Thanks guys, just killing time ignoring the kids, getting cranky - council have still not called me back but - method in my madness, what's another day - I will wait until tomorrow so that tonight I can tell my MP that they have not bothered in calling me back to set an appointment to see me as homeless given that we have only got 14 days to be out. 14 days, what's 14 days??? !!!!!!!

Of course, they could be ringing around the HA and trying to find us a lovely new house given the circumstances.... Got to keep on being optimistic, right??

threaten them with the LOCAL GOVERNMENT OMBUDSMAND !!! it wored for my friend, from homless mum with 4 kids two disabled to a brand new four bed home with lovely garden , simply got a solicitor to write to the council stateing their client will be going to ombudsman XX thining good thoughts for you

But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."


And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away... because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss.

But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland.

I do not think you can go the Ombudsman before you have worked through your council's formal complaints procedure. If you haven't yet done that, you need to start now ...

I'm sorry you've not got much time, blue monkey, especially as your mum hasn't yet got a buyer. Don't really know what else to say, at least it won't be hanging over you for months and months and months. It's been long enough already, hasn't it!

Now it is the right time to be a complete an utter pain in the rear end call housing and your MP daily make sure they reckonise your voice as soon as they answer their phones! Those that shout the loudest and all that.

Bluemonkey, I don't know how you manage to keep it together, you've even managed to get a smiley face in your post!! Will be keeping everything crossed that a good outcome is just around the corner.
