This is the norm. The increase will be pro rata for the portion remaining in your policy year.0

I was taken to them by Uswitch and got a quote for my wife's car for £138-60, which was cheaper than last year, so I signed up. Then I received a call to say that they couldn't do it without a £400 compulsory excess instead of £100 and a premium of £187, so I told them "No thanks" and sent a confirming email. Then we got all the docs including a cover note for a month and the lower premium had been deducted from my card, despite the fact the cover was not due to start until 30/7/09. After hanging on listening to Michael Jackson singing in a bucket for ages, it seems I have to return the cover note before I can get the money refunded, despite the fact that I didn't want the cover in the first place. My recommendation.... don't use Quotelinedirect!0

It is nearly always the case with any motor insurer that you must return the cert before they consider the policy cancelled and give any refund.0

Not sure where to post this but i followed Martins advice got the cheapest quote possible which was £250, rang them up to finalise it and told them i had been offered £225 elsewhere and asked them to match and they came back to me with a price of £232 which i was chuffed about. Only £18 difference but still!!Thinking it over...:o0

hi all
ive bought a new car insurance from halifax on 1st of July, ive only just recently moved to a new place this week. in my previous place my cark was parked in a driveway in Cambridge, i've now moved to ipswich in a private carpark just outside my apartment. halifax is charging me £120 extra for the year for this change.
i think this is quite a lot and have seen better deals elsewhere. although I did say yes, I wasnt really thinking properly at the time as he told me that in a carpark ppl can hit ur car easily..so i thought it was a legitimate reason although a friend as told me that it shouldnt cost me more than £100 for the year!
the question is, can i cancel this policy and switch even though ive only been wtih them for only just 3 weeks??0 -
Check the policy T&C's. You normally have a cooling off period of 14 days in which to cancel the policy.0

Hi All,
Just want to say that my fully comprehensive insurance renewal from IBUYECO was quoted as £283, I did as we all do and went through all the comparison sites and cheapest was about £184 ! I then went to AVIVA who do not quote on these sites and used quidco who currently offer £85 cashback. My quote was £183, so with the cashback my insurance is £98 !!
Just wanted to remind everyone of AVIVA and also Direct Line that don't go through comparison sites, and also to point out the good cashback through quidco.
Hope everyone can make a saving as big as mine.0 -

Yes. But expect a cancellation charge to be deducted from any refund due. Check out to be sure the savings you are going to make going elsewhere will cover this before you do anything.0 -
cancellation charge is 60 and obviously i wont get a full refund as ive been with the for 3 wks..so its not worth it
sigh
