    Hello all :)
Can't sleep  so decided to catch up on here. Lots of useful tips today
And it is nice to see new people / returners :)
Out for a meal this evening (a rare occurrence, but DD1, SiL and GDs 2 and 3 were camping fairly nearby for a work thing, so we met up with them). Only a pub meal though, so not too spendy.
    Other things:
    HG blueberries for breakfast :)

    Housework :(
Washed bedding, mostly dried on the line, in between downpours

The new catch for the oven door arrived, so OH fixed it :T Only cost was the part which was less than £7 from ebay.
Sold an ebay item, now packed and ready to post tomorrow :)
Picked and open froze some yellow raspberries :)
    Picked spinach / chard
And another courgette - I have lots again, despite making a batch of Foxgloves' courgette curry a couple of days ago. Ratatouille next I think!
Going to try and go to bed again I think!

Dawn hope you managed some sleep

    My list for today
Aim for a run before it gets too hot
Check banking, try and work out a transaction I'm now querying with myself from something I did about 6 weeks ago
    Washing out on line
    WFH :j
    Meals from planner
Roast or jam some rhubarb I was gifted
Out tonight with pal, the place we used to go and buy 2 drinks has started doing refillable hot drinks so now only need to buy one :rotfl:
Pick raspberries and blueberries. Stake raspberries if I have time

Have a good day all Purps.

    Morning all :)
Managed a few hours sleep, but will need extra coffee today!
    Today's plans:
HG blueberries for breakfast, along with a brown banana Done

Hang bedding on airer to finish off, as rain is forecast again I think Not yet
    Make a cake Not yet
Walk into town to post an ebay parcel Posted, but I drove
Might head to supermarket while out and sort out my monthly food bank donation Done :T
Water the big pots I planted up (with plants I already had) yesterday, as you usually can't depend on rain to water pots adequately Done
All food from home Done, had French beans with dinner, and berries from the garden with ice cream for pudding :)

Got side tracked this morning, tidying and weeding in the front garden. Looks much better now :)

DD2 brought the little ones round this afternoon, so nothing else much got done. After they had gone I drove into town (no time to walk and get to the post office on time) so also went to the SM. Did my FB donation for the month, and got additional ingredients I need to make ratatouille (just some veg) and pickle some leftover shallots (vinegar). Also succumbed to a reduced griddle pan :o but have been wanting one for ages.
I have however just peeled the shallots and sprinkled with salt, ready for rinsing, drying and pickling tomorrow - I extra small job done :)

    That'll do!

    Morning folks!

Oh my days I am so sore. 3 weeks off the gym with that illness and now back in. I feel like I've gone 10 rounds with Tyson

Weather is holding here for today so I got OH to put the Waterseal on the wall. We've done all we can now so hopefully it'll hold in this heavy rain

    Today's mseness:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done
:heartpuls Reconcile budget sheet. Was actually much easier than I thought it would be as I was given some cash by MIL and I have been spending it and using it to offset various virtual pots. Cannot believe it all came out in the wash! - done
:heartpuls Make meal plan for next week - done
:heartpuls Go foraging for blackberries with OH - done
:heartpuls Do some crochet - done
:heartpuls Take meter readings and put into app as forgot yesterday. The app has totally given up on my gas usage. It doesn't ever show it any more!
:heartpuls Post OH's old passport and some seeds :)
    :heartpuls Tidy round - done
:heartpuls Put washing mountain away - done

    Have a good one all

    Morning all.

Managed a NSD yesterday up until 9pm when OH nabbed some money out my purse! He did get squash which we needed though.

    Today I have/ will:
Do washing up to avoid Mr TapRunner doing it later!
    Take lunch to work
    Check banks
    Update spreadsheet
Activate online account for new balance transfer card
Do free pilates class at work
    Check One poll and Prolific
Make little list for Mr L shop (can walk there from work)
    Shop to list!
    Snap receipt
Go to circuits (last class from block bought previously) but not go for a drink afterwards (we don't always do that!)
    Dinner from stores
Wash face with water and makeup flannel

That's everything I can think of for now. Hope you all have a really good day!

Please be careful HK! We don't want you to hurt yourself!!

Reading up quickly on the fridge/oven situation... you will probably need some sort of proper thing to help protect the ff from the heat. I builder might know more. Essentially because the ff will have to work harder a lot of the time, it will break quicker :(

Until the new one comes, try to minimise the number of times you open the door - possibly get a smaller milk etc each day and just leave it out of the fridge so you don't have to open it?

