In answer to a previous question you pay rate 1 for the first two units at the high rate. 2 kWh is a 2kw kettle used for one hour.
I got a Utilita email which said we will have a rate up to 30 September and then will get a Welcome pack from 1sr October which suggests an agreed tariff up to 30th September and another after that.
Does anyone know any clearer info?
As I have been told I am a Utilita customer from the 11th September and switched by 18th does this mean I can start a switch now or wait until the 18th?
As I am abroad on holiday I wasn't aware of all this until yesterday. Have just checked and a DD payment was taken on the 10th September. As I keep a log of my readings I took a reading on the 7th before we flew.
Would you activate the DD Indemnity guarantee, as I assume they went bust prior to that so technically did not have authority to take it?0 -
I'm posting this here because Utilita is mentioned in the BBC article:
"Nearly a third of all energy companies fitting smart meters are still installing old technology."

I switched from Eversmart on 28th August, leaving a credit balance with them. I hadn't cancelled DD as I presumed it would lapse, but Eversmart took regular DD on 12th September. I contacted bank, and have now cancelled DD , and bank has refunded the DD once I explained the circumstances. I contacted Utilita , who said that as I wasn't a customer when Eversmart ceased trading, they were not responsible to refund of credit. I quoted the information on the ofgen website and they said they can only deal with the accounts that were transferred over, and they have no details of my account. Eventually I spoke to a supervisor, who said to contact them again at the end of next week to see if any more accounts had been passed over. I can't say I'm confident about getting my credit back.0

Just be patient.
You've successfully got your last DD payment back, so that's good news. I decided to cancel mine, due on 12th Sept, as soon as I heard about Eversmart going under.
Once you account is transferred to Utilita, your credit/debit with Eversmart will be assessed and you'll be billed/refunded accordingly.
Utility tells me that my account should have transferred to them by 18th Sept. We just need to give them a bit of time to sort things out.
I'm an old hand at this. I've been with GB Energy, IRESA and Eversmart, all of whom went bust. My accounts, always in credit, were sorted out in reasonable time.0 -
Well, transfer to Utilita was supposed to complete by todayYou became a Utilita customer on 11 September and your energy supply will transfer to Utilita by 18 September
But my local distribution network (Northern Powergrid) still lists my supplier today as ENGQ (Eversmart Energy Ltd)0 -
I received a letter from Utilita yesterday telling me they'd be my new supplier by the 18th Sep 2019. I decided to check the 'Smart Energy' Tariff they said I'd be switched to for Gas and Elec. I was shocked to find the rates about 3-5 times the price of Eversmart. Right away I went to MSE Energy Club and then switched to Outfoxthemarket (who might be crap but I'll take the risk).
That's my second supplier that's gone bust. I was with Extra Energy before Eversmart, and they still owe me about £180, which I have fading hope of ever seeing.0 -
Ofgem ordered that Eversmart Energy customers were transferred to Utilita w.e.f. Wednesday 11 September 2019 under the SoLR principles.

It may be taking some time for some of the systems to catch up with this, but rest assured you have all been supplied to Utilita since Wednesday 11 September 2019.0 -
Rang them today, and I'm on their list. Guy said 3 companies bid for the customers of eversmart and they won...I'd take that statement with a pinch of salt, as if these were the best I'd hate to see what the other 2 were0

I started a switch 2 days before Eversmart went bust, I was given a switch over date of 24th September with Outfox the Market and to give meter readings on 19th September.
Once Utilitia were quickly on board I expected all this to get messed up, I received a text from them when they took over but no email stating tariff etc.
I have spoke to Outfox today and switch is still ok and they requested my meter reads so hopefully positive news and I will only be paying Utilitias crazy prices from 11th til 24th.
Just thought I would update as many will be in the same situation.0
