    Hi k_imp

I am sorry to hear your situation, however, have you reviewed the terms and conditions of your insurance in the policy you received? I find it quite odd that you are paying your monthly fee, yet have not signed and returned the paperworks.

Dacouch is right, have you by any chance filed a claim during the period of Feb to Jul 09?

  • If you are considering buying insurance through moneyexpert, please note their strict cashback terms – these have changed recently so that you have to apply for the payment between 14 and 30 days after commencement. I got caught out as the ‘before 30 days’ rule has been introduced since I made the purchase. I printed the cashback T&Cs on 8 June 2009 and it wasn’t there. Can anyone think of a way I could still claim with a chance of succeeding?

I've been caught out too - I spotted the part about waiting at least 14 days, but not the 30 day condition. I took my insurance out on 25/6/09, so I'm just outside the 30 days. I don't think the condition was there at the time, but I didn't print the Ts&Cs, so no proof. I think allowing only a 2 week window to claim is pretty harsh, especially when you can't claim immediately but have to remember to come back and claim. Clearly a cunning ploy to minimise the number of claims they actually have to pay! Be warned... and make sure you put a reminder in your diary!

Andrewafresh, did you manage to speak to anyone at Moneyexpert and did you get anywhere?

    cheers.

  • So I followed Martin's guide to reduce my car insurance by checking on the comparison websites then looking at cashback sites. I found a deal for £50 off Hastings (which was cheapest on comparison sites) so went through cashback site to Hastings and entered new quote (obviously with same details as on comparison) and it's come back with a quote that's £50 more expensive than it found on the comparison sites. I've checked and checked and checked and the details are the same so why is it more expensive. Tried Co-op instead with £54 cashback but the actual co-op website won't offer me an online quote, they asked me to ring instead - no cashback there. ARGHH! Any ideas?!?! I've had no claims, no convictions etc, thought I'd be a simple risk-free customer!
  • Hi just wondering if i can claim anything to my car insurance policy way back 2006-2008 with two companies?I never claim any from them not even used much of the benefits of taking car insurance and no convictions of what so ever, and me paying about 50 plus each month. As of now I don't have a car and no insurance to pay. Has anyone got any ideas if i can claim any amount from them for unfair monthly premiums. Thank you and hoping a reply from someone.

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong but im sure you cant claim money back just because you didnt like the premium

it all depends on area car how old you are etc-at that time

if you agreed to it and paid it why should they pay you back?

    hi all
been trying to fing a cheap car insurance using the comparsion sites,
my daughter has 8 years no claims , but made a claim 50/50 2years 1 month ago, and as soon as i put that in any claims in the last 5 years it goes up, tried other sites that 'ask in the last 3 years?'
anyone know one that asks for 'the last 2 years' :-) she will be just over , or is it a case of staying with same insurance company for another year till she is over the 3 year mark.

I have a question, on reading martin's article, he said that if i make a claim then i loose 2 years of my no claims discount via and accident that was my fault...concidering this, if i had 4 years in total, then made a claim would this mean that i could still respectively have 2 years no claims discount remaining and so carry those on to the next insurance quote...or have i understood that wrongly???