Apologies if you know this already :)

Awww many thanks CLF. While I am forever grateful for the adapted kitchen I now have (ironing board that pulls out from a drawer, pull out shelves just to name some great things to it) I did lose alot of storage space and planning wise there was just nowhere else to put the fridge/freezer. It doesn't help that out of all the rooms in the house it's the warmest one and really catches the sun of an afternoon.

The fridge bit is working better than the freezer.DD and I have been emptying it-if there was ever a good excuse to have a declutter of the fridge/freezer it's now:) The bits that have just lived in there rent free!:rotfl::rotfl:

Still have DD BF here. Very quickly whipped pizza out of the freezer last night. Have managed to run that down quite a bit so not much packing up tomorrow.

OT came out about the stairlift yesterday along with getting a row about behaving myself.

Ive done some slight damage to stoma along scalpel line so district nurse back out tomorrow.

Sneaking out for a cheeky small meeting this afternoon. Tbh they are a good friend aswell so will be a good chance to catch up while getting some bits updated.

DD BF did some work on the front garden yesterday and DD finished it off. Ended up getting rid of the 'gardener' I use the term loosely as £15 for 5 minutes strimming and mowing while destroying the grass was not my idea of a gardener. My mum uses him but I got rid quickly in the end.

    Banking all checked, everything good
    Must check quidco

Welcome Yorkshire lassit's a great thread that keeps me on the straight and narrow:)

Took DD BF out for food yesterday. It's a quirky little pancake place, really lovely. DD and I had a bet of what he would order. It ended up being nil and void so we split the bill which I didn't mind as it was nice getting out for some fresh air and just behaving myself :rotfl::rotfl:

Need to sort out my mobile and getting the bill down, esp as I'm now out of contract.
Plan today-to behave myself :D, mini meeting and finish decluttering fridge

Have a great day everyone x

    Hi all

Been at a conference today, so free food and drink all day! Went out cycling with some friends tonight, so not spent a penny. Oh and I had a drama because I remembered that I hadn't cancelled my car insurance, I have taken out a multi-car policy with DS1 and DS2 but forgot to cancel the old one. Had a horrible feeling they would charge me but I rang up and it was fine, phew.

So I think it is confession time, I am a cultural addict and sometimes I just need a day out, a day out of my provincial town, a day out w family, a few happy pics and that tired happy feeling when you get home. Thats me tonight.
I gave up going away on holiday and almost had to give up any days out, but I had a small windfall from back paid tax credits. So today went to the capital, which is only about an hour by train - but because I have not been since before Christmas ... I also had to buy a network rail pass. This will be paid back in 3 trips, and I always get super off peak tickets without tube - we walked about 17000 steps today - each.
We went to see a manga exhibition at British M and my art fund pass gave me 50%off but lo and behold my ds age 16 got all of £2 off the full price - what an absolute rip off. But that was really the only thing we paid full price for. We brought lunches and cakes and water. At some point we got sodas at a Ald* local and Japanese takeout for a bargain and ate it outside in a lovely place in the sunshine.
A lot of money spent and I will be doing it again next week w ds2 but it is such a lovely way to spent time w young ones - a bit of input, a lot walking, a bit of chatting and with my art fund pass and my rail card I can sneak in to see stuff on a Saturday or Sunday during term time if I need a bit of a break, without spending the fortune I spent to day.
And of course we left late and ds went to gym before trip and I painted second coat on first half of my bedroom, so I should be able to complete room on Saturday and stat moving in.
And last night I ran a charity mile - the fastest time yet.
I now only have a week and a half left of my productive endless summer staycation - and I want to make the most of it.
Tomorrow should be all NSD, decorating, weeding and walking the little fluffy dog.

And now I will have a very non MSE glass of red.

Hi ditty, have you ever used the adobe scan app? You can take photos of stuff with your camera and then resize etc... Just in case you didn't want to keep the original prints

Hi La escocesa I like the paper, the smell, all of the different sizes ... the weird scraps of text ... and sometimes I use it for examples for students etc. So scanning would work for some things and not for others! I feel digital stuff often gets lost and forgotten ... at least in my head.

    Hi August Austerity-Fans,

Busy day at home and then a busy night at work. _pale_

We are continuing with our Detach Declutter De-stress mission.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Five:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * List two camera lenses on eBay for DW. Done.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 304/500. None today.

*Contact potential buyers of white appliances who are coming later today. Done. Need to meet folk at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2pm and 2.30pm. If all these folk buy then we will have sold all our appliances and, once we've retrieved our mattress on Monday, we can give up the storage unit. :j Still have a feeling of unease about all this. I won't feel comfortable until it's all over and the Direct Debit for storage is cancelled.

    * Buy ice hockey tickets. Done, triple discount: One age-related discount, one percentage off from my employer, some TopCashback. Over £7 saved.
