I'm not the only one not getting any sleep then judging by all the green lights on in this thread
Have only just caught up with it all and had to share our moment of fame (should that be infamy) at the school play, where in their wisdom last year they cast DS3 as Joseph...
He frogmarched into the church backwards, teatowel over his face and spent the whole nativity staring at his feet and the back of the stage. When 'Mary' passed him baby Jesus he threw him over his head backwards into the audience
I've promised myself not to get started on the subject of schools after the 'swimming incident'

Hi Squoog & any other new peeps I've missed... just catching up on the thread so may have missed someone.
Anyhow, not sure if I've said already but we've got an appt for the paed for 7th January, not sure what will happen and what they'll say but another step forward.
By the way was going to mention, do any of your children not notice Christmas? My boy's 2 and has no interest in the tree (well I suppose he does but only spinning the baubles!) But I don't think he's got any idea about it - does a "normal" 2 yr old show interest. He doesn't have much understanding about what we say to him to be honest so think it's probably just linked to his general non-understanding & non-verbal
Anyway he's just woken up all grumpy from his afternoon nap so I'll catch you all later0 -
I've seen about a squillion 2 year olds this week (working in Santa's grotto) and I'd say the vast majority of two year olds-especially ones without older siblings have no clue what is really going on so I wouldn't worry sam.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Thanks for that info duchy, Ben is an only child so he's no siblings to feed off. I wasn't sure whether he should have any idea so thats reassuring.0

Some good news today!
Have been waiting for a paed appt since Sept and finally got one for the beginning of Dec which was cancelled and moved to the middle of Dec which was also cancelled and moved to the beginning of Jan.
Anyway after the 2nd cancellation, OH got a bit 'worked up' and phoned the hosp complaining that we had been waiting since Sept already. Lo and behold they phoned back today and can see us on 27 December. Yeay!
Just goes to show if you dont ask - you dont get! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

A quick note about DLA and when / whether to claim: you don't need a diagnosis, but my understanding is that you DO need to be able to demonstrate that your child needs MORE supervision / assistance than a similar aged child.
This means that it can be easier to claim when they're older rather than when they're younger: for example all four year olds need close supervision when out in the street, so a child who runs off repeatedly may not be seen as needing more than a non ASC child of the same age. However if at 11 a child is still not able to walk safely to school that means extra care and supervision is required.
It is definitely worth getting help to fill the forms in: there are tips on the benefits board I believe, but many people find it makes a huge difference.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Good evening everyone. nothing bad has happened this week, LOL, my daughter is tired what with church and the school plays (I beleuve she has had 4 in 2 days) and she has been VERY tempermental the last few days, crying over silly things so today I sent her to bed for a rest before lunch. I don't like doing things like that but how much can you ut up with!!
Anyhow, I came to share with you what Ryan said today. He tried to get a biscuit and I said 'no you cannot have one as you already had one get out of the cupboard', and I went to sort the washing, I came back and he was in the cupboard so I lifted him down (he climbs up to get in the cupboard on the wall above head height) and he said 'what, I didn't hear you as these were turned off' and pointed at his ears!!! cheeky so & so, I've never heard any child come out with that and I had to walk away otherwise I would have laughed in his face!! I guess it is not all bad.0 -
