I,'d certainly  cry off the £50 and remind them there's a crisis ongoing and that Yiu need that miney for essential things for yiur family.  Don,t let other people pull your strings.  You'd need to be the decision maker, not other people !

Goodness what a difference between your sister and my brother. It is his birthday on Tuesday and he has told us all not to get him a card or send a present as he does not want anyone risking going out unnecessarily. We are just going to do a group what's app video chat and raise a glass to him and I will send him an e card. I think I would have words with your sister and tell her to get a grip on what is important. Sending physical cash is not a good idea as the virus can survive on letters and cash etc.

My daughter turned 16 last month. Planning to get a part time job after er exams. She could get one now, but in this climate I won't let her. Too many people who actually need the money for rent and food, I do feel for her as not sure there will be many opportunities even once this has eased off. I give her a small allowance, but was going to stop it in August so I could start giving it to the boy and it would prompt her to get a job. May have to suck it up and keep giving it to her. (she has to buy her own clothes bar essentials, and Toiletries etc)

There are starting to be more reports of perfectly fit youngsters dying of the virus now or becoming seriously ill. However great the frustration of the lockdown I don,t think it's worth the risk for what is, in reality a very short period of their lives.

    Hope you're all OK Emma?

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

I know lots of my friends are having strange dreams, panic attacks and bouts of anxiety. What techniques are you using to keep it under control? I used a compartmentalised box that had separate lids I could shut and lock. It actually helped me to have a physical box I put the lists from each compartment in, folded and labelled in a physical tin. Then when I wanted to deal with one of the compartment I labelled everything on the list so I knew what was in my control, what I might be able to influence, and what I had no control over. It was great for prioritising the things I could do (not that I felt up to doing many) - it has helped me over the years to look at the causes, the things I can do and the things that just sit there in the 'what-if" space.

Is that what is happening with your door?

I meant to add, that I cut my Son's hair once. It was really badly knotted and long and he had nits that the dopey doctor suggested was acne, with itchy spots on his shoulders. He ended up with a number four clippers on top and number two round the bottom after it went badly wrong.... He grew his hair back to long and has never had it properly short since. Probably enough said...

And well done on the betting win. How lovely.

I’ve just spent a morning reading your whole diary. I am so impressed with your strength to leave your ex. I’m also impressed with how you make so much extra money. Keep going, you are an inspiration to us all xx
  • Been for a walk today. When I go food shopping I can see a big hill and so today for our exercise we climbed it. I felt like I was on top of the world when I got to the top. Couldn't breathe but felt like I had achieved something. 345 metres high and not a sole in sight. Not our usual nightly trot around the streets. We don't normally walk around during the day as I find them a bit crowded. On the path at the bottom there was a dog off lead (really annoys me as they always come too close). Anyway, I had a full poo bag in my hand and the dog came over to me and ripped the bag and it's contents out of it. It was flying everywhere and I was heaving. The dog ate the bag and the poo! The owner walked over (keeping too safe a distance) and began to call his dog over but he wasn't listening. There are sheep on the hills and they are all lambing. If his dog got shot he'd be fed up. My dog misses his off lead walks but I'd never let him off as I'd have to intrude on somebody elses space to retrieve him and it's not worth a sheep dying or my dog getting shot. Some people are daft.
No money saving today but haven't spent anything so does that count?

So husband has emailed me and attached divorce papers that he has completed. He has written a big paragraph about how bad I was. It's not true what he has written and included some deeply personal things that happened before I met him and changed the dates of them. He has given my work address and they open my post and so will be able to read everything that he has put. He told me that his solicitor has written it in front of him and made him write it. He really didn't want to do it. I pointed out social distancing and that it is littered with grammatical errors. He then said that he had a solicitor but was now acting alone.  I didn't sleep well at all last night and I have woken up at a silly hour. He's a very dangerous individual who is out to ruin my name. This is his last piece of control over me.
