What small DFW things will you do w/c 5th August?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!:money:

Shopping list, go later
Lots of washing and peg out after being away

Have a good day all. Purps.0 -

PurpleFairy thank you for this weeks thread :A
OH has a weeks leave starting today, we have planned a few trips out, making use of membership cards.
The children have training later this morning then we are going on to East Riddlesden Hall. We have membership which will cover the entrance, possibly buy hot drinks or ice creams whilst there.
Todays list:
Write meal plan
Write shopping list
Go shopping and stick to list
Put all the shopping away
B/L/D from stores
Pack snacks, lunch and drinks
Home educate children, we will squeeze some lessons in before training and possibly continue this evening depending how we get on
Record all spends

I've been keeping up with dealing with incoming emails and I am happy with the progress I am making with the older ones.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

BaileysBabe - I'll be making Gingerbread in the Discovery Room at East Riddleden Hall from 12:30. Come and join in (£1 per head) - or just to say hi!!
Other things to do today -
- check how much paint I have, in the hopes that I can cover a damp patch (source of dampness sorted, just cosmetic fixing-up required now)
- have hair cut. I used to have it done every 6 weeks, but knocked it back to 8 weeks in an attempt to save money. Hate how floppy and irritating it gets, so now have to decide whether to go back to every 6 weeks, or grow it out so I don't have to have it cut at all. Or shave it all off (tempting, and wouldn't be the first time...)
- dry the washing I did yesterday (totally forgot about it!)
- go to the bank to change the name on my account - can't do it online, you have to go to a branch. The bank in question is within walking distance, it's just finding the time to actually do it that's the challenge.
- and finally I need to speak to Sky to see how much they'll charge me for multi-room. If it's not a crazy amount I'll have it added before the lodger moves in (and his rent will pay for it).
- put the finishing touches to my blog, ready to post tomorrow morning.
With all the rain over night, I don't need to water the garden today (or for several days I think). Some frustration as I watered last night, and it started to rain just as I finished!!
Enjoy the sunshine today - it looks like we're in for more wetness tomorrow and beyond.

Good morning folks
Thanks for your well wishes. Dawn - yep I had reported the hole but no reply so I had to take matters into my own hands. The LL is not keen on spending money.
Feeling very sleepy today and can't quite concentrate. Luckily I'm working on something straightforward.
Today's mseness:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done.
:heartpuls Bath mats washed on reduced spin and out on the line to dry - done.
:heartpuls No alcohol - done.
:heartpuls Gym at lunchtime (a nice easy row to start off) - not open.
:heartpuls Emptied dehumidifier water into water butt - done.
:heartpuls Ask OH to look for some Waterseal at his mum's - result! There is! £20 saved
.
Have a good one all

Thanks for starting the thread purps. How decadent eating out twice in one day! And lovely one was free
ditty you are putting me to shame with all you are doing! I really am on holiday mode. Madam had the choice of a number of activities and has opted for asking friends round for a play date
Will make sandwiches and a cake and probably pick up a punnet of strawberries for a cheap mini tea party
So far in to our summer holidays we have used £14.50 of our £100 holiday budget
need to take pup for a good walk
reading with madam before making the cake
think I'll make a chickpea and chorizzo stew ready for returning to work on Thurs :'(
30 mins garden work - after my lovely stint at the allotment yesterday I don't think I can give it up! Need to put a lot of effort in at the end of the season to try to get it to a low maintenance plot
