hi, wonder if you can help me on the 13th may i had a car accident which deemed my car a total loss cat b,they have recently offered me silly money for the salvage and i have disputed the amount by means of a letter and other car advertisments,the accident wasnt my fault and the other party admitted full liability,my car was insured for 2500.00 and they offered me 1300.00 where do i stand.please help thanx
What is the exact car you have and how much are they offering the salvage for0 -
I've got a £1400 quote from Endsleigh for car insurance. I thought it'd be a good idea to get section 75 protection, but the highest limit on a card I've got is £500. I phoned up and they told me I can split it over two cards, but then I'd be forfeiting the £45 cashback (although I will try to haggle it down).
Now if this was an insurance company I'd never heard of then I'd probably err on the side of section 75. But Endsleigh are obviously long standing and pretty reliable, so I was wondering what everyone else would pick, the cashback or the protection?0 -
Do you realise there is a compensation system if your Insurer / broker go tits up which is provided by the FSCS. You are perhaps being over cautious covering the chances of Endsleigh going belly up. They are very heavily regulated by the FSA and owned by Zurich Insurance who are a very large Insurer0

Yeah I knew about that, I just thought it'd be best to play it extra safe (e.g. I'm really paranoid and pointlessly cautions
)

With a broker like Endsleigh the money you pay them generally goes into a special ring fenced account so that it ensures it is passed on to the Insurer. If Endsleigh went bankrupt your policy which would be with a different company eg an Insurer would still be valid. What normally happens is another broker will come along and take over say Endsleighs clients if they went belly up0

I've just taken out car insurance through Quidco with Swinton. They are giving £50 cashback and and additional £70 cashback for quoting a promotional code. A form has to be filled in and sent off to get the £70 but it should make the insurance very cheap!0

I have been waiting for 90 days to elapse before receiving £50 cashback from Swinton.
But now it is past due they say the deal was 120 days!!!
I think the only mention of how many days was on this website and the moneysupermarket.com site. So I have no proof!
Anyone else got this response?

Typical of Swinton0

I have since had a reply from moneysupermarket.com and they confirm that the term of the deal is 90 days as I remembered.
So I will be going back to Swinton first thing!
Cheers
