Tesco now as cheap as Aldi?

You can use the Tesco vouchers in store for all sorts of things that are excluded in the T&Cs. The staff seem quite happy to put anything through, and the tills aren't programmed to enforce the conditions. It can be very lucrative.
I just don't want to make myself look an idiot (and annoy the people waiting behind me!!) by having to run round the shop to get more stuff that does take me to the spend limit!!!0 -
No way can you compere Aldi to Tesco quality is far superior at Aldi0

I have noticed that Tesco’s “Growers Harvest “ range seems to price match Aldi’s Sweet Harvest ; Everyday Essentials & Rio Doro range :
These items are the same price in both shops:
Tinned chopped tomatoes 400g 28p
Tinned plum tomatoes 400g 28p
Tinned Kidney Beans 400g 35p
Passata 500g 32p
Tinned New potatoes 567g 39p
Frozen Garden peas 900g 62p
Orange Juice Smooth 1L 55p
Apple Juice 1L 55p0 -

That's helpful to have some concrete examples.
Currently I buy tomatoes and red beans in Home Bargains at 25p and I like the Aldi juice because it has a pourer on the carton (don't know if that applies to Tesco).0 -

Really? I find Aldi quality awful compared to Tesco on the rare occasion I have visited an Aldi with friends.
It’s like visiting a jumble sale for food at Aldi.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. It depends what you mean by 'quality'. If you are particularly hung-up on store layout then, yes, Aldi can be a bit of an obstacle course. I described the centre aisle offering as Satan's Jumble Sale years ago. (which isn't to say you can't get some absolute bargains there!).
If, however, you are talking about product quality, Aldi beats Tesco hands down and does so at what I would estimate is a 20-30% price saving on my weekly shop. Tesco doesn't even begin to compete on that basis - and there are none of Tesco's dodgy 'deals' to contend with, either.0 -

We gave up shopping at our local large Tesco because we got so fed up having to negotiate around all the staff and trollies assembling online orders - it got to the point where it was almost impossible to get to half of the shelves.0 -

So true! I really hate that about Tesco. You really feel that as a customer you are just getting on the way of the staff. And they congregate and chat, making the shelves totally inaccessible.0 -
These Tesco brands have been specifically created to challenge Aldi and Lidl.
Personally, I can't really see the point of getting Tesco's copy of Aldi & Lidl, when you can just as easily access the real thing. But we don't have a Tesco, so it's kind of academic.
