It appears tha I can only really change at renewal not mid-term.Is this right or can I just go elsewhere?
If you cancel and go elsewhere (which you can, though will incur cancellation charge etc), bear in mind the NCB implication (no concern if you already had max NCB at the start of the current policy you now have). You will get no NCB in respect of this part year if you do cancel.0 -

Can't you use the same one who helped you last time?
Ask locally for a recommendation, or failing that have a look in yellow pages etc.0 -
The British Insurance Brokers Association has the following search function, allowing you to locate a broker:

Basically it this possible?
I've informed my current car insurer that I won't be renewing due to their renewal price being significantly more expensive than the comparison websites offers.
My current insurer is the cheapest on the comparison websites, therefore is it possible to now sign up as a new customer?
Has anyone had any success doing this?
Is it indeed possible?
Any help appreciated.0 -
Hello,
I am having some problems with Lancaster Insurance for car insurance. Can you help me?
I took out a year's insurance with them through Confused.com. Then the second time I was searching for car insurance through confused.com a Lancaster Insurance salesperson persuaded me not to buy Lancaster Insurance through Confused.com but to get the insurance directly through Lancaster.
I took out six months car insurance. Later on after the six months were up, I discovered that Lancaster Insurance were still taking premiums from my bank account without my consent. The stupid thing was that I did not even own a car anymore. I have asked them to stop and cancel the insurance but they will not stop without me giving them some paperwork that I do not have. It has been well over a year since I had a car and they are still taking premiums without my permission.
How can any insurance company get away with this?
I want them to stop and I want my money back. I only took out insurance for six months. I feel that they have taken money from my bank account without my permission and they should repay me the premiums they took after the six month term. That's over a year's premiums.0 -
They will want the certificate back.
Send it in with a letter cancelling your policy.0 -
