Talking about Diane Abbot. It says on B]right wing tin foil hat nutbar conspiracy site[/B Guido Fawkes, her son got arrested for biting a police officer earlier this year.
I see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in scumbag terms

Just a tiny amendment there0 -
Abbott was top of her working class comprehensive school, got into Cambridge on her own merits, and was then fast tracked into the civil service. Since being an MP she's been overwhelming returned to parliament at every opportunity by her constituents.
I'm failing to see where the positive discrimination lies. Outside of the minds of the knuckle dragging far right who assume that every black woman with a job stole it from them as part of a sinister left wing quota.
Well, it won't bother you, because you've moved your tax residency out of your mum's basement. Isn't that right, Rockefeller
Such hate and bitterness...for some reason Diane certainly presses the buttons of certain types of people....I wonder why, perhaps they feel threatened by her.0 -

What has Diane done that would constitute being a scumbag? That time she had a Mojito on a train?
I'm not condoning what James did, though I am curious as to what actually happened and what the context is. The article merely points out it was near somewhere he used to work.
I've yet to see a statement from Diane about it, though I suspect the witchunt has begun in earnest. I'm assuming it'll get exactly the same response as the various Tory MP's who've been responsible for violent incidents in the past, because there's no bias at all.0 -
What has Diane done that would constitute being a scumbag?
- 'Brexit was triggered by stupid racists who did not like seeing people who look "foreign" on their streets' (2017)
- 'London shouldn't have another white middle-aged mayor' (2015)
- 'Blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls are unsuitable as nurses - they have never met a black person before' (1996)
- 'White people love playing "divide and rule" - we should not play their game' (2012)
- 'White people in western societies have benefited from their histories of colonial exploitation' (2012)
- 'West Indian mums will go to the wall for their children' (2010) - so mothers of other races will not.
Then there is the hypocrisy: she sent her own son to the City of London School, which is private, but is standing on a manifesto that attacks private schools.
Being a racist hypocrite definitely qualifies her as a scumbag.0 -
I disagree. Nothing wrong with sending your kid to a private school whilst wanting private schools to pay the same rates as regular schools? Unless you mean it's because her kid graduated years before the change was proposed? He would have started school, what, 23 years ago and left 10 years ago?
Plus, the only racism there is the Finnish girls, but I'd need to go and see what the actual quote was, because I bet that it's been misquoted enough to skew it.
On those grounds, do you concede that pretty much the entirety of the Tory Party are scumbags?0 -

Or maybe, if you escape your left wing bubble, where anything anyone dislikes is really all about them fearing it*, you'll see plenty of reason to dislike Diane. The son of Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott has been charged with two counts of assault over alleged attacks on police officers during a disturbance at the Foreign Office.
James Abbott-Thompson, 28, was arrested on Friday afternoon last week after police were called to the Foreign Office in Westminster, where he used to work.
He was later charged with two counts of assault by beating an emergency services worker and a public order offence.
Westminster Magistrates' Court heard on Monday that he is accused of spitting at and punching one officer and biting the thumb of another.
He was bailed to appear back in front of magistrates in February.
By that time, if Labour win next week's General Election, his mother could be Home Secretary, in charge of the country's police forces, two of whose members he is accused of assaulting.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7750565/Diane-Abbotts-son-28-arrested-attack-police-officers.html
*I'll admit the prospect of her getting into high office is terrifying! But I do not fear her, per se, just the idea of anyone letting her loose in a position of influence and power.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -
Even outside of the left wing bubble, what's the problem with her? She's fluffed up a few numbers in interviews, but no worse than her white male counterparts.
She's climbed the metaphorical ladder pretty fast, is pretty well regarded by all except the right wing, and has been re-elected 3 times with a pretty healthy majority.
Do you guys hold the same kind of contempt for Tory MP's who struggle through interviews and can't produce coherent figures?0 -

I think the problem with Abbott and the Lammy fella too, is that they resort all to readily to a particularly nasty form of leftist invective that is usually based around identity. It obviously plays well with the good folks of Tottenham and Hackney, but it does rub a lot of ordinary people up the wrong way. Some might say we've had generations of white politicians who've employed the same sort of tactics and these particular two are just redressing the balance, the irony of course is that although they are always a shoe-in for re-election themselves, their antics make Labour unelectable in most other areas.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
