Trailingspouse sorry to have missed you. The children are still at training at that time. Dd would have loved to join in, ds well who knows with teenagers, I think it is dependent on the wind direction.

I managed everything on my list :)

It took us less than an hour, during rush hour, to get home. Why have we only just discovered East Riddlesden Hall? If we had known of it previously we would have visited it many times.

    I'm a woman on a difficult mission. :(

When we moved home in a hurry we put a lot of things into storage. Nearly two years down the line it's ALL still there. And it is costing me a fortune. And they are going to charge us an extra £9 per month from Sept.

Easier to forget about it than to deal with it. I have finally convinced DW to let us get rid of it all. Plan A was to sort it all within a couple of months of moving. Think we're on Plan K now.

Wish us luck, this is going to be complicated.

(On the positive side I think a very kind colleague is going to let us use her car to bring the stored mattress home as we need it there and she is going to be cheaper than van hire.)

    Morning folks

Ally - good luck with the storage unit!

Quite productive yesterday evening. I put more sealant on the pipe as I just cannot work out where the remaining drip is coming from. Also put more cement onto any potential gap in the wall. This will hopefully keep us dry over the next few rainy days until OH can deploy the Water Seal.

    Today's mission:
    :heartpuls B/L/D from stores
:heartpuls Blanch cabbage in the fridge and freeze
:heartpuls Washing on 30 deg with reduced spin and onto the line to dry - done
    :heartpuls OH to do housework
:heartpuls Charge phone in work - done
:heartpuls Try to steer OH clear of going out after work. Poss go for a walk?
:heartpuls Gym at lunchtime - done. Better than expected!
    :heartpuls No alcohol

    Have a good one all

  • Morning :D good luck with your mission ally. Just think how freeing it will be to let go of all that stuff you're not using :D

Argh I'm coming to the end of my time off. I've had such a nice couple of weeks just spending fun times with madam. Still have 2 days left though!

Today not sure what our plans are after the walk with pup. We are picking up a friend's girl at 3 and going to the beach to hang out and have chips, so just the middle of the day that is uncertain!

    Things to do:

    * flylady lounge
    * put away yesterday's washing
    * make batch of chorizo & chickpea stew
    * going to go and spend an hour sewing very shortly
    * 30 mins in the garden
    * make loaf of bread
    * dig out mdf to make madam's headboard. Before I even begin I need to see if I have the wood
    * might ask my neighbour if I can use his drill. Our chuck isn't working so the drill piece comes undone constantly. Need to investigate if I can get a replacement
    * have overnight oats for breakfast. Made with a frozen banana (past best ;) ) and some yogurt I got but don't really like. Not letting that go to waste :naughty:
    * still need to cut my hair. Might style it in to a pampering session with madam, mani, pedi, de fuzz, face mask and the like
    * madam to read free library book
    * might nip in to town with madam and get her passport photo done as need to renew

Ok that is all I can think of. Pretty achievable list :D

    Morning all :)
Wow, you sound like a woman on a mission Ally. It will be good to get rid of the self storage costs. Is there anything else you can move while you have the use of your colleague's van? Don't be too hasty and chuck it all - think what else (apart from the mattress) you can use, think 'shopping from home' (that is a Foxgloves expression, I think!). And is any of the rest saleable? You have a few weeks till the rent on the storage goes up. Do you have to give a certain period of notice that you are giving it up? I know I am a bit weird, but I would quite enjoy a challenge like that :o
Must do some housework today, as it fell by the wayside yesterday. OH will help, as he lives here as well!!
    Apart from that:
    HG blueberries with breakfast

Wash hair and leave to dry on its own

Load of washing, weather forecast uncertain, but needs must.
Ironing  only the bits that really need it (as if I would stand there ironing tea towels for the fun of it :rotfl:)
    Check banks / update spreadsheet
    Food will be from home
    Watering / harvesting in garden

OK, better get on with some of it!

BaileysBabe - really glad you enjoyed it, sorry to have missed you. I might be a bit biased, but I think East Riddlesden Hall is fab, a real hidden gem. The Gingerbread happens every Monday and Thursday during school holidays (I do it on a Monday. Thursday is my 'normal' room guiding day so I'm there anyway, if you see what I mean!!).

Right. Now I need to go and do all the jobs I should have done yesterday but didn't...

Go to the bank. Done. Name now changed on my bank account and my personal loan account.
Paint the damp patch. Done. Will do the final coat this evening.
    Sort Sky
Also add to the list -

return milk to Aldi that's gone off 5 days before its use by date
    buy a mallet (don't ask...)
ring the hairdressers - I thought I had an appointment yesterday, but when I got there it was closed, and then I remembered that she's always closed on a Monday. So - when is the actual appointment?? If I don't get it cut soon I'll have to tie it up at the front like a Yorkshire Terrier! Done. It turns out she'd written the date down wrong on my card - wrote 'Tuesday 5th' when it should have been 'Tuesday 6th' - and I'd just copied it across to my diary as 5th without noticing that the day didn't match. I rang at 20 to 10, and she said 'You're appointment's today at 10' so I literally just put my shoes on and and ran out the door!! Feeling much better for being pruned!! She was quite embarrassed that I'd turned up yesterday when they were closed, so knocked a bit off the bill, which was lovely of her, and much appreciated.

    Have a good Tuesday everyone.

    Morning all!

Yesterday was a good day! Helped by the fact I had a message from lodger to say he was doing us a bbq for dinner (after I'd already been to the shop and bought stuff for dinner but I shouldn't complain!) Plus my class ended up being cancelled so that's £5 saved, although I do really enjoy it!

    So today I have/will:-
Done washing up (normally OH's "job" but he is a tap runner(!!!) so more MSE if I do it!)
Squeeze out toothpaste (OH/lodger seem to have already moved onto a new tube!)
Take lunch to work (2/5 for the week)
Not buy coke whilst at the shop! (One of my downfalls which I'm trying to stop!)
    Snap receipt
    Update spreadsheet with spends
    Check One poll for surveys
Check banks (one of my balance transfers is now complete)
    Go to gym at lunch
Check if there's anywhere to park for free near hospital for appointment tomorrow
See if I can fix blender part (it came apart in the washing up bowl - grrr!)
    Dinner from stores
Make smoothies to use up bits
Cut up melon (had for ages so needs using)

Hope everyone has a good day!

I take it you turned up the thermostat?

Ally it's turned up to max and then some, the most it can go to:(
I don't envy u with the storage unit, decluttering the house is a nightmare in itself::eek:

The fridge/freezer is struggling badly now, I just need it to hang on until Friday.
Thinking of using CLF idea with the new fridge/freezer just to protect it from the oven:(

Tomorrow it's sort out stairlift day. Got to go and choose a carpet for the stairs and landing ready for when the new stairlift does go in.

    Banking all checked, everything good.
    Quidco checked

Managed to get a Christmas (sorry everyone!) present for DD BF yesterday. It's a coffee machine, brand new but got it cheaper (alot cheaper) because of the box looking slightly battered. Checked and everything brand new and nicely in place inside:T

Only managed to have a fall and then nearly fell out of the wheel chair again later on yesterday:eek:
I'm sore today. All checked by the district nurse, stoma is working fine and no bleeding but need to be more careful. It just seemed to be disaster day yesterday.

Weather not the best today, very windy but DD taking me out as I have a few jobs to do in town.
Some paperwork done, would like to do abit more today

Going to make a slow cooker chicken curry today. DD managed to pick up a big pack of YS chicken 4.80 down to 47p. Spare portions will be portioned up and i'll have to pinch some freezer space in my DM freezer

Can't think of anything else, I'm sure there is!
    Have a great day everyone
