Aldi has similar at same price: https://www.aldi.co.uk/luxury-toilet-tissue-9-pack/p/063017006479600
Tesco own brand "Spring Force" £2.10 for 9 rolls

Also got 3 cartons of Apple Juice for 40p at Tesco which is clearly matching this

I like Aldi just the way it is :T
Me too, plus an occasional Morrison's online shop for heavy stuff"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

But if you compared a basket of shopping for the week (as Aldi often do in their adverts) then I think Aldi would be better value for money and cheaper.
I agree Aldi is normally cheaper for a full basket - but Aldi price comparison adverting is a bit sneaky . They compare branded goods in Tesco ,against non-branded in Aldi . Any store could do that and get the same result
For example this -0 -
Yes you're right it is sneaky as a direct price comparison but I think they're also making the point that branded isn't necessarily any better. I still think I'm right though that even switching to some Tesco own brands wouldn't present such good value for overall.0

I went shopping with a canny pensioner shopper in Lidl today, and two boxes of shopping came to £16 & something. I was actually surprised when the bill total came up.
I just don't see that being possible at the Big 4.1 -

While I agree it's not a direct comparison, the thing I quickly learned when I started shopping in Aldi was that its own brands really were acceptable alternatives to main brand products.
Aldi's plan is to replicate a main brand product and make it obvious from the packaging that it's a copy. Tesco et al just offer a cheap, and often inferior, alternative. Sainsbury's vile digestive biscuits spring to mind!
Aldi doesn't always get it right (warning - avoid Aldi's peanut M&M knock-off!) but usually it does. On that basis the comparison isn't quite as unreasonable as it may seem.0 -
I regularly get 20% of vouchers for Waitrose, which can make Waitrose cheque than Aldi. Eg Aldi butter £1.50. Waitrose butter, £1.60, less 20%, =£1.28.
I self scan and get the bill as close as close as possible to the voucher amount, mainly buying things that are on special offer.0 -

I used to do 90% of my shopping in Tesco, Now its about 80% in Lidl and 10 in Tesco and 10% in others. I love Lidl weekend events, They have stuff i use a lot of so i tend to buy 3/6 of them which ever max i can then it saves me money in long run. Tesco is cheap on some stuff and some of tesco branded stuff i like so i will pay for it.
The fresh stuff is hit and miss at Lidl and Aldi so you have to have a good look at it and check towards the back.
The bakery at Lidl is my favorite of all bakeries! Well priced and freshly baked a few times a day.Jan Wins: .0 -
Do most of our shopping at Aldi now, Tesco probably has the edge when it comes to fruit and veg but most other things I get at Aldi come out a fair bit cheaper. Shop around it's amazing how much you can save (if you've got the time):EasterBun Everyone seems normal until you get to know them0
