you don't know that. I'm allowed to eat it or throw it away makes no difference. Being edible is not good enough. It needs to be better than merely edible!
And there we have it. Knew we would get there in the end. No wonder you was so upset and complained to the CEO when they removed your option to phone the store and get a gift card sent out via post.0 -

I suspect a vague reply along the lines of "I only taste it" will be next.0 -
This thread is exactly why I left retail.0

If i went to nissan, bought a car and said i didnt like it because it doesnt drive as well as the nissan at another garage or when i drove it with them a month earlier would you expect Nissan to keep offering me a car until i was satisfied with it? Bear in mind, im keeping every car that they offer me as a good will gesture.
Creme eggs is another example. Shrunk in size about 17%. if someone was used to buying the larger ones and was mistaken in to buying a smaller one, youd expect them to get a refund on it, maybe the first few times. If theyre still doing it in the third year of them being made smaller, theyre taking the mick. Youre that person.
Its clearly not just the supermarket that think youre taking the mick. More or less everyone else thinks youre largely a cause of your own issues.
The fact is you want better quality produce than that supermarket can reliably provide. Its not in their interest to allow you to carry on, im struggling to comprehend how its not in your best interest to move to another supplier. You say you want quality produce but will only shop somewhere that provides sub standard product by your own metrics. I suspect its price agreeable which will explain the varying quality of the goods and you dont want to pay more for better quality goods and supply. In which case, you need to expect a lower quality product.
See how riddiculous your argument is yet?
A car is much more expensive than a pack of fruit but you still have consumer rights.
The supermarkets are not able to reliably supply the standards they promise. Their solution is to ban anybody that tries to complain because imagine how difficult and expensive it would be to try to fix the problem. A lifetime ban for too many complaints is like a life sentence for stealing a pack of chewing gum. Do you think thats fair too?
Nobody can show me a law that says excessive returns is a crime. Its a grey area. There are innocent people being scapegoated.
If you dont allow excessive returns it needs to be clearly stated in the policy.0 -
so sometimes you get a refund and still consume the food0

OP it’s clearly time for you find another supermarket to buy you wares from (until they get fed up with your freeloading)... don’t forget the tin foil for your hat0

It isn't a grey area. You have the right to a refund for unsatisfactory goods. They have the right to refuse your custom. You've both exercised your rights.0
