    Original plan today:
Get up early prepare easy dinner for tonight (Saturday night)
    Start to decorate - Done
clean up corner of horror and other things in order to decorate part II 1.st layer in bedroom - Done
Drive 2 hours to meet up w uni son, hang out, take him back to coast accommodation pick up his bike and other bits he doesn't need, drive home - well
Did all of the above and then realised car was increasingly displaying soggy clutch and hyper revving symptoms! Eventually car died in very inconvenient location.
Next time you see an offer of roadside recovery ... RUN
I managed to wait 7 hours to travel 60 miles. The roadside recovery took me to the local Morrisons, and thats genuinely when everything stopped. No offers of a sneaky upgrade, or information, only dis information and eventually a significant bill for home transport that they expect people to pay directly on the spot.
Car broke down at 8 pm and I finally got home at 3 AM.
The RA* person also did say that they would be there by about 11.15 and the pick up to drive my car home finally showed up at 1.30.:eek::(
I actually flipped out when they turned off the lights in the Morrisons parking lot it was really scary - and when I locked the car while in it it triggered an alarm in the car that I didn't know it had. Just weird..
So I guess I have hit bottom and am now getting kicked in the face by my own decisions to save money, and not check conditions more closely, although I doubt they would say - 'we will leave you to rot in a car park on a Saturday evening, because you are just not our best customer.'

This year is too much about me and cars and driving. I got the car dropped off at my home, so I can call round and get clutch quotes on Monday Morning. :money::money:

    Tomorrow:
    Sleep in
    Go or a cheerful run
    Eat pancakes
    Complete decorating bedroom
    Ignore clutch-less car out front
    Tea w friend
    NSD
    All meals from store
Talk to friends and family on free app :j:j

ditty that does sound eventful. Hope you're ok and have caught up on some sleep.

I'm awake early again so going to catch up on here and a few other things before household wakes. Then I can crack on with:

    Going for a long run
Make the cake I didn't do yesterday, wondering if it can double up as pudding
Get ready for week ahead - make some soup
Order a product, use a couple of vouchers to bring the cost down. Rest from household pot
Set up smart plug on a lamp to test and then work out best place for it to live
make a roast dinner, chicken carcass in the sc,
Pop to garden centre to see if I can use my vouchers
Check for fruit in garden looks like lots will be ready whilst we're away. Typical! Must tell friend to help herself so it doesn't go to waste
New annual budget starting in 4 weeks so will double check it all and save a copy. I can then compare it in 12 months time to see what amends I needed, will do that with this years before I finalise it.

Have a good day all Purps.
  • Morning folks

Ditty - how awful! What did they expect you do to from there?!

Been awol the last couple of days. Felt a bit rough Thurs evening/Friday and was worried that the chest infection was reoccurring but apparently just a small bug. Did a little pootly jobs yesterday in between crochet rows so had a gentle day.

Bit tired today all of a sudden but probably just a bit stressed with work.

Not much to report today - rain bad but gutter repair seems to be holding ok. Luckily it stopped raining just before I left the house. Some n0bh3ad decided to swerve into a massive puddle to splash me on my walk to work but I was in head-to-toe waterproofs so suck on that :D

    Today's list:
    :heartpuls B/L/D from stores
:heartpuls Put black beans into s/c
    :heartpuls No alcohol
:heartpuls Washing off rack as it dries
    :heartpuls Washing away
:heartpuls If OH picks me up, ask him to bring drill by front door as am passing it to a work colleague.

    Have a good one all

CLF - The R** booked the transporter home with a contractor at cheaper rate(still about £200), but requesting up front payment and it took them 4 hours to get there. So I just feel like a right idiot but I really think they took the advantage. Or I should have just read the small print.

Ditty- I complained to R** following a break down a few years ago and got £60 as an apology. So if don’t feel you were dealt with correctly might be worth a try?

    Hi everyone

Gosh Ditty! What a nightmare. Next time say you have a baby with you! :o:rotfl:
CLF - hope you're feeling better soon. Stress not about work if at all possible!! It's not good for you m'dear.

I'm on a mission to sort our mortgage today...

    Also need to:
    - Slow cook chicken
    - Make bread
    - Not washing my hair ;)
    - Bought a second hand book - not fussed about it being in pristine condition
    - One load of washing going on the airer (not the TD :naughty:)
    - Making good use of my netflix subscription (i.e. being lazy in front of TV :rotfl:)

    Righto, happy Sunday everyone!

twiggy - their customer service is supposed to call me on Monday, but really good to know.

Escosesa I'm a bit superstitious about fibbing and I wan't people w actual babies to get help quickly. To be fair the parking lot was just creepy - but before that I they left me at the side of the A road w lots of trucks about 2 feet from the car and very windy for abut an hour and a half. Not a good evening, I am feeling quite exhausted.

But it's Sunday, looking forwards to a car free week, I've got the money for car repair ... I hope ... thanks to blitzing budgets and stay cation :-).

Hope everybody have a great Sunday and double check your car recovery documentation. :-)

  • Afternoon everyone :D feeling really spritely today :D Been for a run, nipped to the allotment to do some harvesting - I might go back for an hour of weeding/digging when oh puts madam to bed ;) - Have tidied up the house - just need to vacuum & clean b/r - and all ready with drinks and snacks as madam & I are going out :D

Ditty that is shocking! I thought AA and RAC had a policy they won't leave a woman alone at night time? I would be raising one hell of a raucous over this. Also what a massive blow to all your hard work on keeping your costs down. To quote CLF think how much worse it would be if you were being reckless with money. At least with your ninja money saving skills it's slightly less of an impact. Be super loving to yourself today x

I don't really have much on other than the things mentioned above. Dinner will be some mackerel fillets as they need using, only thing is they are 3 days out of date. They are vacuumed sealed and smell ok. Shall I risk it?!

sewing later - I have set my goals for the following week :D

    Ok better get going x
