Hello my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
I've wrote my goals for June
♥️ 15 no spend days
♥️ complete spending freeze for a week
♥️ Make 4 videos
♥️ work on my side projects
♥️ reduce food shop spends
♥️ Put £500 to savings or mortgage overpayment
I'm currently working on some side projects it will be a long term project over the next few years with the hope to create some extra income. I'll obviously do it all above board and register as self employed if I start generating income.
We will see. For now it's all about reducing our spending and saving as much money as possible.
Nothing to really update on tbh . Food shop is ordered for tomorrow I'll update tomorrow will the total spent.
Have a good day everyone
Love, hugs, and positivity to you all

Ooh, I like the idea of side projects! I keep thinking I should do something like that, but I am far too lazy and uncreative at the moment

Thankyou so much.
I figure it will keep me busy ... Not that I'm not busy enough already.. and if I can make some money from it then it's a win win !
We will see what happens
No spend day today .. racking them up slowly this month 😁
Have a lovely evening everyone.

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
Oh man. I could cry.
I hope your are all well.
So we had some quotes for our roof. (had a leak last year temporary sorted it by putting tar on it) but we need it fixed. Otherwise we are going to end up with it leaking again and causing more internal damage.
Anyway the quote was way more than we thought.
Around £8k ... We have some savings but not this much. I'm also due to have my operation at some point so will need some savings for then as I'll be on SSP.
So we have taken out a loan. This is too cover all the work we need done on the house that needs doing asap.
It's £170 over 7 years.
So for now. We need to concentrate on overpaying this loan. I'm hoping to get it cleared in 3 years instead 7.
For now the loan is priority and savings and mortgage overpayments will have to wait
We are continuing to tighten our belts as much as possible and do no spend to be able to get this loan paid off asap.
I'll keep you all updated
Take care

Hi everyone ,
I hope you are all well ?
I've been a bit quite on here and my bank statements show for it ... I have spent way too much money ... A lot of it on c#@p 😒 ...
So I still plan to be mortgage free by 40 !
Partner turned 28 a few days ago... And I'll be 28 before the end of the month.
So I'm getting back on this bandwagon that I keep slipping off... And this time I'm staying focused. I will try to post most days to keep me focused and accountable.
So we have 12 years until we turn 40 !
So our mortgage free wannabe date will be .... 5th July 2032 !
Even though I have been AWOL ! I have continued with our regular overpayment ..
I also aim to make £50 a month in side hustles (extra income)
And I'm still working on my second job / income making stream ..
On the upside ...
Apart from decorating the house / renovations we shouldn't have any extra spends between now and November (November is Ds2 birthday and when I will do the Christmas shopping) .. unless there are any school trips or school expenses.
My income in my new job will be lower... By quite a bit compared to previous few years so I'm going to see if we are entitled to any extra help (school meals , NHS exemption etc)
I have brought school uniforms for the new school year and shoes / bags that needed replacing etc.
I'm going to budget £300 for the rest of the year for clothes (Ds2 needed some new clothes but as always I will ask on FB and search eBay first)
So other than house decorating and renovations we are no spend AGAIN !!!
Wish us luck. I know we can do it we have done it before and we can do it again we just need to reset ...

It's not much , but it's progress and at the moment I don't think we can stretch to much more than this unfortunately ...
~ We will continue to make our automated overpayment that is set up on our mortgage.
~ The loan I will make minimum and then make an overpayment 1st of December with what we have available.
I'm hoping to buy a car CASH next year as we currently lease one. So this is very much a priority, and I need a reliable motor as I (normally) make regular trips every fortnight to see family which is over 100 miles round trip. I'm not sure how much to save realistically .. I need to be able to fit a preteen and 2 carseats in the back ... If I don't have enough saved then we will look at another lease ...
Food shopping is something I seem to have spent a fortune on since lockdown .. I'm not entirely sure why ? The kids take packed lunch to school normally so it's not like we are doing extra lunches ... And we rarely had takeout before and continue to not really have take out now.... I need to look at seriously cutting our food shop spend down, so for August this will be my focus ... As well as essential spends only ... I have already budgeted for my hair cut ... I just have a trim ... That is booked in August .. due to Corona and lockdown I haven't had my hair cut since Feb so it is well overdue ..
Have a good evening everyone
Love hugs and positivity to you all
