an interest, funny enough it's a peacock :D.

Other than fruit I've avoided all snacks today, I just need to get out the habit of eating because it's there and not because I'm hungry

B - porridge, banana and blackberries
L- spinach salad with Parma ham and soft blue cheese
D- bread crumbed tofu with katsu sauce, rice, runner and French beans and purple sprouting
S - grapes, two figs, sugar snap peas

  • Gosh, its quiet here today. I expect you are all being industrious!!!

    I'm having a quiet day today. And eating at teatime again;
Chicken jambalaya with green beans and spring greens. Followed by rice pudding with stewed apples.
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks
