The whole idea of "politicising" the recent terror attack is nonsense.

The journo's are asking the questions.
The readers want to know what they think
You can't criticise the candidates for giving an answer.

Everyone with an ounce of sense is sympathetic to the horrors of attacks like these. It's legitimate for candidates to explain how they might change / deal / handle in the wake of such attacks. It's also legitimate to make the point that we are where we are because of decisions made by others.
That does not disrespect the victims.

As a public we should want a political discussion on this kind of thing.

It's too complex a problem to be reduced to meaningless sound bites.

    Longer sentences in all cases?
    Shoot to kill?
    Deport terror suspects?
    Take away their citizenship?

All can have simple one word answers if all you are trying to do is score points.

Unfortunately, the world isn't like that.

We're likely to end up with crowd pleasing knee-jerk legislation that will be worse than anything we've already got, either crowding prisons with people that can never be released or crowding the courts with appeals.

All costing millions (billions?) and none of it doing anything to solve the real problems.

But hey, let's just say "Yes" to all of the above coz it's keep the Sun readers & Wetherspoons drinkers happy.

    Simple solutions for simple people.

I am from a Lab leave area. I am sure the polls are understating the Lab loss, every single Lab leave voter i've spoken to isn't voting for Lab this election.

Many are either not going to vote, vote for the tories or vote for an indy / bxp candidate.

Most of these people are anti-tory, you wouldn't believe

But Lab MPs ignoring the ref result and campaigning for a 2nd ref, will be catastrophic for them in a week or so.

Is there a point where you would actually become so ashamed of your party that you would stop voting for them? I mean, what would it would actually take?

Jeremy Corbin leading it, with Dianne Abbot potential home secretary.

Such a shame that these threads just reinforce the basic problem - the country is massively split.
I see a lot of posts for/against both sides - a post on facebook today for example, informed me that if I vote tory, I'm a murderer. Irony is, most is "here's why you shouldnt vote for X". Very little "here's why you should vote for Y".

London Bridge wise - I think it was a labour MP who tweeted about the release being under a tory government, before someone else pointed out it was under a law brought in under labour, etc etc. And now Boris is unleashed...

I will vote (Otherwise I believe I lose my right to complain about them for the next four years), but quite frankly, none of the 4 candidates in my area (as well as their wider parties) have any right to my vote. Screaming Lord Sutch, where are you when I need you?

I know what you mean. I have a great independent candidate in my area who is putting in loads of groundwork and taking the time going around pubs, social clubs and the town centre talking to everyone. I may vote for him.

No way I can vote for Labour, mainly because of 2nd ref.

Voting for Tories ... that's a tricky one for me. I am more inclined than I was, just because of Brexit. I know many ex labour who are voting for them on this one occason.

I do have a BXP candidate, but not seen him at all.

There's also a religious candidate who always stands at every election.

If you're having trouble who to vote for, I find it a lot easier to cross out the ones who you wouldn't vote for first. The choice becomes much more clearer.

That's the way I am seeing it, I personally am voting for Tory and am a Remainer who will be holding his nose as my vote drops into the ballot box. I cannot think of one decent Tory that thrills me or gives me hope for a better future, shows how awful Corbyn is, and I am sure there are many Labour voters doing the same

I agree/agreed with the austerity measures with the one big massive flaw, the poor paid their bit for the banking crisis with the richest not only holding onto their wealth, but with all of them massively increasing it, and I am as far from being a socialist as you can imagine, but I can see how wrong that is.

The UK is one of the richest countries in the world, if we need to get even richer in order to look after the poorer WORKERS in this country and pensioners then something is very wrong. Have to say I am having an anti capitalist few days at the moment after so many of you witnessing me being the nasty landlord, yesterday I was witness and helped in the removal of a Polish couple from a friends rental property, left a nasty taste in my mouth even though they tried to con and lied, I never slept last night after telling myself I did the right thing, odd!!. I think I am upset that maybe they were only lying etc in order to survive, both working people

I was watching her trying to bluff her way through a Sky news report the other day where all of us and the dog could tell she had not read the report as she pretended she had, it was just painful

Sorry I don't get it, you're a remainer who understands that income inequality is rife and you're still wanting to vote Tory?

I get not moving to Labour, but - Lib Dems?

Lib Dems are funded by Gina Miller. Money talks whatever the party is.
