Turtle - a symbol of longevity, turtles survived extinction when the dinosaurs didn't. Some live up to 200 years - without appearing to age at all. How? Pinch, Punch, first of the month
no returns!
Good morning darling Turtles!
Weather - bleugh! I have been soaked twice already today and I am not sure I had dried out from last night yet either.
c/s bag full and leaving the house today
Wooden things off to the wood skip - were all offered on local site, some left, some didn't. Either way they are leaving and will not be sent to landfill.
Cleaning and tidying my house (polishing my shell?) today.
Will swing past locksmith (this is a frog-ephant) and see about getting my poor car fixed. Will borrow dh's car if nec (shell swapping!).
Tried to get updated mortgage numbers, but the bank are useless and can't give them to me yet, will try again tomorrow (serial mortgage overpayer).
Did a small shop, should have enough in to not bother with shops for the whole week.

Good Morning Turtles,
The food audit is completed, Iceland delivery due before 12 just need to write shopping list for the big supermarket shop for this afternoon. So between shopping and bills going out it won’t be an NSD today.
I have decided on my frog of the day - Have a serious discussion with Dh about the state of our finances and ‘guide’ him to the point that my housekeeping must go up.
Wish me luck!0 -
And here's to day one.
Did another food inventory and improved meal plan plus a plan what to take with us next weekend etc and adjusted my food order for Friday. Just did an Asda order as to prevent impulse buys just before we leave on Sat. Been more strict again like I have got flour so stop ordering pancakes for the kids.
Maybe start looking for ways of making a few extra pennies again too. Think I got an old digital SLR camera kicking about that I rarely use nowadays and one lense is broken, so might sell it and the other lense I have.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
May I join in please? I fell off it a few months back but need to be held to account more than ever. Thanks!0

Hi all, I'd like back in this month please.
My brother and I are planning a weekend way next year, wild camping and kayaking fjords in Norwayit's going to be around £700 with flights. Need to start saving!
15 No Spend Days.
Plan for the MONTH - Just my brothers birthday to plan for, he just wants something small so under £10.00
INCREASE your income if possible - Planning on picking up a few deliveroo shifts.
Concentrate on the THINGS THAT MATTER - Due to a few planned upcoming changes in work I'm now looking for another employment. My admin roles are being reduced, and I love admin so hoping to find a more full time admin role.
CONTINUE to SIMPLIFY your life, RELEASE unwanted possessions and REDUCE things that cause you stress. - My MIL passed away last month, so we have a lot of boxes to sort through. I'm going to nudge BF as gently as possible.
DONATE - time, goods or money - I've slowly been buying stuff up for xmas boxes for the homeless. Just need a few biscuits etc a little closer.

My October bits...
Before the Start of the Month You MUST
Set Your BUDGET for the Month
AUDIT your Cupboards, Fridge and Freezer- To be done on this awful rainy day after work.
Make a MEAL PLAN starting with what you have in (unless you have already started to put things aside for a special occasion
Plan for the MONTH - what is happening, what commitments, appointments, celebrations, once a year bills are coming up. Apart from bowling leagues nothing is set in stone...
For the Next Ninety Days
What is Your FOCUS?- Attacking my 'Staying power' I always quit at any hurdle this time I can't and won't.
What do you want to happen?- My IVA to be authorised on 10th Oct... My finances depends on this happening, but my life doesn't.
What needs to change? It may have to be You- Going to 100% stick to Slim World to see what I can get out of it £ for lb so to speak, most of my plans revolve around weightloss to be fair.
SET some goals. Break them down into Monthly and Weekly targets. 8lb off in October..
Think in terms of small changes that you can make NOW.
House Lannister's words are
HEAR ME ROAR
The Lannisters are also famous for always paying their debts. With a lion's ferocity you avoid spending money.
Plan for the Month
You must PAY to YOUR DEBTS or SAVINGS FIRST and live on what is left.
INCREASE your income if possible- Earn an extra £50 in October.
REDUCE your outgoings eg by using own brand products or changing your supermarket?- I have vouchers and money off codes for next 2 weeks grocery's at least.
Can you MEND, MAKE or MAKE DO instead of Buying?- I am desperate to update my living room but it is a want not a need, so going to dig deep in airing cupboard and see what curtains I can find or ask a friend.
For the Next 90 Days
CUT out any unnecessary socialising
CUT Screen Time
Be Mindful, Meditate, Read or just spend time with Nature or Candlelight (you can't see all the 101 things you think you 'ought' to be doing)- Just found a book in office drawer, going to read this in October..
LOOK for any free activities or events in your area- Cardiff Museum, pokemon hunting with DS.. to be updated.
House Martell's words are
UNBOWED UNBENT UNBROKEN
We all get tossed by life's storms. Sometimes we are still dealing with the latest disaster when the next crisis bowls us over.
This Month
Whatever happens you need to KEEP GOING.
Whether you stumble, fall or get knocked down you need to GET BACK UP (it's fine to stay down for a while, get your breath back, check if anything is broken).
RUN, WALK or CRAWL
If you can't run, walk. When you can't walk, crawl.
If you are CONFINED TO BED or the couch, PLAN your next moves and find things YOU CAN DO from there (I always found tackling the mending pile was a good thing to do when recovering from flu). Progress is progress, no matter how slow. What you don't do is give up because of one tiny slip.- This is very apt as looking into what next if IVA fails, there are options thank goodness.
LOOK AFTER YOURSELF so that you can look after those who depend on you.
For the Next 90 Days
Introduce ONE HABIT to improve your health- Earlier to bed.
Do something FOR YOU each day- Read my book and declutter at least 1 area.
BE KIND always (everyone you meet is carrying some burden)
House Reed's words are
HEARTH, HEART and HARVEST
The mud men live simply. They also spear frogs.
SIMPLICITY has been a recurring theme in this year's posts. Treading lightly upon the Earth and being at one with nature fits with the turtles holistic approach.
This month
Concentrate on the THINGS THAT MATTER, your home and loved ones, health and happiness.
Make a FROG LIST - try to tackle one a day.- Will do.
CONTINUE to SIMPLIFY your life, RELEASE unwanted possessions and REDUCE things that cause you stress.- This is def working for me, tidier my home is less troubled I am. TOMM for me.
DONATE - time, goods or money- Giving up next 2 Saturday am's to help out a friend,
BE GRATEFUL- Started to fill in a few daily in my diary.
For the Next 90 Days
Think about what really matters to you.
What can you do to get closer to living the life you have always wanted?- Stop spending and being wasteful.
What no longer fits in your life?-Worrying what postman is bringing daily.
