It depends some people are reporting receiving a visa debit card as a replacement. Personally when mine expired a few months ago I received a MasterCard debit card a picture of which I posted earlier on in this thread.

It can’t be a select account then if you were sent a red Visa card as the select account card is black and silver. If you do have a select account then you have been sent the wrong card. 

I have a select account and my card looks like this:

Yes i think I was getting confused I opened a current account for some out goings in relation to a property I am purchasing so didnt need all the extras.

It's arrived. A visa (black / silver select card)! Expires next year - somethings definitely changing. Cards never have such short dates!

Hi guys, so is this new santander mastercard the same as our visa/debit card? Just received mine and it expires in 2025. Whats peoples thoughts?

One difference is that you can freeze your Santander Mastercard but can't freeze Santander Visa cards.
