i received a message stating that I had successfully created the installation USB. I am however, experiencing great problems loading windows. It showed region so I clicked on UK and the process continued but went to ' just a moment' for about 3 mins before the message Something went wrong showed with the option to try again or skip this for now. I have tried both options and have received different message of errors. They were 00BEREGION, ,OOBELOCAL and also OOBEZDP. I am not sure how to proceed further with this installation and would be pleased to receive advice.0

After many attempts at clicking Try Again it eventually moved on to the point of setting a pin. Unfortunately it wouldn't allow that but gave the option to skip it and set one later, which I took. It is now showing the message 'Something went wrong OOBESETTINGSMULTIPAGE.
Would it be worth trying to turn it off and then on again and re installing windows from the USB?0 -
Out of interest, how do you connect to the internet? Wi-Fi or network/ethernet cable? Is your internet connection slow?
I have seen errors after you connect to Wi-Fi network during setup where the internet isn't fast enough, triggering errors. I don't see it very often so I could be entirely wrong. But after you connect setup to a wireless network, wait about 5 minutes to give it a chance to catch up with whatever it's doing.
If you aren't using a Microsoft account and creating a local account, you could just try not connecting to the internet at all until setup has completed. Then connect to the internet and run Windows Update.
Personally I'd run setup again, for the sake of the 10 minutes it will take to do.0 -

Is it Windows 10 32 bit that you are installing?
Have a go instead with installing your Linux Mint DVD (32 bit version), so as to check if there are issues with the hardware.
Pop the DVD in the drive, restart the device and on restart, press F12. When the Boot Menu appears, you can choose the optical drive as the one from which to Boot.
Choose to Erase disk and install Linux Mint during the installation.0 -
Not sure if I missed it, but how much RAM has the computer got?0

I am pleased to report that after many attempts at 'try again' and much perseverance it finally loaded and I must say that on initial trial, like this site now, it is much quicker Thank you to everybody who helped me. I shall now move on to installing Linux on the Compaq after installing the printer etc on this Acer.0

Help whom? They had already fitted the SSD by the time you posted.
The was no useful info within your post at all. On the contrary, if too many people post, it can end up confusing the OP.
Your post is a case in point. You posted without bothering to note at what stage the OP.
Careless if you ask me.0
