    Afternoon all :)
Having a bit of a lazy day after all the rushing about yesterday :o
Was up before 6 though, as I can't just lie in bed when I am not asleep.
Had HG blueberries and raspberries for breakfast
Cleared up kitchen a bit, loaded DW and cleared sink, put recycling in bin etc

Cleaned bath, basin and loo - still need to do the bathroom floor though!
Made a small batch of green tomato chutney - noticed signs of blight on 2 tomato plants which have looked a bit ropey for ages, so got rid of them. Hoping the others don't get it :( Anyway, I picked off the green tomatoes, and wasn't going to waste them!
    Still to do:
    Bathroom floor!
Ironing :( but not too much, thankfully!
Feed and water stuff in garden
    Pick anything that is ready
Dinner will be leftover quiche, a baked potato and salad.

Hope you are better soon Ziggy :(

It's been a few years since I was last around, but it's nice to recognise some names! Serious wake up call so back on the boards!

    So today I have/will:
    Come back on here!
    Work out budget
    Update spreadsheet
    Pay 2x credit cards
    Cancel mortgage overpayment
    Claim topcashback payable amount
Reactivate Reciept Hog and snap old receipt
Eat lunch from stash that's been sat in my desk for months! (Naked noodle - not a moldy sandwich!)
    Aim for NSD
Dinner at a friend's this eve

Think that's all for today, but hoping this is the first step in the right direction!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,100
Total paid off - £10,500.89 (67% paid off)

To me NSD days seems to be as real as the end of the rainbow! I don't know if it's lack of planning or just me wanting to do something all of the time.
Today was the opposite of NSD, but on the other hand a lovely and productive day. Went to Outlet village ie Disnyfied shopping experience, and it was ... but never mind my MSE son got 3 t-shirts, and hoodie for about £85 and it's all very branded stuff that he is really proud for and it is his own money.
I gave him a nice sweatshirt for £25. He is starting 6 form and its his first year with out uniform.
His first memorable fit when he was 2 was him not wanting to wear his new blue shoes!
So I don't buy him clothes, I just give contributions and discuss extensive why and how to 'dress for less'. Ad it's both working and not working as per above.
The highlight though was a free exhibition at Modern Art Oxford, which was beautiful portraits and free. Still had to pay for P&R and M*S lunch, we brought lunch - but as we were both up working before the trip - we should have brought more food.
So that was my budget for the month, gone before it starts. But we identified 2 other art places to go to over the holls - which are almost free, and I might get some extra cash at some point - as we also need to go into London for a day - and that will be pricy w train and exhibition prices.
Is it mad to want to go and do things - what does people do for inspiration?
We do all the free things bike, walk, kayak, ds has gym membership where he meets 2 different friends, we work on the home, see people?
I could probably improve my picnic lunch skills so we only have to pay transport and exhibition entries when we do stuff?
Combining 2 things today at least made the driving cost worth while, and as it will be beans on toast for the month.
Anyways bedroom decorating is progressing - tomorrow is great box elimination day and then hopefully I will be able to complete on Friday. Except i want to do a long run and am going to a ladies picnic so I need to find a MSE vegan meal to bring? Might make a raw beet and carrot salad w feta and bake some bread ups ... guess feta will have to be separate.
I'll have a look at the recipe lists.
Now off to do first official 5 k club run, wish me under 37min - yes I'm a bit of a slow coach.
    Happy mid week.
Tomorrow off to do a Sainsbury shop with voucher.. so will have to do some planning and make a meal plan for the next 2 weeks. Tonight is left over pasta bake from last nights fridge round up, as ds has gone to his dads.

    Morning Campers,
Ziggy - hope you feel better today. I have a relative with TN, so I know how the most random things can set off facial pain.
I haven't planned a huge job list today as I want to finish a research project I've been doing, but I will definitely be doing the following:
*Not going out, so no spending.
*Pick more courgettes & tomatoes, plus lettuce & spring onions. Will probably need to pick more beans too.
*Bake a loaf & batch of cobs.
*Iron only what really needs it.
    *Finish knitting Christmas present sock.
*Continue dead heading garden to keep the colour going, if it stays dry.
*Put away everything in my stair basket.
    *Update dfw diary.
Well, m'ducks, I've had my caffeine, best get the ample backside into gear. The sooner my jobs are done, the sooner I can be doing other things.
    Have a good day, all,

    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Morning all  :coffee:
It's the first of the month, and in spite of my best efforts things are already looking tight. It's time for me to sit down and make some proper plans for getting on track. I can only blame divorce for so long, and we're a good 18 months or so down the line now - even if it is still all dragging out and I'm still paying solicitors. 1 August is a good time for a fresh start...
After extended absence for exam marking, then a week away on holiday, I've spent the past four days in hospital with my ds. I am eternally grateful that he didn't get sick while we were actually away on holiday but he was very poorly by Sunday - so much so that 111 told me to take him straight to A&E. I thought it was a tummy bug from hols but turns out to be a suspected kidney infection (although nothing was caught in any tests or scans). After a few days of IV antibiotics he's home in my care and almost back to his old self. Thank God for the nhs because my only expenses have been car parking and the very expensive caf! and shop. Can't imagine what would have happened if I'd had to have paid for his treatment as well. Couple of follow up appointments to come.
So today's plans are more about relaxing than anything else. But there's always a list...
:p Hair appointment for me and ds
:p Declutter a minimum of 31 items (doing foxgloves decluttering challenge in reverse)
:p Continue with my diet and only eating food that I already have in
:p Write a list of essential holiday time buys (school uniform etc)
    :p Another load of washing
    :p Hoover through
:p Nap if I need to
:p Make sure ds takes his medication and stays hydrated
:p Look after ds bestie and allow them to play on Fortnite all day as I don't want ds out and about just yet.
:p Contact my solicitor for an update
There will be other things no doubt but that will do for now.
Have a good day everyone - and Ziggy and HK I hope that you're feeling ok soon

@Crazy Cat Lady - super slow here, but I am sorry to hear about your divorce

So I didn't manage a NSD yesterday as all the free parking near my friends was taken and I was running late so didn't have time to consider further away. But normally we eat out somewhere so it was cheaper than that and I had a lovely evening!

    Today I will:
    Be accountable on here
    Check banks
Look into alternative TV providers to see if I can reduce cost
See if there's anything else I think I can bring down the cost of
Go to free pilates class at work
    Eat lunch from draw stash
Draw out cash for the month (I'm better with cash than card)
    Buy milk (and only milk!)
Only go to circuits if I've got any sessions left (pre-buy but lost track so waiting for update from instructor) - if not it is a luxury that may have to go
Start on a freezer/ cupboard inventory to spend as little as poss on groceries
Dinner from stores - use up rest of mince mixture which I used for burgers the other night/ freeze

That's everything I can think of for now!

Hope you all have a good day!
