Good afternoon my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
Soooo I've been feeling a little low about our whole financial situation right now....
I haven't done much this morning other than see to the kids.... I'm determined to not suffer a low period because of our current financial situation so I'm going to have a cup of tea. Oh is going to sit with the kids and I'm going to have a nice quite bath ... I might even push the boat out and apply a hair and face mask.... Over the years I've learnt self care is so important for my mental health so I'm going to try and implement it into my weekly routine. I'm also going to start getting up before the kids and take some me time in the morning to read , prey , meditate or do some chair yoga.
My health is not good at the moment. I've gained alot of weight so much so that I've gone past the overweight catagory. I have joined slimming world online to try and help but so far after 3 weeks I am just maintaining not loosing. But I will not give up. The extra weight is causing extreme pain in my legs and hips so I'm now relying on tramadol daily .. luckily I do not suffer any side effects but I hate putting such strong medication down my neck.
My plan for the remaining of the month is too list 5 items on FB . And do some surveys.
I'm also going to declutter some more.
We hired a skip at the beginning of this month and filled it ...
For those that don't know I'm on a personal journey to frugal minamilsm. My goal eventually is too fit everything I personally own in a hodall (or large backpack) .. for me living with less makes me less stressed. I
It also means I become content with what I have and stops the feeling of wanting more.
I wish had this theory when we were living at the flat.
I've also minamised my FB and insta and I've only got what is supporting my current goals and situation on there.....
It's so true when they say ... You always want more .. your never content with what you have....
I always dreamed of owning a home like we have.... I always dreamed of having no debt ... I always dreamed of having a family.... A loving partner etc.
But ... Once I had that I wanted more.... I wanted what I thought was better ...
Isn't it crazy to think this journey I've been on for over 3 years and I'm still learning... I'm still slipping up .. I'm still forgiving myself ... I'm still resetting myself .... I'm still reminding myself..... That this... What I have now.... Eleven years ago when cradling my newborn ... This was all I ever wanted ... And yet at times I want more.... But I have everything I need ... and so .. I have to learn to be kinder to myself... And remind myself .. I have enough ..
There is nothing wrong with wanting more ... But when you start beating yourself up about it ... It's time to stop...
Anyway... The other night I drew up a spreadsheet of a plan to get things sorted but it's just too much going on and too confusing ...so ...
The emergency fund will be back at £6000 by the end of the month.
And that's where im going to leave it for now.
Next I will start saving for a car. And Christmas.
Next year once the car is brought I'll overpay the loan ... Then our focus will be the mortgage ..
One step at a time ... And I pledge to still be mortgage free by 40 .....
Have a lovely day everyone ❣️
Love hugs and positivity to you all

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
Thankyou for your comments .. it really does help to keep me going.
I'm feeling better today than I was.
Done our last food shop for this month came to just under £70. I'm happy with that.
I will definitely hit getting the emergency fund back upto £6k at the end of the month, and may have some extra left over to start the car fund off.
After this month we have 5 months left of the year so I'm going to break down the rest of the year into 5 steps.. and where any left over money from the budget will go. December I have an extra pay (paid 4 weekly but I divide it over the month so the month I get two pays which is December I dont include it into the budget so that money will go to savings etc but I will include it below). You will see what I mean below ..
1. (Aug) car fund
2. (Sept) very catalog
3. (Oct) very / car fund
4. (Nov) Ds2 birthday / Xmas
5. (Dec) car fund / ds1 birthday
(Dec extra pay) car fund
It feels more manageable now it's broken down into steps.
Today was a low spend day .. just picked up some milk. No other spends today. Food shop will go out on Monday or Tuesday.
I'm working in the morning. After work I'm going to cancel some of our subscriptions that we pay for that we don't need.
The weekend will be no spend other than milk / bread . I think I have enough fuel in the car until the 1st of aug.
Nothing else to really update on.
Ds2 new school bag and lunch box came today. I don't replace their bags / lunch boxes every year only when they need replacing. And I only buy what needs replacing of uniform. Same goes for clothes throughout the year I only get what they need. Ds1 needed all new uniform this year as he goes to high school in September. But I didnt go over the top we just got what was needed to wash and wear.
I'm hoping to get some surveys done before the month is out.
Have a good evening everyone
Love hugs and positivity to you all x

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
Hope you are all well.
Today was a no spend day.
I had work this morning. We went for a very short walk after work and then the kids had a picnic and popcorn in the lounge and we all watched a film together.
Younger ones have just gone to bed and now me and the eldest are watching a film before bed. Morning shift again tomorrow so an early night for me.
Nothing else to report to be honest.
Have a good evening everyone

Good morning my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
I have work this afternoon. Celebrating my birthday this morning with the children and OH.
Officially 28 !
Yesterday was a low spend day. Brought milk and some sweets for the kids.
Today is a no spend day. We have the food shop coming tomorrow.
I also get our last lot of income for the month tomorrow so I'll be money shuffling. Will top the emergency fund back upto £6k and any extra (we do have extra) will go to the car fund as planned.
Builder rang this morning. They are coming one day this week to start dds room. We have done the landing up there. So will get dds room and ds1 room done and that's the third floor finished then. Also will be nice to get son's room done ready for big school.
80% of the work we want done will be covered by the loan we took out (not including the bathroom and kitchen)
So hopefully we won't have to use our emergency fund for any of it.
Hoping to clear the loan in half the original loan period (about 3-4 years)
Any work we can do ourselves we are. To save money. It will be nice to get the house how we want it. A home to be proud of that we love.
Oh I also have a few cheques waiting to clear so hopefully they will be paid into my account before the end of the month. And we can start August fresh.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Love hugs and positivity to you all
