HI all just checking in after a couple of relaxed days Chez Huggle! We had more information from school as to how returning would work and now just waiting on a schedule for which days the different year groups will attend, we'll see how it goes and if the kids are not happy they will still have the option of staying home and will get sent work to do. I was reading about their trips which are booked through a well know provider who is currently refusing to refund schools and therefore parents, suggesting they go through insurance who are in turn refusing to pay out, Mr L it seems is on the case so hopefully this will be sorted at some point!
Despite a lull in debt busting I had a few surveys pay out so have sent this over to the credit card, loan payment goes out on Tuesday and two weeks until pay day.
DH and I had a chat about the garden and we're going to change one of the areas in the back that is currently covered in stones back to a veg patch, we used to have this and grew some great produce so I'm really excited to be able to do it again. I need to sit down and have a schedule of what to plant and when, to hopefully give us a better crop throughout the year.
I have found some dining room chairs on *bay but unfortunately due to travel restrictions I can't go and pick them up, there seem to be a regular supply so when we can venture further afield I will check again.
Will try and get out in the garden over the weekend but weather not looking great, if so I'll get on with the varnishing of the kitchen table which I still haven't got round to.
Have a good weekend, H x

Sounds a great idea restoring a veg patch. We have covered up an old patch of lawn with a veg patch this year and it is looking really promising now. The beans and tomatoes are in flower, the lettuce is now edible, and everything else is growing strong. Should have potato flowers soon I hope and peas and sweet peas etc.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well I am aching, 3 days of gardening have been exhausting! I have cleared all the dead leaves and rubbish from under the hedge at the front, taken out the weeds from the front path, take out all the weeds from the circle of bricks that surround our lawn (that took a long time) removed the stones from the area that will be our veg patch and started some herbs growing. I've order a few flowers and seed potatoes plus some strawberries to plant on arrival. Next job is to dig over the soil from the veg patch and mark out where the first lot of produce will go.
This weekend I've also painted the legs of the dining room table and last night some dining chairs came up on fb in the next town so manage to secure 6 of them, they're not perfect but better than the ones we had which came with the house 13 years ago and weren't new then, but when we do the kitchen we will treat ourselves to new or better second hand. They were only £30 so not bad at all.
Finances wise all ok, loan comes out tomorrow and have moved some money from bonus money to pay for a few things - getting to the point where I'm reluctant to use money in the savings pot, that a good sign!
A few little survey payments and also sold dd shoes but didn't go for much, still it's a bit more off the credit card than yesterday I'll do that payment in a minute. I'm still waiting on the MM payment and also need to catch up on surveys and update ynab.
Tomorrow I need to do a meal plan and a bit of shopping, 10 days until payday so need to be frugal I think I'll do a roast chicken for Chicken Caesar salad and then use the rest of the chicken on Wednesday.
Hope everyone ok, H x

Well I've had a pants few days of not feeling well, woken up in the early hours of Tuesday morning in lots of pain in my chest and not able to breathe properly I went down to dh and told him I felt awful. He took my pulse and gave me loads of Rennies and felt better after a few minutes but still in lots of pain so had to sleep sitting upright in bed, feel really pathetic that it was just a bad case of indigestion but it was so painful. Still had a bit since then and hoping that it will be gone soon!
Bits and pieces going on in the garden and house; dd has been sanding down a couple of the old dining room chairs ready to repaint and recover then she is going to have them for her room, fair play she works hard! Flower seeds have arrived and have been potted, I will split these when they come up to spread across different pots but I will need to buy some compost as homemade has run out for now and needs time for the next lot to be ready. Seed potatoes have arrived today, these are on the windowsill to chit, also have 2 pots of herbs on the go which is weird as when I did them a few weeks ago nothing happened and now they're going great guns (same packet of seeds). I have also repositioned the water butt in the garden.
I need to decided whether to embark on several trips to the tip or get a skip as there is quite a build up of rubbish collecting in the front garden, I will have a look what the process is for the tip and see if I can bare it!
Finances wise I'm waiting on a few surveys to update with some extra payments, I got paid from MM and also received the £100 odd cheque from the club today - waiting until it clears that I will pay lump sum off cc to take me under £3k. A bit annoyed with dh who said he will pay for some whiskey yesterday (he has a Monz* card so technically it still is paid from our main account as I have to transfer money) and spent £50 on one bottle!!! Really annoys me that in one breath we say to the kids we can't afford things and then he does that. Bah!
Still onwards, looking forward to next week when we'll be under £8k. H x

Just a quick update, decided to pay a bit off the credit card which brings it under £3k and our total debt in the £7k's - YAY!!
Still suffering with heartburn, will pop out to see Dad tomorrow I hope it's not raining and that it won't be long before it's ok to sit in their house for a cup of tea.

I've just checked on the first lot in the bags and dug up a lovely little spud, will dig a few more tomorrow. Mmmmm!
I logged on to the council website this morning to check on the tip opening and appointments, it was really easy and they had plenty for today so within an hour I had loaded up the car and got rid of most of the rubbish from the garden. Just a few more bits to get rid of and then it's clear, no skip needed.
Survey payment arrived in the form of a prepaid credit card, usually I would put it on the kids school dinner fund but as they will only be attending for 3 days before the summer holidays they are going to take a packed lunch. I was going to buy an item that dd needs but it wouldn't let me use half card and half vouchers so in the end I have used it to pay towards some jeans I ordered. I got the jeans (desperately needed) from a catalogue and I was going to pay for it straight away but there was a big discount if I got it on the credit side and at 0% if I paid in full on the first statement, I know this is not the best way but instead of paying full price of £26 the discount brought it down to £19.50 I then paid the £8 on the prepaid card so now I only owe £11.50 which I'll put on the account on Thursday and then when everything is clear I will close the account.
Looking forward to pay day and starting my 'pots' although a couple will not be fully funded this month due to birthdays and need to pay for the garden waste collection for the year. I will do a test first to make sure the payment from my account goes through ok.
Nothing much else going on, dd is doing really well renovating the old chairs - she has used paint that we already had in the shed and is using her own money to buy some fabric for the seat pads.
3 days until pay day and a good debt reduction on Friday!
