Another tip for the Corbyn era Labour party in particular (not that it is just an issue with Labour!), stop talking as if anyone who doesn't agree with you on every single issue is somehow evil or morally deficient, we can all have legitimate disagreements on what we think is best for the country, nobody has a divine insight into the absolute truth of how the country should be governed.
I know that can be difficult for all of us especially on issues which rouse the strongest feelings, but it gets wearing for people to be endlessly preached at.
If you want a laugh, go to any Guardian "comment is free" section and read the viperous hate-filled comments about anyone who dares challenge the left wing orthodoxy there. It sure puts paid to the "caring-sharing, let's be nice and love each other, socialist, group hug," stereotype to rest. Remain/left-wing beliefs are held with quasi-religious fervour there.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”1 -
I have seen polling indicating a lot of individual policies were reasonably popular (hardly surprising when many consisted of offering people additional "stuff" along with a promise that someone else would pay for it), but equally many voters looked at the massive list of policies in total and didn't trust that a government (particularly one led by Jeremy Corbyn) would be able to deliver them on time, on budget and wqould be able to actually raise the tax to pay for them.
Essentially, Labour took a KFC bargain bucket of fried chicken, two gallons of ice cream, a packet of salted caramel brownies, and a bottle of red wine; smushed it all together, dumped it on a plate, and stuck a flag with "Zionist Scum Out" in the middle of the gloop. Then acted confused that the electorate didn't want it. "People love fried chicken, and people love ice cream, and people love red wine, so the only reason we could have lost is because of Zionists whining about the flag."Another tip for the Corbyn era Labour party in particular (not that it is just an issue with Labour!), stop talking as if anyone who doesn't agree with you on every single issue is somehow evil or morally deficient, we can all have legitimate disagreements on what we think is best for the country, nobody has a divine insight into the absolute truth of how the country should be governed.2 -
I'm just pointing out that people in general tend to vote for things that make the rich better because theres a possibility they'll be rich, when the reality is they'd be better off voting for things which were better for the poor.0

Northern England’s time has come, the Tories are finished if they don't spend the next five years coughing up cash in order to be able to point at stuff in 2024 and say look at what we’ve done.
If he keeps saying 'get the North sorted' without actually specifying what sorted means it'll be lapped up by the faithful. A bit like getting brexit done.0
