Hugglemonster hits the debt hard!

Happy Friday people!
Busy morning vacuuming and mopping downstairs, plus have done meal plan, food shop, cleaned out cat litter, laundry and now sitting with a nice cup of coffee. Tea tonight is a pork/sausages (kids won't eat pork steak) tray bake so all in one tray and will need to get some potatoes out of the garden. Still need to finish the kitchen cleaning and the dishes after lunch.
I'm going to spend the first part of the afternoon updating my budget which I still haven't written up neatly, I nearly looked at making an extra payment towards the debt until I remembered that its's ds birthday next month and we're getting him a bike! I need to get the list up to date of what needs to be purchased so I don't leave myself short. We've got £100 towards the bike already so depending on what he chooses we just need to make up the difference.
DH and dd aren't going to the peak district tomorrow but for a walk nearer to home so won't need to use as much fuel, my plans are to do a few jobs in the garden and make some bread as well as a couple of runs somewhere in between.
Trying to keep spends low until pay day in 2 weeks and hope not to have to use the child benefit money that comes in next week so I can pay off a bit more debt.

The last couple of days have been very trying but I'm in a better frame of mind compared to this morning and need to put a positive spin on what's happened, there are so many less fortunate than us and we have lots to be thankful for so here's what's been going on:
* Had a message and a call yesterday from a colleague saying she and other members of the team had had a call saying that the company is now going through expressions of voluntary redundancies or reduce working hours and we would receive a letter today. I finally got my phone call about 8pm. We didn't get anything in the post but had an email with a vague letter attached saying the same. So thinking my next step would maybe say would like to keep hours obviously but would consider a drop in hours if no other alternative. One of my colleagues is going for redundancies which might make a difference but who knows if there's already a potential plan in place. My friend has said there's still a job waiting if I need it so can fall back on that.
* I noticed that the tiles by the sink were dark in colour and after further investigation the stop !!!!!! underneath has a continuous leak and the floor was soaking, had to rip out the shelves so get to it all and they were rotten. It has taken many phone calls to finally get a plumber who actually answered and came out this evening, we've had to turn the water off for now. At least we finally have the repair underway, plumber is returning in the morning, I have actual savings for this very situation - not a lot but enough which is more than I can say for a few months ago!
* I've cleared up cat poop from the kitchen floor, a dead mouse in the garden and cleaned out the fish tank! Ah well all jobs that needed doing :-)
So onwards, the consultation period for work is 2 weeks so after that we can be clearer on the state of play in other news ds and I ventured to the shops and treated the family to some new cooking implements (a need not a want) and a holder for our dish cloth and washing up liquid etc. I know how to please everyone!
I've paid another £40 to the credit card and the next loan payment comes out on Thursday, we will just carry on as always.

Morning all, stop valve (MSE doesn't like the other word!) has been replaced and now am trying to dry out the floor as much as possible, so glad I had the money to transfer over so I could pay the bills without worrying. Just waiting now to see if it's also fixed the noisy pipes problem too, fingers crossed. I need to build up that pot again for the next thing which is the guttering, always something to keep us busy I suppose.
Loan payment has gone out today but will update signature tomorrow when it clears, now need to have a frugal week before payday next Friday.
After chatting with colleagues I'm going to hold fire about the job, there's only 2 of us who do the job up here (colleague only does a few hours) and many people down south including lots of consultancy work so will wait and see.
Kids finish school tomorrow for the summer, we're not going anyway but will take them out regularly avoiding as many of the massive tourist places as possible, handy having local knowledge sometimes. DH sent through details of a camping site in Scotland which looks lovely and really reasonable prices, we're going to see if we can save for a little trip next April.
Right catching up with all the laundry and the house is looking a state again, see you later - H x2 -
Good morning, how can it be Friday again? The days are going far too quickly!
DD has gone to school for the last day and ds has finished, due to the staggered return in September they are off for 8 weeks so need to plan some things to do.
Loan payment has updated and made a small payment to credit card from survey income, after the 2 big payments next week we'll be hurtling towards the £6k bracket and then will be a big reduction when I've paid one of the loans on 1st September. That will really spur me on to get this debt gone.
Not much else happening, plans for the day are more laundry, finish menu and do food shop, and more cleaning. Tres exciting!
Ooh forgot to say vibrating pipes are back, anyone know how to clear it? Draining the system is not working! Also we have dehumidified on the kitchen floor and it's drying up nicely, a friend was clearing out his parents house and gave it to us for nothing. The cat is very suspicious of it though.

Good morning, finally payday so some more progress to be made I've been up early to go to Mr T as dh is going away for the weekend and wanted items specifically from there so early doors to miss the busy times. I've also been to HB to get cleaning items and just need to go to L*dl for food.
I've updated ynab and transferred over the different savings to the pots, it's going to be an expensive month and need to be really strict with our ad hoc spending. This month we have:
* DS birthday
* Niece's birthday
* Car for service and MOT - this is covered but if there are any repairs we need to pay that.
* Home Insurance - have some towards it but need to do a comparison as renewal quote has come out nearly £20 more.
* Plumber to do the pipes!
Hopefully I will find out early next week about my job, it's horrible reading things that those still working are doing and also found out a colleague that we thought was on furlough isn't and makes you think all sorts of things about why he is working and we're not! Starting to come out in cold sores now which is not great.
More payments will be made to credit card when I've transferred some survey money.
Hope all are well, H x4 -
