Oh my word HM. You must be delighted that all is okay with the oven! We have dodgy windows that need to be looked at, our bath needs to be sealed properly by a professional and the hall needs to be painted badly. I'm trying to ignore all of it during these uncertain times!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Glad the oven turned out to be okay. Our hob went completely just as lockdown started. We bought a two plate plug in induction hob - but need to sort something properly once the tradesmen are all back working and it 'feels' safer. We will plod on for now.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Hugglemonster. Have a look at Ebay for ovens. Mine died about 5 years ago and I had a double wall mounted gas oven that was over £1000 to replace. i bought a barely used one on Ebay for a fraction of the cost. Yes I had to pay for delivery and refitting but the previous owners inherited it when they bought a new house and it was unused! HTH.3

Good morning everyone, how's it all going? Thanks for the suggestion about the oven Jan, Clearmydebts - I would cry if I made a list of all the jobs needed to be done in the house, oh no sh hope the hob is working ok for you!
My furlough has been extended into June, hubby still hasn't heard anything - he keeps going through hundreds of different scenarios which probably doesn't help, but it is pretty bad not to even have a courtesy phone call.
Finances are ok, I've cashed out on a couple of survey sites which have been added to the car payment pot and is now at £79.65/£191.64. I will do a few more today after I get a computer/laptop back from one of the kids after they've done their school work. Next loan payment due out tomorrow so a little step nearer to the dfd. Ahhh one day!
Today is food shop day but need to do a menu with dh first, apart from that a run later and not much else.
Have a good day, H x3 -
Morning all, just a quick update before dd gets her hands back on the laptop to do her school work. Both kids are doing well with their work but missing their friends, they won't be going back anytime soon though.
Progress today - loan payment has gone out yesterday so balance updated today, new washing machine arrives today which is great and also need to check with credit card company when 0% rate runs out so I can work out how much to pay off each month difficult to do when dh is in the house as I can't speak to them! I also need to phone about my car insurance renewal, I need to take a couple of things off such as breakdown cover as I get this with my service plan so otherwise paying double. I still haven't done what I said and saved up for the annual cost (I do this with the house and pet insurance though so getting there) but the monthly cost should be the same.
DH is in a grump, his own fault so probably feeling sorry for himself, I won't go into details but sometimes I run out of patience and won't put up with his actions especially as it involves spending money. I need to have a system for these times so he can't spend more than we have. Sorry very cryptic, he's not a bad man or horrible but sometime gets stuck in a cycle. Anyway he should be going back to work next Tuesday so that will give him some focus.
Right best get on otherwise delivery people will be in and I'll still be in my pyjamas, will catch up later!

Morning Huggle.
If you can view your CC online you should be able to find out when the APR runs out at 0%, if you look at your statement in PDF it should be on there, usually on the 2nd page it should have something like balance information and then underneath amount, apr and when deal expire etc.
Hope that makes sense .

New washing machine came this morning and has already been put to work, great to have caught up with the laundry in one go instead of over a few days.
Car insurance sorted, with the changes made it's now a lower monthly payment but obviously would be better is I paid annually. Child benefit is slightly more than usual, this will see us through until pay day next week and just need to get brother and s-i-l an anniversary card.
