Why don't you simply google the court form and fill in the electronic version. No-one has any trouble with this easy form normally.

I've seen this DQ form referred to many times and because I'll be asked to fill one in soon I had a look around.

It's a lot less than what I was expecting; it's really very simple to fill in and takes maybe 3 minutes, plus a bit of faffing with a signature.

    The editable form is here:
    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/787306/n180-eng.pdf

On a Mac, open using the built-in Preview application, fill in the boxes and check the tickboxes as appropriate.
Tools > Annotate > Signature > Manage Signatures
Draw a signature using your trackpad or mouse and add it to the document. I could only get a drawn signature to sit to the right of the box but others may have more luck.

On Windows with free Adobe Reader, as above but for the signature it's File > Get Documents Signed > Place Signature (you'll be prompted to save a copy now; do so) > Draw your signature with your trackpad or mouse and drag it to the signature box.

Check the form and send it.
  • Thanks guys. Dq sent to both parties, now I sit and wait for there response I guess.

    Sitting and waiting?

I'd seriously be getting stuck into the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 so you know what's coming, how to deal with it and what to do with it, so that at the next stage you don't have to come back asking what to do.

It's been written by legal experts and court savvy contributors to help newbies who are new to dealing with court claims. All of it available 24/7.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Hi guys. I have  received a letter today but not sure exactly what’s going on. I’ve been out of  the loop during the whole corona period and haven’t been too organised. Can anybody break this down for me? The deadline to respond looks to to be a few days away. Got me pretty worried.

You have breached two court orders and not bothered to give the court your phone number, but luckily the court is giving you a lifeline in requiring your WS & evidence in time, NOW.  This is the easy stage, you can copy and adapt a WS from my ones in the threads by @blancswann or @painbl as long as you remove stuff not applicable (e.g. don't leave in stuff denying you were the driver, if you were, of course).

This is a simple stage and you nearly lost by default here, by not doing what the court letters told you to do.

GRAB THAT LIFELINE WITH BOTH HANDS.

AND - please now make a real difference - A TASK FOR SEPTEMBER.

The Government is (this month only) consulting about a new statutory code of practice (CoP) and framework to rein in the rogue parking firms.  Read and comment on the draft CoP proposal and the enforcement framework consultation, and get everyone you know to do the same.

You will need to register to comment on the CoP and enter an occupation even if you are retired or a homemaker, but otherwise it is easy to navigate, and comment upon each section/subsection individually. You can save comments to edit later and or submit comments once you are happy with them.

    https://standardsdevelopment.bsigroup.com/projects/2020-00193#/section

You do not need to register to comment on the enforcement framework which can be found here. It has a link on page 5 to make comments.

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/913272/Code_Enforcement_Framework_consultation.pdf

At the very least, we say the parking charge level should be £50/£25 or higher level £70/£35, as per Council PCNs in E&W.

And we say the added fake 'debt recovery' costs are just double counting the cost of letters, and MUST GO because that is unfair and illegal.

Please be heard.  You can bet the hundreds of PPCs will be commenting.

No apologies for repeating this vital 'call for action' to consumers, on every thread this month!
