If your looking for cheeper car insurance STAY AWAY from AUTO NET i had my insurance from them for a year then canceld it 4 months ago.
went to my bank today and guess what? it was empty due to the fact that autonet had took over £450 out using my card details that i gace them back in 2008 and by the way this was not a direct debit they took it as a visa payment. phoned auto net up they said nothing they can do, promised a call back within the hour from a manager but 2 days and 4 emails later no reply so i am now opening a fraud discussion with my bank

STAY AWAY FROM THEM THEY ARE ROBBING B$£%£RDS:confused:

A&L ostensibly seem to have the best price beater promise going. If they can't beat your renewal premium, you get a year's free cover:

Sounds great, but I assume that in practice this means they will always come in just below your renewal premium. (eg, Assume their normal premium would be £290, but your renewal is £250. They either have to offer you £249 or give you free cover. I think it is obvious what they will do.) I would be fascinated to hear of anyone who actually gets the free cover.

Ive just tried to get a car insurance quote from A&L for my boyfriend who is a 49yr old male with max no claims. i only got as far as the first page putting in his name and contact details and his job and it come up that they were unable to quote for his details !!! I think it maybe his job as he is a self employed taxi driver.

    Basically it this possible?

I've informed my current car insurer that I won't be renewing due to their renewal price being significantly more expensive than the comparison websites offers.

My current insurer is the cheapest on the comparison websites, therefore is it possible to now sign up as a new customer?

Has anyone had any success doing this?

    Is it indeed possible?

    Any help appreciated.

I insure with churchill they have always been the cheapest for me, i did a search last year when i was at renewal i found the cheapest quote was for churchill but via their website it was quote abit cheaper than my renewal quote so i rang them and explained this - they offered to do my the internet deal over the phone - which i did, i just had to give them the internet enquiry reference number. :money:

getting reasonable Quotes from More Than Insurance - anyone used them before and comment on their customer service?
Only thing is on website quotes you cannot go back and make changes to occupation and annual mileage.....unless i have missed something?

More than are part of the Royal and Sun Alliance group so are part of a very big Insurer, they are quite good.

Some people do not like the off shore call centres though

This year i have found more than to be most competitive, not just for me but also for my Mum and Sister. (especially when cash back is taken into account)
I've phoned them twice this week,, once to add drivers to my policy and once about Sisters policy, on both occasions they were very friendly and helpful (english too) so i can't fault service so far. Not sure what its like if need to make a claim

yeah they been very friendly ringing me up a few times since i got an online quote..hopefully this level of service is the same if one is a customer.
But i got my renewal from Privilege thro at £395...online price with Privilege was £360 but when i phone them to cancel auto renewal they said they could match More Than price of £320! Only thing is More than give £68 quidco!
  • Can someone help me out? I done a check for car insurance through moneysupermarket.com and Swinton came cheapest with a £75 cashback offer. I thought i'd check this out before i signed up and im glad i did!

MSM claimed Swinton deals with the cashback and Swinton claims my quote does not include any cashback and MSM sometimes make up deals and transfered me to Tiger.co.uk.

Surely this is some kind of fraud?

My sister has no internet access. Is there any telephone comparison sites or brokers she could contact as she always renews her car insurance with the same company every year when the renewal letter comes in.
